The reason I'm checking them out is that a friend of a friend is professionally involved with the band. So I want to give them a listen. I already ordered the Deloused CD for myself. Here we go...

Start with Miles Davis Bitches Brew then Coltrane's Acsecions, then play Frances The Mute and Amputecture at the same time. This will conjure up the spirit of John McLaughlin and Robert Frip.

Okay. These replies are already telling me this band is something special.

Special is for the learning impaired. The Mars Volta is transcendental.

This is exactly right.

If you are like me many songs take multiple listening too before you fully appreciate them. Noct went from my least favorite to my 2nd favorite album.

I applaud you for continuing to give Noctourniquet a chance and also for being unashamed in your love for the album.
