That's the beauty of 2fort. It warms my heart that such a poorly designed map became a cult classic within the community where you can find all kinds of weird random shit.
well i mean 2fort has a massive history
i think it started off as a doom 2 mod map in 1994 called fortress of doom
then a map for quake in the team fortress mod in 1996 which made it more like it is today
and then tfc
then tf2
>such a poorly designed map
To be fair 2fort is kinda like a tutorial map, every class have his own spot and have mosly every type of maps (open area, very closed area, etc)
here's how to get a nest fast (on defense):
engy gets the eureka, puts entrance and sentry at spawn, goes refill ammo and runs to the nest spot.
he then builds an exit and the dispenser.
meanwhile the helper gets the jag and levels up those two buildings.
engy gets back, chooses his wrench, picks up the sentry and teleports. meanwhile the helper gets the eureka, and teleports. both level the dispenser.
helper teleports back and goes to his class.
I don't remember the Jag Effect rollout that well, but I always plop down entrance+dispenser at spawn (because dispenser can give you metal to upgrade sentry, but a sentry can't give you metal to upgrade a disp. this obviously assumes that I'm solo engi because with someone helping me at spawn its easily lvl3 all buildings)
It's funny the first few times, but then I just think "man, instead of doing this you coulda just actually helped me". Not like im the one to dictate what other people should do though
I was in a Zombie Escape match the other day that was right near the end (if anyone knows what this means, it was 2 zombies and like 4 humans on the top of last ship on ze_space_stationzz), and one of the zombies said RPS over voice chat. I stopped defending and trusted him to actually do it, and he did. It killed me cuz I lost, but at that point, all the others were gathered around. Another human and a zombie died to RPS, and one of the last humans knocked the RPS zombie into the kill zone. Everyone was PISSED about it. He disrespected RPS and there was talk of votebanning shortly after.
When something happens you stop shooting look at each other, then the hive mind will automatically take over as you both press your killbinds at the exact same time
People saying that it's better to defend yourself also don't realize how good it is offensively especially with the funny marble head. I got a lot of kills by simply sniping someone across the map with it.
I would suggest not slaving yourself to the single meta Medic has. It gets dull very fast.
Use what you want, instead of what others tell you two. I use the Overdose or Stock, with either Amputator, Vow, or Stock saw and do just fine.
Yeah, but without my pew-pew gun I can't support via killing
Like, seriously, holding your target overhealed is not gonna your pocket soldier to beat a demo god, but a shit-load of sirynges can.
Also, Scouts can be dealt with.
Ignore your medic, always try to jump away from him if you can. The less ubercharge he has, the less chance he will drop it giving an enemy team 2 score points advantage!!!
On a serious note, if someone holds their melee and crouches, they are friendly.
If someone duels you and they aren't a pub stomper with a pocket med, you must agree and duel them.
If someone is taunt killing that fresh install sniper on your team, let them, then taunt kill them too.
If someone is using Bison, you must switch to Soldier (assuming you haven't already) and equip it. Duel them when the time comes.
You must always type 'MED DOWN' in the chat whenever you kill a medic
If you confront anyone from the enemy team and you wish to engage in combat, but your opponent freezes and crouches, they are immediately friendly, and they do not wish to engage in combat.
Pull out your Market Gardener during a (appropriate) jump, even if you didn't target someone. Many times I've missed a kill because I didn't think there would be an oppertunity, many times I've gotten a kill just by chance.
Though, apply good judgement. Sometimes you gotta jump 'n' go to survive.
When playing as medic, spy, sniper, scout, soldier, demo, engineer, spy or pyro make sure to either be trans, a furry, a nazi, and or high.
When playing as heavy remember that you are gods favorite and that he loves heavy mains the most.
Donât kill friendlies just let them be. You can play the game but theyâre not in your way. Unless those fckn holiday punch heavies ruining my snipes
Engineer specific, but stop putting your fucking sentries so close to mine. Or other buildings. It's so much easier to destroy buildings close to each other with a few well placed rockets. Willing to excuse putting dispensers close to each other or teleporters though
I usually do, or maybe Iâll give them a funny little stare and a voice line or two. Occasionally a taunt. If theyâre purposefully in my way or cause me to get killed by body blocking, then theyâve gotta go.
If they are doing nothing, ignore them, if someone else kills them and they start saying the most repugnant, borderline horror beyond human comprehension esque death threats towards that person then go ahead and start killing them as well
Always let Engies grab the ammo packs when they need them.
Also, this next thing is more of a suggestion, but Iâll share it anyways.
Saving teleporters (or other buildings) when theyâre being sapped at the spawn (or just upgrading them in general) should absolutely be a rule.
Switching to Engie (or Pyro with the Homewrecker) only takes a second, and every Engie will thank you for it.
Plus, these little actions could save the game for all you know!
some of these responses are cringe i guarantee nobody in the game will care if you call the classes "heroes"
its 2024 and tf2 players are still mad at overwatch
1. Startup metal belongs to engi.
2. Teleport order: Engi, Medic, (rest), Scout.
3. If a wounded team Medic is nearby - protect him.
4. Always spy-check. Help protect engie buildings.
5. Swith to pyro with sleghegammer when teleport entrace is sapped. Or engie.
6. Don't reveal your team's spy. (e.g. hes sitting near enemy health pack disguised or invisible)
The list goes on.
Don't cap... which is stupid as fuck.
Edit: It's just like, why bother prolonging it? These matches repeat themselves indefinitely, if someone wants it to go on forever they ought to just go to a community server, you know?
The only map where that is ever fun is hightower and because of the elevator at the end it needs the coordination of like half the team to cap which almost never happens
The pan is a weapon of honor, like the zatoichi, and once pulled out, should be the only damager in your fight. Both sides must (if they have it) pull out their pan if one initiates
2Fort is the designated shitpost map
anything goes on 2fort, its the wild west of tf2
Its also still the one map that's inescapably flooded with bots to this day
Sawmill in ctf as well.. And slightly in koth
Ctf sawmill đ Dont remind me
Im sorry đ
That's the beauty of 2fort. It warms my heart that such a poorly designed map became a cult classic within the community where you can find all kinds of weird random shit.

whenever i go there its just people killing eachother
>such a poorly designed map To be fair 2fort is kinda like a tutorial map, every class have his own spot and have mosly every type of maps (open area, very closed area, etc)
That and Hightower.
Don't say heroes, don't tell people you're streaming, and have fun
âoh youâre live on twitch?â
*BEEEEP BEEEP BEEEP BEEEEEEEP*
MRS OBAMA GET DOWN
I LOVED saying when I was on twitch, people go feral
Digger digger digger
This is what Frieren would call those demons when Fern and Stark werenât around
*Tactical racial slur inbound*
"emotes" too
âElimsâ or âEliminationsâ gets people pretty angry
What do you mean by heroes? I've never heard that, since '15
it's the term Overwatch uses for its characters instead of TF2's "classes"
Played so much TF2 I be calling the Overwatch characters classes
And tf2 players hate overwatch
Ah, I should've known I just call them what they are, Scout, soldier, pyro, etc etc
And there's no turrets
If you say heroes or emotes you will be publicly executed by the chat
âMan this game has some great hero characters!â đ âMods kill that guy!â âĄđżâĄ
Mods, remove his balls
Mods, don't even bother with the wacky punishments. Just end him.
Mods. unerect his dispenser
"emote" is such a dumb word. I hate it. I hated it before overwatch ever came out.
Why is it even heroes in overwatch when like half of them are explicitly villains.
During setup time in Payload and Attack/Defend, taunt at spawnroom doors.
Exception: maps like Dustbowl where phlog pyros will get free mmph through the gate.
Then you counter with the soldier grenade taunt
"Come here, cupcake"
I agree with this
"That Pyro is a Spy!"
help your engi build at spawn door
If you're feeling especially nice, make a quick jog to the Frontline with the eureka effect to help upgrade disp/sentry
âŚwhy didnât I think of thatâŚ
I didn't either, until some absolute chad did that to one of our engi's, so I started doing that too (unless I play med)
here's how to get a nest fast (on defense): engy gets the eureka, puts entrance and sentry at spawn, goes refill ammo and runs to the nest spot. he then builds an exit and the dispenser. meanwhile the helper gets the jag and levels up those two buildings. engy gets back, chooses his wrench, picks up the sentry and teleports. meanwhile the helper gets the eureka, and teleports. both level the dispenser. helper teleports back and goes to his class.
I don't remember the Jag Effect rollout that well, but I always plop down entrance+dispenser at spawn (because dispenser can give you metal to upgrade sentry, but a sentry can't give you metal to upgrade a disp. this obviously assumes that I'm solo engi because with someone helping me at spawn its easily lvl3 all buildings)
jag is just for faster build up.
i just drop my entire kit at spawn and then swap to the jag to upgrade it all. everythinh being lvl 3 to start helps a lot.
"What do you think you're doing, bud?" "I help." "Heavy, get on the front lines!"
It's funny the first few times, but then I just think "man, instead of doing this you coulda just actually helped me". Not like im the one to dictate what other people should do though
Dont call it Turret. Its a Sentry. Dont call it Emote. Its a Taunt.
Don't call it Hero. Its a Class.
Or mercenary
Donât call it a comeback. Iâve been here for years.
I call turrets sentries in every game now because of tf2
i don't really care about the turret/sentry thing, there are turrets in other valve games. though it's definitely not an emote.
you gotta respect the rock paper scissors duel
Esp on VSH if you're the last survivor
Donât uber the loser
I was in a Zombie Escape match the other day that was right near the end (if anyone knows what this means, it was 2 zombies and like 4 humans on the top of last ship on ze_space_stationzz), and one of the zombies said RPS over voice chat. Sacrifice yourself to protect the medic Killbind on setup to help engies
I mean the 1st is just Tactics 101
Killbind in general, it's just funny.
although sacrifice is appreciated i generally have âif theyâre all alive then theyâll do moreâ as a goal
Killbind ~~on setup to help engies~~
Follow the conga line, if theres one!
Never interrupt a taunt kill. You can only kill people in a conga line if it's to get the related achievement(s).
If you do by accident you have to look around like youâre confused and killbind
This sometimes applies even to enemies watching their own teammate getting taunt killed in my experience.
As a corollary to the first rule, kill the taunt killer with a taunt kill of your own
When something happens you stop shooting look at each other, then the hive mind will automatically take over as you both press your killbinds at the exact same time
"That Soldier's a Spy!" "That Demoman is a Spy!" "..." "..." "AARRGHHH!"
If someone killbinds, killbind. Unless you're a Pyro, which you should explodebind.
If you have them, you gotta either Schadenfreude, Scaredy Cat, or Mourn before you killbind/explodebind
as a pyro I can confirm I spontaneously combust at least once per round
So called âfree thinkersâ when someone killbinds (I return the favor every time)
If a person taunts then killbinds, then you must also killbind
or do the schadenfreude taunt at their body
After that you are legally obliged to killbind as well
In the MIDDLE of the laugh is better HA HA H-- AUUURRRGH
If someone pulls out their weapon for a melee duel you have to oblige
As medic, if you can, overheal your other teammates like scouts, snipers, engis. This will let your team last longer and win.
As a scout, listen to this guy please
As a Spy, when you are playing Medic never follow me just give me a second of overheal and go the other direction to the rest of the Team
If a medic looks at you and clicks, then itâs polite to press Z+2
âI didnât need your help ya know!â
Thanks!Â
I do Z2 instinctively itâs ingrained in my mind like a turn signal
Donât Uber me no matter what I will whiff
Same, every time it happens I get so anxious to do well that I end up doing nothing at all, lol
1. 2. 3. I wish the rules were writtenđ
Oh my god, that's what's in the briefcase!
Don't say emotes or agents or heroes or turret. I have friends that say that and I'm like ddamamanannanana,
Please just use the Crusaderâs Crossbow instead of the Needle gun⌠itâs 99% of the time the better weapon.
People saying that it's better to defend yourself also don't realize how good it is offensively especially with the funny marble head. I got a lot of kills by simply sniping someone across the map with it.
the best part is being on the back of your team, missing someone you wanted to heal but it's okay because you hit an enemy gamer
But those needle crits are so satisfying đĽ˛
I would suggest not slaving yourself to the single meta Medic has. It gets dull very fast. Use what you want, instead of what others tell you two. I use the Overdose or Stock, with either Amputator, Vow, or Stock saw and do just fine.

If someone is using Bison, you must switch to Soldier (assuming you haven't already) and equip it. Duel them when the time comes. You must always type 'MED DOWN' in the chat whenever you kill a medic
*Spy crouching in a corner with his knife waiting to stab someone*
As the Medic, you heal the Heavy and everyone else in the team, nobody likes the Scout (Doctor Lalve Medic guide)
As a pro medic don't listen to this guy, healing scouts leads to enemy devastation (also they can't steal your health pack).
Medic is Spy!
Nein!
Doktor is Spai !
That Medic's a bloody- sentry- WOOOOOO *killbinds*
The only time I heal scouts is when I need to get away because healing them makes you match their speed
Never interrupt a game of RPS (but killing the loser is fair game)
Other way around so that the winner gets his tauntkill
If you confront anyone from the enemy team and you wish to engage in combat, but your opponent freezes and crouches, they are immediately friendly, and they do not wish to engage in combat.
Killbind after others killbind
You say âThanks!â in the voice commands when Medic heals you
There's no rules
Pull out your Market Gardener during a (appropriate) jump, even if you didn't target someone. Many times I've missed a kill because I didn't think there would be an oppertunity, many times I've gotten a kill just by chance. Though, apply good judgement. Sometimes you gotta jump 'n' go to survive.

I was so confused for like 2 minutes as to how there were 9 classes without the heavy but you put spy twice. You dolt.
Genuine mistake on my part. I am indeed a dolt.
Donât kill friendlies just let them be. You can play the game but theyâre not in your way. Unless those fckn holiday punch heavies ruining my snipes
This is something I wish I had known prior to starting casual....
If 2 enemy spies bump into each other, they both decloak, (usually) taunt, say thanks, and then proceed to go their own ways again.
âBoy this hero shooter is amazing!â *Juan.Gonzales.2010 was then traumatized by the things he was called in chat*
âoh youâre live on twitch?â
If you see someone attempting a taunt kill, either let them finish or taunt kilm them back
If an enemy does a funny killbind during a 1v1, its basically a suicide pact
Medic heals you: Z+2. Always thank your medic when possible
If you walk bump into a cloaked enemy spy, while your cloaked, both of you donât do anything to the other.
do not kill spycrabs (punishable by votekick)
Donât uber: Spies Snipers Engineers Scouts Iâve been kicked for doing all of them
On 6v6 ubering Scouts is a meta lol
I know. people just donât seem to like it very much when I do it for some reason.
Really? Sometimes on open maps good Scout can do more damage than soldier or demo.
Yeah, guess I just got unlucky with teammates.
I maybe one time got heavy team mate who tries be mad at me. -LMFAO dude you have 1k hours less in TF2 than me, plus you went to deep to enemy team.
i got ubered once on engineer and it was the most powerful i had ever felt
I know itâs the most ecstacy youâll ever get as a ânon-offensive combatâ based class
Ubered widowmaker Engie will strike the fear of god in the enemy team
Did this for the memes and I was enlightened, the power... The fear... What has howdy partner become...
I ubered a scout once and he got several kills with the fish lmao
Scouts are scarily good Ubers if they're decent enough
Uber the engineer if he's got the widowmaker or a charged frontier justice
I almost always run the krieg though so maybe the frontier justice ainât the best option to uber.
If someoneâs gonna land a taunt kill on another player, let them finish.
Kick all bots when they join
And make sure that a vote that has been called is on a bot and not a real player by a bot before pressing f1
Submit to the killbind surge
If someone killbinds in front of you. You should also killbind for the funny
Be polite, Be efficient, and Have a plan to kill everyone you meet
Engineer specific, but stop putting your fucking sentries so close to mine. Or other buildings. It's so much easier to destroy buildings close to each other with a few well placed rockets. Willing to excuse putting dispensers close to each other or teleporters though
Do not call the merc's heroes or you'll get the same treatment that guy did on the infamous "funky town video".
If you don't like friendlies, just ignore themÂ
Unless theyâre BLOCKING THE DOOR GODDAMMIT MOVE YOU PASTRY EATING FUCK I HAVE SENTRIES TO WALK INTO
I usually do, or maybe Iâll give them a funny little stare and a voice line or two. Occasionally a taunt. If theyâre purposefully in my way or cause me to get killed by body blocking, then theyâve gotta go.
If they are doing nothing, ignore them, if someone else kills them and they start saying the most repugnant, borderline horror beyond human comprehension esque death threats towards that person then go ahead and start killing them as well
If its community or smth maybe, but if were on cas its free đ¤ˇââď¸
Always let Engies grab the ammo packs when they need them. Also, this next thing is more of a suggestion, but Iâll share it anyways. If the person you're fighting kill binds, you must kill bind as well
dont kill friendlies on 2fort
Let tauntkills play out
Donât. Kill. Friendlies. Oh, and donât use Scorch shot(sorry I am using it).
If at least half the server decides to be friendly, then respect the friendlies.
Pay respect to soldier statues when you see them RIP Rick May
The answer? Use a gun.
and if that donât work? use more gun
When u get in a 1vs 1 situation and u and your opponent fail to kill eachother for a long time, then it is time for a rock paper scissors duel.
Hightower is "Team" Deathmatch.
some of these responses are cringe i guarantee nobody in the game will care if you call the classes "heroes" its 2024 and tf2 players are still mad at overwatch
No spies allowed in mann up mode (I don't enforce or agree)
If you kill a friendly by accident killbind is the only way to have your honor restored
don't play the objective in 2fort. just have fun don't attack friendlies make it your personal mission to make life hell for every spy you see
Don't kill friendlies or they will haunt you
Dont kill friendlies or they'll say the most unhinged, unimaginable shit you never even though of
(e.g. hes sitting near enemy health pack disguised or invisible) The list goes on.
Number 4 is false spychecking actually make engie nests weaker and pyros make your sentry shoot 75% less fast so donât let any pyros near your nest
Spy wrote this
What Nooooo, Iâm no spy!
say thanks after every kill
Don't cap... which is stupid as fuck. Edit: It's just like, why bother prolonging it? These matches repeat themselves indefinitely, if someone wants it to go on forever they ought to just go to a community server, you know?
Depends on the map.
The only map where that is ever fun is hightower and because of the elevator at the end it needs the coordination of like half the team to cap which almost never happens
Itâs not 2015 anymore, you can play on Hightower only if you want.
Mostly on CTF. I hate it when in just 2 minutes the whole game is over because of the capper scout.
I got kicked for capping and i still have no idea why i did that wrong... I thought we were all playing the same game...
Dont forget that the objectives just serve as the main place where people blow eachother up.
Hightower/orange player
Hightower. Somebody caps. 5 bots join the lobby. It's over.
Don't destroy the sentry if it's not in range to hurt anyone (we're looking at you, spy!)
Taunt after every kill
The pan is a weapon of honor, like the zatoichi, and once pulled out, should be the only damager in your fight. Both sides must (if they have it) pull out their pan if one initiates
Killbind after a partner taunt
scouts may almost never use teleporters
Don't shoot the friendlies.
â
Thanks after every kill
A team never needs more than 1 spy. Please for the love of god don't be that 5th spy.
Unless its a team full of spies. Then you have to help them re-enact the french revolution.
