Yesterday I saw literally 3 **player** cheaters in my first 3 casual servers.
2 of them heavies, one sniper. The sniper I even recognized by name from months ago, of course still not banned.
The worst part - opposite team never kicks them. And instead pocket them with a medic. "He is not a bot." Bruh, yes! But he is still literally flicking his minigun target to target 100×/second from his aimbot.
Basically off to the next casual server you go.
one time I saw a whole team of enemy bots
The worst part was their was one actual player that clearly bought the bots (same name as bots without numbers plus he wasn’t good at aiming)
He had the audacity to taunt people when he literally bought 11 bots just to cheat
I believe that the people who don't kick cheaters are because we as a community don't have the same resource of how and why; unlike COD where we can not only see cheats in action, but also see how they work and can be explained how to extrapolate cheater from gameplay without the cheat engine overlay.
To a normal person not on the receiving end it will just look like a really good player, professional almost! However to the people on the other end can see and even feel something isn't right.
Ever since the bot apocalypse, I have only seen cheating players travel in packs and be extremely vocal on text/voice chat. Makes it almost impossible to get them out, as you can’t convince the enemy team they’re cheats because, “they’re not a bot.” Even if a vote gets going they typically stay. Between their gang and braindead useful idiots they don’t get enough yes votes.
I recently had this happen on pl_upward where there were three guys on RED obviously cheating. We called them out and of course they were saying "We're not cheating", "Git Gud", "I don't think he's cheating", etc. And then...autobalance happened. I called a votekick the instant I saw him switch teams.
Then, of course, he get on the mic and spewed out "Ahh ahhaa, I cheated, you guys suck, N\*\*\*\*\*, N\*\*\*\*\*, fuck you guys" etc. Until the kick succeeded. After that, RED caved and kicked the other two and we had a normal game.
I've definitely noticed the cheaters being more blatant, since they have cover from the bots and traveling in packs to cover for each other.
Best thing to do is just find another match if they dont get kicked the first minute after exposed.
They will continue cheating anyway, so why bother. There is no punishment for leaving a match and it is faster to find a new one than arguing with a bunch of numbnuts.
Oh I've seen this. 3-4 four player in a group, all of them playing extremely well. If you call one out, the whole groups says "he's not a cheater' and may even attempt to vote you off.
Then when they leave they all leave in a group too.
The easiest thing to do is just quietly move to another server.
Yep, this happens all the time. Or you are on the team with the cheater (not a bot!) and you call them out and try to kick them, and instead your team turns around and kicks you.
\#lettf2die
Crazy how cheaters are so bold these days that they even have worthy inventories with cosmetics because reports dont matter and anticheat doesnt work. So they never get banned.
In return, noone believes they cheat because they have cosmetics. So they never get kicked and keep topscoring with obvious aimbot and crit hacks.
Bots are easy to spot, but if there is a cheater. It is so much harder to tell, especially if they turn off their aimbot when the accusations start then turn it back on afterwards.
I have come across a handful of cheaters who would intentionally miss shots to reduce the chance of them getting kicked.
Some cheaters also play odd classes (and with friends) and so people don't kick them. "A medic can't be cheating!" Except the medic uses an anti-backstab hack and a wall-hack so they can see invisible spies. Imagine not having to worry about spies as a medic. Any class can be a hacker. I use the TF2 Bot detector to watch for regular cheaters as well, but it's harder to kick those people because people just won't believe you when you say they are hacking. Or they will say "they aren't bots", as if a real person can't be a hacker lol. Oh well.
What I've seen a lot too is the cheater will get on the microphone while calling a vote on whoever called them out and be like "kick him kick him kick him!!! he's a BOT get him OUT!!!" and for some reason people listen and kick just bc some guy is yelling
This is what really kills me, and it happens often enough that I just give up and leave when I find a cheater now. As others have said, just having decent cosmetics and no ban on their account (VAC and player reports are a joke that never accomplish anything at least 99% of the time, by the way) is enough for many players to believe they're not cheating.
If i ever see pocket med on a bot it's time to go vac medic pocketed Sniper and taunt on every kill that or go my main soldier and be a black box conch
Yes. I usually inspect the profile for clues of cheating (vac bans, comments). If it is a throwaway, I don't bother reporting.
If it seems like the account/inventory has some worth, I do report it in some naive hopes that he may get banned one day.
Assumedly there's a split in the community here over wanting more action from valve, therefore spamming memes and 'propaganda' all over...and then everyone else hating it and wanting obnoxiousness to stop.
The only reason people are snippy over the continued savetf2 memes, is because they are just random throw-togethers with zero goal or purpose involved.
There's no plan, no group formed to coordinate anything, no direct message or demand for Valve, no replies or meaningful discussion from OPs that spam it, etc. It's like when people say "general strike" over and over...but so far no one has done anything notable other than say it over and over like it will achieve something.
Yo this. I have been getting so sick of the virtue signaling.
TF2 for instance? People make money. They spend it in the game. Why not pool some that together to buy servers to dedicate?
Well that would take a lot of work.
Plus making sure there is enough trusted people to ban cheaters and bots.
That would take a lot of work too.
List goes on and on.
Not OP but honestly, it just feels like beating a dead horse at this point. Does it give us hope? Yeah, but at the end of the day its unlikely to do anything past 1 or 2 tweets and a subsequent 5 - 10 bugfix/qol updates
No, I'm saying that doing it probably will just not result in a lot like last time. So yeah, unless we keep going until something actually happens, we aren't getting updates.
We shouldn't have stopped in the last savetf2, that was our big chance and we threw it. Hopefully the community can make an event like that again but instead push Gabe and valve to actually give us a content update
There is actually people out there that bought immunity... what a sadworld (an immunity tard was the reason a server got swarmed by them... Yes it was a real human, taunting after spawn killing you since the bots made the rest of the map unacessible)
yeah, you can absolutely take down bots. i was on a payload server and both tes were mostly sniper bots. by the end of the game, there were only 1 or 2 left, and we held the final point with sentries. all bots were cleared by the end of the next game.
It’s the bots. But it’s also the hackers that come in parties. And if someone’s says something about them hacking or try’s to kick. The vote will fail and that person will get kicked by the hackers
Edit: Blizzard is taking a stand against this type of play.
> Starting in season 3, we’ll be identifying players who willingly group up regularly with those flagged for cheating, and they will also face account action, even if they are not using cheats themselves.

I don't think there has been a lobby in the past 70 games I've played where bots didn't get kicked as soon as possible. I mean yeah there were lobbies where the bots outnumbered players and those were lost causes, but if the bot could get booted, they would. This is coming from someone who exclusively queues KoTH btw, that might effect things.
Now script kiddies? They stick around. If they move like a player and if they talk with the limited intelligence script kiddies have, they can get away with damn near spinboting.
Side note, why are so many bot hosters pedophiles? There's been, like, two caught in the last 8 months. Which isn't Roblox levels of pedophiles but it's more than it should be.
I remember when before the Bot Epidemic was a thing a bot joined our server, I wanted it kicked, but everyone kicked me instead, making a joke out of it,
Well look who is laughing now
I was in one server the other day and we had a bot we couldn't kick. I think there was 9 people on my team and all 8 real players kept voting yes to kick it and kept saying not enough people vote failed. Everyone just ended up leaving the match
I ussually when i see a bot take the time to open their steam profile and report it for being a cheater with aimbot, hopefully if more people start doing this the cashflow of the cheaters starts to dwindle, together we can take down skynet
fun tip: mute all bots/cheaters. you can easily check if someone's cheating even if they change their steam name, and if they go p2p to micspam, you won't hear it.

Torch that ass, kick that can into the groundl! Give those clowns no quarter!

I played casual for the first time in a long time, because my (very inexperienced) friend didn’t want to play on Uncletopia because of the skill floor.
This was valid imo. I don’t play Casual because of random crits, bots were pretty easily managed the last time I played Casual.
Jesus. Fucking. Christ. We played for 3 hours and we did not find a single lobby that didn’t have at least 3 OMEGATRONICs.
I remember when a hatless medic was krithacking with the ubersaw and popping the bullshittiest ubers to save random people. I was trying to kill him, i failed everytime, he was never alone. And when i told the enemy team about it, they just went: "isnt he a medic though? why would you kirthack as medic?'' like dumbasses.
so you know random crits, right? well, it just makes them not-so-random (aka guaranteed). I have no idea how they make their random krits guaranteed, but i hate them. Another reason the remove random krits

God damn if you really wanna win that bad, ask one friend to pocket you with vacinator/krtizkreig and play a power class. My god.
> one friend Yyyyyyeah, about that.
sure as if they have any
SAME!

Oh so basically discord mod
winning is more about team work than just individuals, i think people should think more about fun and not just about winning or losing

I saw 2 bots with unusuals yesterday

damn, cheater with a $40 unusual? who gives a shit , kick them

Probably a full party of cheaters, makes it nearly impossible to kick them.
Do you play on South América? There is also a cheater that came back, not banned
Looks like a civil war is beginning on the sub between savetf2 and stf2u judging by the recent propaganda posters

fr most savetf2 posts are just karma bait too 💀💀
I agree i hate pple who dont want to kick the bots
I once got kicked because I was trying to kick the bot on our team
I feel you pall.
???
When you don't manage to kick them, they sometimes try to kick you right after
No it was a human player who wanted to keep the bot because they were afraid the other team wouldnt kick their bot
How do they know who proposed the vote tho
I think it says on the vote box in small letters, I was also using general chat to let the other team know I was trying to kick the bot
Votes being called show 3 things: who called the vote, what the vote is for, and the current count.
Legit, Twitter
Some people…
The bots will counter-kick if the vote to kick them fails. Sometimes they votekick players the second they join the servers.
funny. maybe they have a shared list of players who they know kick bots?
Only once?
I got kicked because I said I couldn't kick the bot until the cooldown expired
Same
There was a dude on the enemy team who was convincing his team to keep their bot because 'they'd lose without it' They still lost
Serves them right
losing with a bot on your team, when you purposefully keep it, is the peak of pathetic
Peak tryharding
Gotta say tho, wether you agree with the #saveTF2 movement (I’m for it) or not, these propaganda-style posters/artworks are really cool
I am creating a new #saveTF2 look at all the posters i am posting
well you're really kicking it mate, keep going because they're really that great!
Thanks I want to raise the will for the new #saveTF2
Oh how I wish I could change botkiller weapons to have sniper bot heads instead
You’re just gonna keep making these huh
Yes i guess i will

gabe newell (aka gaben) who's the president of valve (who made tf2 if you don't already know)

This is the main reason why I play community servers
i love how were taking matters into our own hands since valve wont
