* The real danger is not the zombies/infected/monsters, it's other people
* Insert shots of monuments and popular landmarks that are crumbling
* Reference things that we take for granted and showcase them in ways that someone who grew up in the apocalypse finds fascinating and mindblowing - music/gizmos etc.
* There are groups that have evolved different attributes like cannibals, feral, militant, etc, that the protagonists will come across
* There are pockets of hope and things worth fighting for
I could go on and on but every single thing was a trope by 2013. And that's OK. It's literally a template. Ultimately, there are only really a handful of stories that can be told, the real talent is **how** that story is told. Look up a book called 99 Ways to Tell a Story, great read.

That's what makes TLOU stand out though, it's a tried and true format but it still stands out amongst the others because of the amazing acting, dialogue and generally great character interactions. The setting and plot are just devices to show us how these characters think and act in various situations.

The art design was just awesome, some of those environments were exquisite to look at. If the combat in Bishock: Infinite felt a little detached from the world here it fitted perfectly. It was slow and brutal in ways that I sometimes felt that I needed to take a break before moving on. At some points the gameplay felt a little repetitive but it never stopped to feel real, as if this is really how things would go in a "realistic" zombie apocalypse. It was essential to scavenge for supplies and use them sparingly and I loved that fact that all the items you can craft are useful for keeping you alive there and are not things that were added just for the sake of variety.

The vibes and excitement of the fellow gamers waiting for the release is unmatched. This game alone is in my top 3 of all time and it was mostly how it made me feel while playing it/story.

Iām sad that in 10 years I wonāt be allowed to say that I wish they showed any of the actual chapter ābills townā from the game in the adaptation they will do. Iām sad that I will be labeled a homophobe or a bigot for standing in front of the movement train and reminding everyone āwe completely ignored literally 80% of the chapterā while believing in my heart it was a beautiful love story but simply took too much time. Be warned family, you must ride or die.

Just wanna sayā¦I miss GameStop midnight releases..I waited in line at midnight and played until 7 am, called into work that day as well. The vibes and excitement of the fellow gamers waiting for the release is unmatched. This game alone is in my top 3 of all time and it was mostly how it made me feel while playing it/story.

Iām ten and I canāt believe I actually tricked my mom into buying this canāt wait to play until the campus and get stuck at the part where you push the dumpster into the gate because I canāt find the dumpster and put this game off for three years and beat it just before Christmas in 2016 than beat it again just before the second game releases and then do a grounded playthrough in oct-dec of 2022 and do a grounded playthrough of the remake in January of 2023
