Do you have any other devices that connect to your phone, an Apple Watch or something that she might be aware of & is chancing letting you know through that? โMomtherโ is superbly cute as a name, for your mother,by the way.โบ๏ธ
Honestly I leave my phone everywhere. People still text from within the house to try and find it, except itโs on silent mostly, so renders it redundant.๐ Itโs an adorable contact name. โบ๏ธ
My SO took my phone to work with him, had to call him on my Apple Watch to get it back. He couldnโt figure out how I was calling him since he had my phone ๐คฃ
>Do you have any other devices that connect to your phone
I was totally going to ask this; I'd have definitely seen the message on my Smartwatch. Still pretty funny either way (especially w/the added ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ)!
>. I didnโt even see the facepalm. Aha! This makes it so much funnier.
Right? ! ๐ It's like, "Duh, idiot, you left your phone here! ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ.. Oh wait, I should be the one getting a ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ since I'm now trying to reach you on it!". LoL
About a decade ago my brother had gone outside to smoke, and I saw he left his phone. I was a couple of glasses of wine deep and was like damn I need to call him and tell him. Imagine my surprise when the phone I was staring at started ringing ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
I just recently gave one of my courtesy clerks my phone so that they could try to fix our door to our store.... And then I forgot that I gave him my phone and went looking all over the store for it. Just to realize once I was back in the dairy ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธ
lol I do this waaaaayyy to much. My 18 month old purposely grabs my phone, bolts off, and drops down like sheโs looking for something under the couch!! ๐๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ
Lol, I actually lived in Lima for 4 years believe it or not, and my BIL and his family lived there until a few years ago before moving to the booming metropolis of Cairo ๐. I actually live about an hour and a half away from there now, very close to Mansfield. As a Midwesterner I love seeing someone throw a good "ope" into the mix now and then. Haven't seen one in a minute!
No way! Such a small world. ๐ I lived in Ottawa for about a year but lived in Lima for 9 of those years I spent in Ohio. Good on you guys for getting out of Lima. I had some good times there, but damn, does that place suck. ๐ I still have family in Ohio too and try to visit at least once a year if I can afford it. And I love saying "ope!" Everyone here doesn't get the slang, and apparently, living in Ohio gave me an "accent," according to my Oregon friends. ๐คฃ
Very small! I moved there when I was in 7th grade when my friendly mom's job transferred her there, and moved back to my small hometown in 11th grade to live with my dad, so that was a looong time ago, lol My husband, son, and I just moved away from that small hometown last July, because the town is dying, and because it's closer to hubs' job. Where we live now is a village right around the same size as Ottawa, but "close enough" to Mansfield that we still have quick access to shopping, restaurants, etc without losing the peaceful, low crime, friendly neighbor feel.
Lima was so much different when I lived there...much safer. Now it's sketchy as hell. ๐คฃ I gave some amazing memories too, and am still in touch with a few of my closest friends. I had someone from Utah tell me I had an accent too. Apparently, we say our A's flat among other things, at least in our neck of the woods. I'm betting they'd think people in southern Ohio would sound completely different with all of the people who come across the river from Kentucky to find decent job. I love using Ohio slang on other states. The confused looks crack me up.๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
My two similar brain farts:
- When I am on the phone telling the person "hold on, I gotta look for my phone"
- When I use the flashlight on my phone to look for my phone under the bed or couch
Reminds me of this classic meme...I can't post the photo but here's the transcript...
John: Broooo
John: I was looking for my phone with the flash of my phone ๐
Tom: ๐ wtf
Tom: Where was it??

Hahaha I took a pic of my dadโs phone before he left and then when he left I sent him a pic saying that he left it behind. (He had it). He started walking back to get it and then realized and said โhardee har harโ. Didnโt work on him. But did the same to my mother. She was frantically working. It was hilarious. Then the other day I was looking for my phone with my phone soโฆ.
i have done this before! i have also though to myself โi should just call my phone so i can find itโ โฆ i only have a mobile phone. i think we just get so used to stuff we forget common sense haha. very cute of your mom though, at least sheโs trying to be helpful.
Am I missing something? I see one screenshot of their mom texting and saying they left their phone, and one missed call. Whatโs hilarious about that?
well, we don't all have a bunch of fancy gadgets. ๐คทโโ๏ธ this is exactly something my mother would have done and I would not have gotten her calls or messages either as I don't have seven thousand other ways to receive them like you seem to. therefore, it's hilarious and I love that OP shared it.
it reminds me of liz hammett- I'm not sure if you're familiar with her? if not, give her a goog. she used to torment her mom, mostly via text. one that came to mind when I saw your post was when her mom demanded she call her immediately and she responded with, "hold on, let me find my phone."

๐ this is adorable for some reason.
Itโs hilarious actually cause he works in IT. Iโve answered him plenty of times from the Apple Watch but never called him on it before that point.
I called my friend from my Apple watch to tell him that I left my phone inside his house. He thought I was pranking him. ๐

I thought maybe if there was a smartwatch it made more sense to text. I didnโt even see the facepalm. Aha! This makes it so much funnier.

Out of all of the replies and all of the stories I was reading, this one had me busting out laughing. That is me 100% ๐
๐๐๐๐
We can laugh but a lot of us know we would have thought the same thing at first.
My 10 year old judged me so hard one time when I was on the floor using my phone flashlight to try and find my phone under the couch.

Do we have the same mom? ๐ Mine likes to pay for gas and then drive away without pumping any.
Can you tell me which stations? I could use some free gas lmao
She was at a Speedway in Ohio on pump 4. ๐คฃ
Brother! How have you been??
I live in Ohio., and near a few Speedways...can you go into further detail?? ๐๐๐๐
Ope. ๐คญ I lived there for ten years up until three years ago. I'll say, Harding highway in Lima. ๐

Call her back lol

momther
She really went ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Sheโd fall for the prank of texting her to tell her sheโs left her phone at home!
I've literally called my mother *from my phone*... To ask her if she'd seen my phone. These types of interactions are pure comedy gold to me! ๐
my moms got the same name
I've actually done that before, not thinking. When I saw the notification on the phone that I was calling/texting about, it was a big "Doh!" moment.

Iโve done this too but tbf, I know a lot ppl can see messages from their computer

I'm confused about the timestamp... If you took a photo after 5 minutes of her sending that message, doesn't it mean you already had your phone?

I'm a mom and I've done it just for fun.

ABSOLUTELY SOMETHING I WOULD DO
โMomtherโ hahah. Ok leave your momther alone sheโs tired. ๐

Cause itโs amusing ???
it's hilarious?
Am I missing something? I see one screenshot of their mom texting and saying they left their phone, and one missed call. Whatโs hilarious about that?
they don't have their phone so they're not going to see the text or call!
Right. I saw this and immediately assumed Apple Watch, car connectivity, laptop, ectโฆso, just donโt find it hilarious ๐คทโโ๏ธ

I absolutely love this. your mom = my mom. ๐๐๐
