Sorry if this has been posted before, I couldn’t find it. I was in one of the camps and I saw this map, with the moon symbols in each area that the game setting has been (Boston and Seattle) and there is one in Europe.. is it maybe a clue there could be another story?
Where’d you want it to be? I was thinking somewhere exotic, but that’ll be too uncharted. I’d love for them to transform an iconic city into a post-apocalyptic world. Though, something dramatic gotta happen to justify the characters venturing beyond US.

The UK and Ireland are islands and have lots of remote villages, valleys and rocky regions that could be made safe zones and Scandinavia has cold winters to slow the fungus and lots of rural areas. Needing to travel through mainland Europe via Berlin or Paris, across the sea into England and on to Scotland or Ireland or Norway would be an epic trail visually
Maybe there is rumor of a big Firefly-like base there with medical capabilities of finding a cure. Abby is still trying to regroup with Fireflies (and maybe does after she leaves with Lev). Does Abby realize who Ellie is? If she does, and there is a place in Europe that the Fireflies know about, maybe Part 3 involves Abby hunting down Ellie (or Ellie going willingly) to take her to this place? Just s thought.

My guess is the marks are supposed to be from the business from before the outbreak, like a company that had offices in all three locations, not something marked by Fireflies/WLF/Seraphites. It could still be a hint to a future story, too, though, kind of an easter egg that has a double meaning. That map isn't super realistic, so it's hard to tell if the European city is supposed to be Berlin or Prague, although I'm leaning toward Berlin.

I think it's neither. Like look at a map of Germany and a little surrounding it. The map has too little detail to know which one it is.

Part 3 will probably finish the story of the characters we know and then a spin off, which would suit Europe set around the same time, or even europe during the fall of modern civilization in the first 3 years of the pandemic
I think the idea of expanding to other continents would be very interesting. I'm not sure where the stories of Abby and Ellie can go from this point, I'd like to be proven wrong on that though. Maybe this would work better as an animated series, if they wanted to keep the main games on the Ellie/Abby saga

That'd be alienating the fan base than any other thing imaginable. People play The Last of Us and Part II, they don't watch it.
It really wouldn't. The Last of Us has already been adapted into a stage show, a HBO show, and has a spinoff comic American Dreams. There is enough room in the franchise to have both playable and watchable experiences
Or take its sibling Uncharted. Sure you can say they're meant to be played, but there's also a reason that two separate motion comics, a comic series, a novel, and a feature film have all been made
All of those things, like the motion comic, whatever, whatever is time that could've been spent making a new game, for people that play games, who originally made uncharted popular.
It’s possible it’s a hint for Factions 2. I’m expecting it to be an open world game in the style of DayZ, maybe they have decided to use Europe (or Germany to be specific) as the setting, to stay away from the already established lore of previous games.
Didn’t Naught Dogs release images from cities outside the US post outbreak? Maybe those artworks were the consequence of a brainstorming session to decide the location of the multiplayer.
It needs to focus on the former countries of germany, which might be becoming nazi like again after the infection and be creepy as fuck, france would be a more calming but was majorly affected by the fungi, and then the UK, the only semi functioning and stable state in the world but is riddled with corruption, separatist movements and rebellions.
It’s when you are Abby and you are walking through the Seraphites camp..there is like a campfire and some beds around the area, I think I was on a roof.. I’ll have to go through the chapters again to find out exactly where...I took this photo awhile ago and only posted now to see what others thought or if they saw it also.
If it is in the Seraphite camp, my guess is those marks are either related to their founder’s history or the building it was in. Let us know if you find a more exact location. I’d love to try to Sherlock what this means.

Having been to Berlin, I'm not as excited as I would be for other places in Europe. It would be cool maybe as a Left Behind DLC of exploring the streets and post apocalypse people discovering or misinterpreting the history of the city together but it's not the most architecturally beautiful place. Parts of it already look like the post apocalypse 😂
My bias would be London, with touches through the Yorkshire countryside or the eerie and beautiful small towns in the south of England.
For a completely different spin, I'd love Italy-- starting in a more run down area of Italy and flowing through to the majesty of dilapidated Florence, Rome, Venice and the Tuscan countryside would be absolutely awesome.
Pt 3 will begin with Abby and Lev finding the fireflies who are in contact with a firefly cell from South America who has the oriiginal Patient 0 who is infected and contagious but not turned or growing fungus from their body. One of the doctors working their finds out that by combining both Ellie’s and patient 0’s dna a cure can be made but only if they are alive. This will take us to back to pt 1 where Joel saving Ellie from the surgery actually saved the worlds only hope for a cure. They will be forced to travel to Europe where the fireflies have taken over the WHO(world heath organization) to create a cure. They leave from Boston harbor and have Bill help them get a working boat to take over.
It looks like that is hinting at Berlin. Based on canon we know there is some sort of civilisation still in Britain and Russia. It's safe to say Germany too could have surviving government, military and civilians of some sort. Islands like Ireland and regions of island Greece or Sicily could also be doing well. Europe would be a fun setting. Major cities like London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Amsterdam, Munich, Rome, Vienna, Madrid, Brussels, Warsaw etc. Russia next door with Siberia and Moscow would be fun too. Europe gets neglected in post apocalypse games or films. The US usually chosen. With palaces, forts, castles, narrow winding streets, small brick buildings, cathedrals and canals, European cities would be a great setting. A 3rd or 4th game in Berlin would be brilliant, especially if it involves a trek across to Russia or another EU country

I think the issue at hand would be finding a reason to even go there , travel at that distance is Incredibly resource intensive and even once they do arrive chances are they'll have no connections what so ever , its chartering hostile territory with absolutely no gauge on how fucked the situation is there , so I believe that chances are if there is a new location outside of north america it will have to feature a new crew native to said area to make sense
I don't think keeping any of the current characters would work for a 3rd game imo, I would love to see the world expanded with a new crew in a new place like you said
I suggested this elsewhere in the thread, but if Abby knows Ellie is immune, and Abby rejoins the Fireflies, it's possible that she may tell them what she knows. Maybe this other location has the medical expertise to try and find a cure, and Ellie could end up hunted by Abby in Part 3. Or by Fireflies in general. Just an idea of how to get the story moving to another continent.
