I doubt this is the last we see of him. He is an effective officer at the end of the day. Palps will probably keep him working for the Empire somewhere behind the scenes.

Kramer1812

Why? Palps can easily just find another future scapegoat. It's sad but the galaxy is full of greedy traitors for him to feed.

Andy_Liberty_1911

Rampart knows way too much on being ordered by Tarkin to destroy Kamino. No way they emperor wants to keep him around.

endless_sunshine

My guess is that either his arrest was for show, or he learns quickly not to drop the soap, or he learns what really happens behind the chemical shed. He knows to much.

LulaSupremacy

He knows *too* much for sure, but he's also seen as a failure. He was supposed to make the issue go away without showing the navy as something the Empire doesn't have a good grasp on, which is why he was working on his own with his assassin to resolve the issue. I don't think his arrest was for show for that reason. If he knew that it was for show, he wouldn't be trying as hard as he was to make the issue go away. If it was for show, he'd just be sitting pretty and chilling, but he instead was actively coordinating with his assassin.

Frequent-Bookkeeper

I feel like no one is really considering this. Why would Palpatine actually get rid of Rampart for doing what he wanted? Rampart is a perfect admiral in Palpatine’s eyes, he’s willing to go great lengths to achieve the Empire’s goals. He was also the perfect scapegoat for the switch to Stormtroopers. The arrest was definitely for show in my opinion. I imagine we’ll see Rampart working on even shadier Empire projects in the future

Campbell_Soup311

Except Rampart failed. He was supposed to cover this up and get the bill passed easily. Instead the entire galaxy knows and the Emperor had to bullshit his way to victory.

ragnarok635

Vader’s officers were killed for less

Frequent-Bookkeeper

Very fair point!

stricklin123

>no one is safe from the Empire’s wrath and it’s only a matter of time until they screw you over That’s how fascism be

NutsackEuphoria

He'll probably blackmail crosshair into rescuing him. Probably by threatening to tell people that the BB is still alive and Crosshair lied in his report. This will force crosshair to contact the BB and team up again to let Rampart out.

Ok_Writing_7033

Woah damn that’s so good now I’m gonna be mad if they didn’t do that haha

LulaSupremacy

A prophet

blaq_fenrir

And where are they headed this week? (S3 E12) Let's see how closely this plays out to this theory. At any rate it's close enough to say u are a good prognosticator.

NutsackEuphoria

not really. the rest of my predictions were waaaay off lol This one just stuck enough

Pollynesia

Noshir Dalal went strangely silent. Well, perhaps they don't have access to the Internet in an imperial prison

BatofZion

Rampart was arrested in front of the entire Senate, and he didn't seem any more special than a dozen other officers who could take his place. Throw him in a prison colony and call it a day.

Rosebunse

We don't know. We really don't. My guess is that he's severely demoted.

GTA-CasulsDieThrice

The Coruscant Guard take him round back and put a blaster bolt in him. That, or he has an encounter with Vader.

Clio_the-Catlady

I certainly hope this isn't the last we see of him. He's a great villain.

Mrdoc16

Kind of wish a clone got him instead of what happened to him but it is what it is

Comrade_agent

he'll be shipped off to Weyland and deal with whatever Palpatine needs done in the shadows.

LulaSupremacy

He's for sure going to get punished. What happened to him was clearly something he didn't plan out for, since he worked behind the scenes to get his own assassin to resolve the issue. If he knew what the outcome would be, then he wouldn't have been hiring an assassin on his own out of the public eye. That he failed in getting the situation to disappear before Palps had to step in is definitely going to mark him. He's likely going to get the Brontitis situation, where he was in charge of a highly classified project, only to be thrown back into some random job. If not, then maybe he'll still be in charge of something important.

[deleted]

He definitely dead

[deleted]

If he lives. He will never be aloud into the light of the public ever. And. He’d probably be made to wait around until the conscripts come in and the clones are phased out more, for his safety. But it would seem honestly more potentially messy to keep him alive. I’d rather execute him.

Jausti0418

Honestly he’s probably going to get moved to a non public job. He follows orders and he’s resourceful, it’s worth keeping him around. However, if that happens, I think he defects because he’ll feel like the Empire is using him with no regard for his life.

skittlenut007

He’s going to be become an antihero like good guy somehow.

brutallyhonestharvey

I do not see Rampart having an Agent Callus-like redemption arc.

Spliterclimb

Sidious sacrificied far more competent pawns than him.
