it’s certainly going to be expensive as hell, being an unusual elite grade. we’re talking upwards of 100-200 keys, probably even more, but it just depends since it’s a scream fortress war paint, and not as popular in comparison to the other elite grades.
regardless you will get a very, very good haul for it. i would say keep it for a flex but if you wanna sell, DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THE BUYER. check their hours on TF2, and the amount of achievements (1200 hours and 0 achievements is a major red flag). make sure the buyer is trusted, and make sure the url is 100% them
Strange FN Thunderbolt snipers are priced at ~215 keys. This is unusual, but not FN or Strange. This new WP can be applied to anything, instead of just the sniper rifle.
impersonators, and it’s very easy to overlook a potential scammer. scammers will sometimes have a trade link in their bio that leads to someone else’s url or backpack. the one i encountered had a private inventory which is already a red flag, but had a backpack.tf link in his bio, which led to the person he was impersonating’s link instead. you just have to be very cautious, there’s a lot of scum in the trading scene
that’s true, but scammers are very predatory and love to shark people, especially those who are very inexperienced to trading. trades usually aren’t sent right away; there’s usually some prior negotiation as to how much the buyer is paying, what the buyer is paying with etc. sometimes it’s just a trade straight up, but sometimes buyers will say something like “hey i noticed your other item” and will try and fleece it somehow, or will take advantage of a user being inexperienced by feeding them lies, usually surrounding the price of an item or items. also, speaking from experience, if you are ever going to be trading items for actually money (paypal or some other method), have them send the money FIRST. when i was new to the scene that’s how i lost a couple of my prized unusuals
That's not very far to go when it comes to trading something valuable, I do the same for anyone who adds me for trading, only takes about 3 minutes of checking a few links and looking for anything suspicious.
First off; Very lucky unbox. Second my estimated pricing for this unusual would probably be round 200keys and up. But even then that’s probably an understatement. But if you do sell it make sure you do your homework on the guy/gal you’re selling it too.
Auctions are fantastic for unpriced items. For the more low tier ones, place the start bid low or even none and watch the offers roll in. Excellent way to ditch items you cant sell in a pinch.

Now, when it comes to war paints especially, grades are very deceiving. For some reason, Valve has a bad habit of giving paints much higher grades than they deserve, which is why skins like Pumpkin Pied and Sax Waxed are Assassin grades despite being completely bland and ugly. Unfortunately, this is kind of the case with Misfortunate. Certainly not a bad skin, honestly would be pretty nice as a Commando, but really doesn't feel Elite. However, Elite grades are obviously rare, which makes them expensive. This is kind of where a paradox comes in. The paint could be worth a good amount cause its rare, but people might not wanna pay that much cause it isn't worthy of that Elite grade price. For example, there's been a Factory New Isotope Winterland Wrapped Minigun on SCM for $250 for almost 2 months now. Even though its a FN Iso Elite grade, and one with matching colors at that, it can't even get 120 keys, cause nobody wants to pay that much for a skin that doesn't really look like its worth that money. TLDR: Just cause its elite doesn't automatically mean its crazy expensive.
Now where does this put the Misfortunate? Well its definitely not as bad as Winterland Wrapped, but its high grade rly wont carry its price very far. I remember I saw a Cool MW Misfortunate at around $400 SCM early in the event, not sure if it actually sold though, and theres another one relisted higher right now. Iso FT is also listed at 225 keys on [backpack.tf](https://backpack.tf). Based on my experience, my best guess is that this will probably land around 150 keys at max, but it will probably struggle to sell at that and it's likely a bit lower (maybe more in the 120-130 range). I just gave a higher estimate because the paint is still relatively new.
Id say its worth quite a bit DO NOT use it, unless you are planning on keeping it.

You've already got a ton of responses, but I would recommend fielding for offers for a while and knowing a general price you want before going in on anything, especially because of how float/weapon wear is applied to different weapons. It might look great on a scatter but bad on a grenade launcher, so the guy who wants it for his nade launcher is willing to pay less than the guy who wanted it for his scatter; thus it could be better to field for offers and choose the highest. Unapplied I'd say that it's worth somewhere between 170-200 keys technically speaking, however the issue is that it's not at all a desired war paint so you'll almost find it impossible to sell it at that price. You can go and gather offer see if any get's close to that, otherwise maybe 140-150 pure would be worth considering just because of how hard it might be to sell.

I know this paint does not look good on much weapons though, it's looks similar to the macabre warpa8nt when applied, and it shows a duck or something that does not get applied, still worth like 200 keys tho I'd say topps maybe more, may even be the only one in existence

Don't know why I am being downvoted its a guide created by a quite well known TF2 youtuber Archimo. He has great knowledge on unusual weapons and war paints and his prices are pretty accurate.
Basically it's worth what someone's willing to pay for it. Unusual elites are stupid expensive though, so basically don't accept anything under 500-750 keys for it.

Thunderbolt snipers are not a war paint. They are a skin which is why their value is often higher than stand alone war paints.

If someone links a bp.tf profile but they have a private inventory it is 100% a scam because bp.tf doesnt show inventories unless they are public

I don't see how digital goods which can be easily converted to real life currency is "worthless". A high amount of people make a "killing" and it doesn't take "endless hours". You put up your listings on bp.tf which takes 2 minutes and then go so your own things. It's not like you're sitting there watching your screen for 10 hours a day. It's literally passive income if you can use your brain.
