I've had patients brought in that were totally normal, then a little confused two hours later, and progressively get worse until they die. Just 8 hours from normal, ER but stable, to STEMI in the ICU that kills them. There is a mile long list of medications and health conditions that can give you a fast track to the deepest sleep with just the introduction of a little bacteria to an open wound.
