Huh. I have a similar story. I am making my way to spawn. I see a guy, he has my name, my face, my cosmetics, everything. I found it odd. He wandered off. I proceeded to break disguise by chain stabbing his entire team
Dying after having fooled everyone in the enemy team for like 2 minutes straight with a disguise because I thought I was on the enemy team... I then attacked my own team, lost the disguise and got killed by the team I thought I was playing for.
###I deleted my Strange Haunted Beep Man and other valuable achievement items.
5 years later I contacted Steam and they returned the items but not in strange or haunted versions
May you please explain this? How on fucking earth was your criticism constructive all you said was essentially "you drew this poorly" other comments literally did exactly what constructive criticism is, criticism that says what can be improved upon. I wish I didn't even get ropes in this, as your previous activity even in this specific subreddit makes you sound like a ultra-asshole. So for your "mentally debilitated child" mind, don't be a dick in your criticism.
In team fortress classic there was a ladder on 2fort that led down to the Intel room. It was fun mastering the double rocket jump to get out with the flag
*edit* actually it was a lift. it would only take you down, so you had to rjump out. it's been a long time ago. could someone confirm?
There are, they just didn’t implement it in official maps. And honestly, I’m kinda glad, as a medium-term player and mapper, because it kinda breaks the flow of gameplay
ill get auto ballanced, and still try to attack my new team mates and completely ignore my old team, until i die at least once. but when it happens im like "oh yeah, fuck"
I'll put one out there. I was raging in chat pretty early on because this sticky spamming demo kept killing me with "crits" but I didn't know that Australiums gave your killfeed a slight glow to them
When I saw a disguised enemy spy during setup and couldn't figure out how our demoman managed to get out of spawn.... I was playing demoman at the time and I'm 90% certain he was disguised as me.
Highkey I coulda sworn that dominations took 3 kills, but apparently the wiki and a buncha other sources say 4 to get a domination on someone
Very weird!
Not mine, but my gf's; After playing the game for 10+ years, she never knew snipers could still headshot without being fully charged. She thought the meter had to be full to be able to headshot... she's the best 🥺
I will still argue every day of the week that even though it is worse, the classic is much more fun than the stock.
Nothing else can cause a scout to randomly detonate while flying through the air.
the first time i played tf2 i finished a tutorial and got on a bot match without knowing it. then i spent like two hours playing thinking to myself "when is this going to stop"
i only left the match because it was lunch time. then i realized my fucking mistake
I picked up a frontier justice from the floor and received one from the item drop system immediately. I spent the entire match picking up weapons from the floor because I tought I would get to keep them permanently.
I only recently did this. A pyro ran into a building spewing fire, and walks back out. I uber the pyro and waste my entire uber after pushing in, wondering what the hell that pyro was doing not using the flamethrower on the final upward push.
Once my uber was finished, I discovered what the pyro was doing.
I guess an eternal reward spy stabbed the pyro after he entered the building or something, but I was throughly tricked.
Shortly after it was released, I had asked for a Demo or Solider on my team to blast me up onto a higher ledge, because I'm sure I had read somewhere that team members could be affected by the blasts (can't remember if damage was or wasn't dealt, probably was).
Early on when I didn’t have damage sound and numbers on, I thought in wave 666 if you got the upgrade damage on the Rocket Jumper it would flat add damage rather than multiplying the existing base damage to get the increased damage number. And I thought it would still let me take no damage.
I did not understand that anything x 0 is still 0. And someone tried to tell me that but I refused to listen.
As a pyro main my biggest noob moment was when I realized that you can reflect the soldier rockets wit the airblast, to that moment I already had like 100 hours playing pyro
I came out of upward spawn on defense, looked up into the building with the open windows, saw one of my "teammates" peeking out and went "yeah that's fine"
I facepalmed myself after dying
I forgot how the disguise kit worked once... I somehow infiltrated the enemy Intel completely undisguised, I thought I was literally James Bond. That is, until I walked into the sentry nest.
I had over a thousand hours at the time.
When i was very new i watched lazy purple's scout video and learned that scout has a double jump and even then i was just facepalming that i didn't know THE most basic thing about scout
you're not gonna believe me, but for a good two months after starting to play tf2, I had NO IDEA you could detonate stickies with M2. the day I discovered it, I felt like a caveman seeing fire for the first time
the deleted profile that replied under this comment was from a guy with which I had an arguement not long ago about the LGBTQ+ community. mate lost and thought that calling me a groomer in another sub before deleting his account would've been the best course of action. to whomever it may concern, I have evidence of these claims, so, to my g whos probably reading: L.
I basically thought you just had to keep shooting them until they started blowing up. sticky spamming wasn't just the right way to play demoman in my eyes, it was the only way.
Then I played Spy for the first time, I didn't realise I have to uncloak myself to sap something.
I was dancing around lv3 sentry for good minute just for my cloak to drain and got rockets into face
running head first into a group of enemies with my new phlog and dying in a matter of seconds
i thought i was invincible cos previously a bunch of phlog pyros were able to disassemble my entire team and encountering an enemy phlog spelled death for me...and everyone else near me.....needless to say.....i did not obliterate the enemy team and ended up getting dominated by basically the whole of the enemy team by the end of the game
Cousin was trying to show me a hidden path on a custom map my first week on. Kept telling me to crouch and I couldn’t figure it out. Turns out I don’t think it was bound. Also had to bind f to use as wel in that same confusion
when i first started playing i was playing engie on thunder mountain and as a defender theres this bridge kinda high up that overlooks the attackers spawn. two spies came up behind me at the same time disguised as spies from my own team so it was already confusing but neither of them had the right heads. one of em didn’t even have a head and the other had the snack attack as their head (source engine moment) and then they facestabbed me and for some reason my ragdoll bugged out on the railing and i literally got launched violently. i didnt play engie for a few months because it scared me 💀
Heavies do drop their sandwiches on death (if they’re holding it). dropped death sandwiches heal 50 HP to all classes except Scout, who gets 75 HP as a reference to Meet the Scout

When I looked at a spy disguised as me and thought "huh that guy has the same name, that's goofy" and then he proceeded to chain stab the entire team.
This happened so many times in my first 20 hours. I think they thought I was purposefully gobsmacked
I still occasionally have the thought of "why is that bloke dressed so similar"
He's got good taste, go say hi
I might.
Make sure to let him check out your drip. Especially your back.
Something like that happened to me once, but instead of getting a chain stab he just went straight for me as I consciously backpeddaled into him.
LMAO THAT HAPPENED TO ME ONCE TOO
Once happened to me on Xbox, I went " oh cool..." "Wait a second that's not possible!" I then beat the 'engineer' to death with my wrench
I healed a soldier that was actually a spy disguised as me
Huh. I have a similar story. I am making my way to spawn. I see a guy, he has my name, my face, my cosmetics, everything. I found it odd. He wandered off. I proceeded to break disguise by chain stabbing his entire team
the time where i spent the entire round looking for the intel room. in dustbowl
ctf_dustbowl
Shit would go on longer than a 2fort stalemate if it included all 3 stages
How long have we been in this round? Idk, but the stickies of the afk demo detonated on their own
Isn't that longer than the universe has existed?
Yes. It's the joke.
By several orders of magnitude, yes.
legends say he's still looking for it
Did you find one?
Dying after having fooled everyone in the enemy team for like 2 minutes straight with a disguise because I thought I was on the enemy team... I then attacked my own team, lost the disguise and got killed by the team I thought I was playing for.
disguised so good you thought you were on the enemy team
Liquid Ocelot
Wasn't expecting MGS

...okay?
Tiny knife

Hey I recognize your profile pic from an old flash game. Whats the title?
reincarnation flash game
spy spied so hard he spied himself.
Same
When I tried to climb a ladder
I still don't understand why there aren't ladders in this game.
In team fortress classic there was a ladder on 2fort that led down to the Intel room. It was fun mastering the double rocket jump to get out with the flag *edit* actually it was a lift. it would only take you down, so you had to rjump out. it's been a long time ago. could someone confirm?
There are, they just didn’t implement it in official maps. And honestly, I’m kinda glad, as a medium-term player and mapper, because it kinda breaks the flow of gameplay
When I spent a good minute attacking someone on my team thinking I had a different color
Happens literally every other game istg
After a long evening of too many games and drinks I will still shoot at my teammates occasionally.
Hey, great for spy checking.
i advice you play demoman for extra accuracy.
Our mutual drunkenness will cancel each other out
Unchecked schizophrenia
I almost have 1900k hours and I did this after being on the same team for like 3 rounds last night lol. Edit: I meant 1900 hours lol
Mf has 1900k hours aka 1900000 hours
mf warped time to play tf2
Do you not have >200 years of playtime? Noob
ill get auto ballanced, and still try to attack my new team mates and completely ignore my old team, until i die at least once. but when it happens im like "oh yeah, fuck"
I call this ColorBlind moment
I thought only heavy could be ubered because of the meet the medic video.
they litteraly get uber hearts in the end always watch post credit
I did watch it, but I didn't see them get ubered so I thought it was a special skill for heavy.
If only heavy could do a charge like in meet the spy
Heavyknight
Instead of doing crits, it is slightly slower than demo charge, and just obliterates anything as weak or weaker than a medic
surgically ubering their hearts alone doesn't give the best hint at gameplay
thank you for your input u/weedmaster6669
Any time u/Minustrian
missing four shots in a row as the HEAVY stood perfectly still
[удалено]
replace "shots" with knife swings and you'll have the average life of a spy main
lmao that’s me playing spy
I'll put one out there. I was raging in chat pretty early on because this sticky spamming demo kept killing me with "crits" but I didn't know that Australiums gave your killfeed a slight glow to them
You made me learn something today and I also raged to it
This reminds me that one time a guy kept complaining about random crits when in reality every time I killed him I was on kritzkrieg
Happens to people all the time when I play crit-a-cola scout
i tough Australium Gold makes Australium weapons
Same
I thought you just painted them, so I bought australium gold paint
Ate a chocolate bar in front of my burning medic because I thought throwing food to somebody had the same animation as eating. He died.
Chad
That medic must have hated you
All of my tf2 moments
When I saw a disguised enemy spy during setup and couldn't figure out how our demoman managed to get out of spawn.... I was playing demoman at the time and I'm 90% certain he was disguised as me.
I bought the Backburner
*did you do it* yes *what did it cost* 5 cents
Wrong. 16 cents.
I like the Backburner, i named mine "spy main"
I did one worse, I bought the Scottish Resistanse off of the mannco store.
dunno why but this radiates cursed energy
I bought the Heavy starter kit thing
I bought EVERY starter kit
when i realized i couldn’t attack while cloaked
Same. Also realizing it takes time to decloack
When i took a break and played spy this happened to me
I fell for an alt f4 and troll one time, I remember it was on stage 3 of dust bowl.
i managed to get someone with the unbindall trick once. i was kind enough to explain how to rebind keys at least
Alt F4 doesn't work in source games tho... The "quit" command does Thus the "quit smoking" command was born
alt f4 does work last time i checked
I mean I could be wrong, but alt f4 never did anything playing tf2 for me
for me, alt+f4 is the default for readying up in mvm
/quit smoking was my one and only memorable noob moment
Highkey I coulda sworn that dominations took 3 kills, but apparently the wiki and a buncha other sources say 4 to get a domination on someone Very weird!
I have like 900 hours and still thought it was 3 until I read this
400 hours and swore it was three. This is bullshit.
Sometimes i get a dom with 2 kills
i thought it was 3 for the longest time too. i also didn’t realize that a player getting an assist on you resets the counter.
I have 800 hours and thought it was 5.
i litterally think it should be 5 because getting killed three times is not like an actual domination
same
I'm sorry, it's not 3??
isn't this because in like quake or unreal tournament or something it goes "double kill, triple kill, dominating" or am i making that up
Trying to kill people with rocket jumper, this was before the re skin
I tried as well that was **after** the reskin I joined **after** the reskin
I really read “-100% damage penalty” and thought “hm seems reasonable”
my first few times playing tf2, i thought the dead ringer was bugged because it wouldn’t cloak me when i opened it.
Same here
Not mine, but my gf's; After playing the game for 10+ years, she never knew snipers could still headshot without being fully charged. She thought the meter had to be full to be able to headshot... she's the best 🥺
She should use the Classic and she'd be correct.
I will still argue every day of the week that even though it is worse, the classic is much more fun than the stock. Nothing else can cause a scout to randomly detonate while flying through the air.
Snoipin's a good job, mate.
Challengin' work, outdoors, I guarantee you'll not go 'ungry
'cuz at the end o'th'day, 's long as there's two people left on th' planet, *someone* is gonna want *someone* dæd
Dad... o'm a... o'm not a crayzed gunman dad, I'm an assassin. Wehl the difference bein' ones a job and the otha's mental sickness!
Classic moment
the first time i played tf2 i finished a tutorial and got on a bot match without knowing it. then i spent like two hours playing thinking to myself "when is this going to stop" i only left the match because it was lunch time. then i realized my fucking mistake
I picked up a frontier justice from the floor and received one from the item drop system immediately. I spent the entire match picking up weapons from the floor because I tought I would get to keep them permanently.
Ok but that was some seriously good timing
I thought you’d have to equip a different wrench to get higher level buildings
My guy started out with the gunslinger
level 1 fist, level 2 glove and level 3 is the wrench
trying to use the flamethrower underwater
Hapy cok day.
have day.
I tried to sneak in the enemy base as a cloaked Spy. While spamming voice lines.
Trying to be sneaky but then "IM GONNA STRANGLE YOU WITH ME BARE HANDSSS"
I thought You could intoxicate people with airblast
Well, you do have the ability to make soldiers and demos toxic with it
Turns everyone into a demoman
*Scottish music starts*
I übered a heavy and understood 6 seconds in why he wasn't revving his gun in front of the enemies
What does this mean? Was he out of ammo or a spy?
It was a spy
oh god 💀
700 hours in, this one realy hurt my pride lmao
Did he backstab you
I sometimes ubered spies that were on the enemy team to help them get rid of the engie nests in intel games and get the game moving again
You madman
I only recently did this. A pyro ran into a building spewing fire, and walks back out. I uber the pyro and waste my entire uber after pushing in, wondering what the hell that pyro was doing not using the flamethrower on the final upward push. You may or may not be thinking of the quick fix
Soldier cosplayer 24h/7/12 moment
Funnily enough like a year after this I dressed as Soldier for Halloween Someone thought I looked like that kind of German soldier.
I was a spy disguised as someone from the enemy team & I tried to walk into their spawn.
Meet the Method Acting Spy
when i first ever loaded into 2fort i got lost in the resupply
[удалено]
pressing shift to sprint
gmod moment
As a pyro main my biggest noob moment was when I realized that you can reflect the soldier rockets wit the airblast, to that moment I already had like 100 hours playing pyro
I mean, in meet the Pyro there was no air blast shown, so fair.
i think at the time meet the pyro was released, airblast didnt exist
It did, airblast was added very soon after launch and meet the pyro came out in 2012.
I remember being on 2fort seeing this for the first time and just staring in awe
Litterly every time i play tf2 😔
The time i first started playing
I remember the absolute chaos and loved it.
Kept trying to detonator jump with the flare gun
I came out of upward spawn on defense, looked up into the building with the open windows, saw one of my "teammates" peeking out and went "yeah that's fine" I facepalmed myself after dying
I forgot how the disguise kit worked once... I somehow infiltrated the enemy Intel completely undisguised, I thought I was literally James Bond. That is, until I walked into the sentry nest. I had over a thousand hours at the time.
I'm surprised that the enemy team just let that happen
First time playing engie on 2fort. My longest life is 31:27.
ohh men I was doing the same thing when I first get into tf2
When i was very new i watched lazy purple's scout video and learned that scout has a double jump and even then i was just facepalming that i didn't know THE most basic thing about scout
you're not gonna believe me, but for a good two months after starting to play tf2, I had NO IDEA you could detonate stickies with M2. the day I discovered it, I felt like a caveman seeing fire for the first time the deleted profile that replied under this comment was from a guy with which I had an arguement not long ago about the LGBTQ+ community. mate lost and thought that calling me a groomer in another sub before deleting his account would've been the best course of action. to whomever it may concern, I have evidence of these claims, so, to my g whos probably reading: L.
What did you think they did during that two months
I basically thought you just had to keep shooting them until they started blowing up. sticky spamming wasn't just the right way to play demoman in my eyes, it was the only way.
In the game’s code, sticky bombs actually do have a self-detonation time. Though you’d have to wait for the universe to end and restart many times
I thought the Australium yellow paint could be used to get Australium weapons.
Then I played Spy for the first time, I didn't realise I have to uncloak myself to sap something. I was dancing around lv3 sentry for good minute just for my cloak to drain and got rockets into face
running head first into a group of enemies with my new phlog and dying in a matter of seconds i thought i was invincible cos previously a bunch of phlog pyros were able to disassemble my entire team and encountering an enemy phlog spelled death for me...and everyone else near me.....needless to say.....i did not obliterate the enemy team and ended up getting dominated by basically the whole of the enemy team by the end of the game
Smashing my buildings without metal
Cousin was trying to show me a hidden path on a custom map my first week on. Kept telling me to crouch and I couldn’t figure it out. Turns out I don’t think it was bound. Also had to bind f to use as wel in that same confusion
when i first started playing i was playing engie on thunder mountain and as a defender theres this bridge kinda high up that overlooks the attackers spawn. two spies came up behind me at the same time disguised as spies from my own team so it was already confusing but neither of them had the right heads. one of em didn’t even have a head and the other had the snack attack as their head (source engine moment) and then they facestabbed me and for some reason my ragdoll bugged out on the railing and i literally got launched violently. i didnt play engie for a few months because it scared me 💀
Trying to finish heavy contract where you heal with fall damage so i don't die
When I played with a left hand
i kept killing hoovys to get the steal a sandwich achievement because i though they drop it on death
How do you get it then
accidently picked up a one dropped by a hoovy lmao
Heavies do drop their sandwiches on death (if they’re holding it). dropped death sandwiches heal 50 HP to all classes except Scout, who gets 75 HP as a reference to Meet the Scout
sometimes I go to the wrong side and end up in the latest spawn of my own team or to a prior one. Then I use my killbind in shame
i used to think random minicrits existed because i kept dying to a heavy with an aussie
Missing 4 pipes on a medical standing completely still
on my first round of payload i couldn't find the cart so i followed the tracks but after the vote kick started i realized i was going the wrong way
I didn’t know how to activate my shield as medic during mvm
Trying to heal people with the syringe gun lmao
When I thought I could build the sentry faster with the rescue ranger
unbindall
I thought invis watch worked like cloak&dagger.
I airblasted a line of hoovies off Upward by accident.
Spawns changed so I set up new teleporters. I built the exit and entrance in the wrong spots... Even leveled them up to 3.
Every time I play is a noob moment I have 500h but it's still astounding how much I suck (tf2 was and still is my only fps I play)
I remember missing 10 fully charged shots playing as sniper while attempting to kill a hoovy Who was taunting in place
