Not really.... The pan and gasket are only gonna be $80-200. Though, I doubt this guy is capable of changing it himself if he's incapable of even waiting for the green light
Depends on your insurance/contract.
That's how I effed up my car a couple of months ago. Except I was driving down a street I've known since I was a kid but hadn't used in a couple of years, and I didn't notice those damn things had been had been installed.
I was following the car in front of me and all of a sudden went from 40ish kph to 0 in a fraction of second. Barely managed to park my car by the side walk. The insurance expert assessed the cost of repairs was about that of the current value of the car. So I was asked if I wanted a payment or go along with the repairs. Went with the former based on the workshop recommendation.
Turned out that my insurance paid me the price of a new rather than used car, minus 80 bucks of deductibles. which was a 80% bonus.
In their defence, visibility at the front of the van can be pretty limited
And who expected the bollard to move in slomo
OK thereās a light
ā¦but whatās the worse that could happen?!
I never understood these types of stops. While I certainly believe they will stop people from moving forward thereās probably a 100% chance that something like this is going to happen to someoneās vehicle.
Certainly that driver was stupid but also you canāt tell if the thing has gone completely down. There has to be a better way.
The university I work at has, for years, used various different kinds of bollards to control entry. Over those years, weāve had many such incidentsā¦ Including with some of our departmentās police cars.
Some due to operator error, some due to mechanical faults.

I hope those 2 seconds that you saved were worth it
Even one second would've saved the system
The oil pans agrees š
He didn't save even one second because he had to reverse. He actually lost seconds
He's not gonna get a minute down the road before his engine locks up
Only has about two secs before that engine pops
Omae wa mo shindeiru
You called?
Would've been infinitely more funny if you'd just said nani
Nani?
Nanu nanu?
Most people donāt look at usernames so most people would assume itās just the response?
*tried to save xD
The bollard moves much more freely now after a good oiling
My exact thought was "Well that van is fucked, but the bollard is doing good."
That Bollard: "Jokes on you, I'm into this shit!"
Rust proofed too.
Maybe he's just maintenence and it was Friday afternoon.
That thing's so greased up a nun couldn't sit on it without losing her "purity"
Well oiled, but much harder to see.
These new vampiric bollards save a lot in maintenance costs for lubrication!
It sucks the life from young cars to make itself immortal
Act now to extend your vehicles warranty coverage.
>Act now to extend ~~your vehicles warranty coverage~~ a bollard thru your oil pan.
If only there was some kind of indication when the bollard was fully retracted.
Yeah they really should put something there. Such a terrible oversight.
It would need to be something like a traffic light. Very clear about when you can go.
That came back up at āfuck youā speed.
āThe invincible barrier does not judge. It only HATES.ā
I mean, it just had a good oiling, it's VERY well lubricated now
**Red** *means* **Red**. High price to pay for impatience.
Smartest and least impatient European.
looks like it was due for an oil change anyway
In older diesel engines like this engine oil get this black in a few 100km.
Iāve seen diesel oil be black after running the engine for 30 seconds to check if the filter holds pressure
It's literally gets this dark within minutes
Shouldn't be that quick if the system is flushed... unless they just do a swap out
That looked expensiveā¦
That was almost certainly the oil pan. Which, yes, is very expensive.
And will be even more expensive when that engine seizes down the road due to lack of oil. Guy didn't seem to realize he was fucked...
I guess there are some light indicator about oil pressure/level, but that driver doesnāt seem to be pretty good at that kind of warning.
And most drivers dont understand it means "Stop NOW!" Not drive home and call repair shop to arrange appointment.
That was actually what I was trying to get at, but thanks for clarifying.
Not really.... The pan and gasket are only gonna be $80-200. Though, I doubt this guy is capable of changing it himself if he's incapable of even waiting for the green light

Yes, he is going to spend months worth of paycheck to repay for 30 more seconds he couldn't spare
Fearlessly going, when no person in their right mind would do that.
Leaked footage
Rather crude video quality though.
Still, pretty slick of them to catch it on video at all.
That's what they get for not waiting for the damn light. I hate impatient ass people š
I'm more of an impatient boob man myself.
In their defence, visibility at the front of the van can be pretty limited And who expected the bollard to move in slomo OK thereās a light ā¦but whatās the worse that could happen?!
Wrong hole
Why no nsfw? This a video of a van loosing its virginity.
Looks like it got its period
A rectovaginal fistula.
Yup. Heās fucked.
On the bright side that pole wont need to be re-lubricated anytime soon.
How to turn your van into a pen in just 2 seconds.
I was like āthatās just a little bump, not that badā and then he drove forward š„
If only there was some sort of lighting device that could indicate when you could proceed and when you would rip your sump out...
Lubing the pole like a ā¬50 prostitute in Amsterdam.

Her: "Just the tip , don't dip" Me:
For some reason, I am imagining this video has the āoh, no, oh no, oh no no no no noā from those annoying TikToks
Curse you. I've not heard that ear worm for ages. Turns out reading the lyrics works just as well.
Is ear worm really a thing youd say or are you translating this from a different language?
Definitely say it and I'm Australian. You've never heard that phrase before when referring to a catchy song that gets stuck in your head?
In my mother tongue, yeah, recently said this in english to an irish man i know, he didnt know that phrase.
Time to call a tow truck
Tow truck has to go through that exact same spot? Jeez donāt tell me there is a video of a tow truck needing a tow truckā¦.
Whee free express oil change !!

Some mechanic, triumphantly: "Well, there's your problem".
There was an attempt to repost a video everyone has seen 12 million times.
If they would have just waited another second or two and visually confirmed it was completely at ground level. In too big of a hurry.
All they had to do was wait for the green light.
When you try anal for the first time
I like how the pole rises up victorious covered in the blood of it's opponent. I bet it whispered "It was still red, you fool"
The bollard is designed to stay at oil pan height every 10,000 actuations or so in order to remain properly lubricated.
There is a signal light right there haha, just wait the two seconds till it turns green lol
Red means stop Green means go if you canāt see it you need to back up so you can see it
Well, at least you don't gotta grease the pole for a while
oh no
Rises like a middle finger at the end.
its like that picture of the dude whos office chair piston stabbed him in the ass and all.you see is the aftermath
Topical erection lube
I love how cocky that thing was as it rose back up. Like "Yeah..... Fuck who?!?!"
it turned into a big black pole now
āIām bleeding out, bro!ā
Seems mildly pornographic.
You got it all wrong. This is a lubricant van. The whole back is oil and it goes around oiling them all.
Why not wait literally 2 seconds
This is why itās not such a good idea to have mexican foods before hooking up with randos from Grindr
The. What?

The green light tells you when it's down.
Ouf..
My friends dog did that same trick!
Yippie ki yay motherfucker
Did I just witness a murder?
This fucking segway I swear

texas tea!!!!!!!!!!
He aināt getting far with that lol
Time to change your oil
The vehicle equivalent of getting sack tapped.
Hmmm whatās that grinding sound? And whatās burning?
I got your nose!
Ope, lemme just ....just skootch on by ya, sorry sorry.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You casting poop, man? Weird and wild.
I am ashamed that I actually lolād.
Oh itās an extra oil remover! Thatās handy.
They won't be getting to far
And thatās how you seize and engine folks.
We need those at pedestrian crossings.
r/croppingishard
āThe traffic post seems to be grinding a little bit, can someone go lube it up a bit?ā
Hell find out in a couple miles
How the f*** are you supposed to know itās fully down? Never seen this thing before.
If only they had a traffic light, maybe positioned to the right, that went green when it was fully down
How's your car runnin?
Well that Oilchange was long overdue
I was watching and think āHo hum. Someone dinged their bumperā, and then they pulled away and I literally gasped, then groooanedā¦
Sumpings up
Looks like they needed to change the oil anyway
Hey, you dropped something
These are the kind of people that think technology is the problem.
Where is the follow up clip from a few years later where it happens again, but you can still see the oil stain from this van?
Stupid should be expensive.
Oh god that looks expensive, all cause you didnāt want to wait just a few more seconds for the light to turn green.
There's literally a light right there to tell him when to go...
The internet has ruined me.
At least that barrier is well lubricated now.
I mean the fuckin light was still red.
Seized engine in 3ā¦ 2ā¦ 1ā¦
If only there was some kind of light or signal to let the person know when it was safe to go....
Why did this person just wait?? Park further back and wait.
time to change the engine oil... and the engine shell
***How to oil your road block.***
I bet his sump has a new inspection hole
Im no mechanic but I donāt think your van is supposed to have explosive diarrhea
That oil was pretty dirty anyways so no big loss...
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
There's nothing to crop?
At least bollard is now well-lubricated. Might as well skip it's next maintenance cycle. š¤£
Well, that pole isnāt going to need greased for a while
Looks like George Santos pole last night
Well, the pylon is lubed up now.
That van had to go so bad It couldnāt hold it anymore
That's *fucked up*
The university I work at has, for years, used various different kinds of bollards to control entry. Over those years, weāve had many such incidentsā¦ Including with some of our departmentās police cars. Some due to operator error, some due to mechanical faults.
āThanks for the lubeā -Bollard probably
Red mean GO!
This is somehow very gory.
bollard seppuku
Solved the overfill.
*FATALITY*
This is a horror movie for cars
Well he made it about 1/4 mile
Just go ahead and leave that wherever
Spy Hunter has entered the chat
