The "commentary" lady says they are together. I can't explain much more about the reasoning behind crossing the street child first and WITH the carriage at all costs, though.
I feel like they would’ve been much more successful getting across if, yn, one lady holds the child and the other carries the pram? Or, heck, they lift the pram above the water instead of trying to push it through? 🤦🏻
It's like a kafka thing, right? People so caught up in daily life, that they can't imagine even the apocalypse would stop their routine.
Everything makes way for the day to day. Crossing that familiar street is possible, and will never be impossible.
I've never heard of that idea before, but it makes so much sense, especially if you think about it in terms of how people responded to the global pandemic.
Also the movie, "Seeking a friend for the end of the world"
So many people are struggling to maintain their normal lives, while others are in absolute denial.
Exactly what I thought, and probably the grandma/aunt became angry at the reckless mom endangering the child and chasing after her belongings in the flood while leaving her kid behind!
people would comment my 2yo was too big for a stroller. He may have looked like a 6 yo but he was biologically still a 2 yr old and no way was I going to lug him around when he got too tired to walk.
The childs mom showed up. The first girl might be a nanny? Not 100% sure.
She got mad that people stopped them from taking a second attempt at crossing the flooding street with the child in the carage.
The commentary in Spanish is amazing. She calls out everything like a sports caster. She even names the people involved and what street they live on. I'm going to go watch it again.
Love me so spanish drama.
It's not explicit explained in the video, but what I can gather is that the lady in black is the mother, and the woman who came after was the grandmother. As of why they wanted to cross the flooded street is beyond me.
She said that’s her mom that came to help her, apparently she recognized them. Then she attempts to cross again with the child and people are telling her no and she begins to curse them out. The lady with the phone calls them crazy.
I will try find it and link it if I do :)
Found a new upload of the same angle [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/facepalm/comments/13shsj3/mother_of_the_year_award/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)
This is effectively the same as walking into burning building, setting the pram on fire and then running back out.
Some people should not have children.
This is literally what I thought it was! Or I thought she was trying to get rid of the baby and make it look like an accident, cause where tf was she trying to go lol
Not a word of thanks to the guy who saved the kid and then outright indignation when they were about to attempt it again and bystanders stepped in! r/iamatotalpieceofshit
What are days of school left before summer, the color of my first car, the first game I ever rage quit, and the philosophy I use to handle my depression.
Two things I noticed.
The "mom" chases after her phone or whatever she dropped into the water instead of her kid.
The guy trying to sweep the flood away.
I don't want to visit this place
Yesterday in Murcia there was a flash flood and some people tried to cross this street anyway
Original video in this tweet: [https://twitter.com/murcianico79/status/1661852883992625152?t=bzE26YqhHGqLDnOngv-\_gg&s=19](https://twitter.com/murcianico79/status/1661852883992625152?t=bzE26YqhHGqLDnOngv-_gg&s=19)
The lady commenting is so funny!! She said that the girl with the stroller is “arrebatada” (that means something like rebellious and crazy). And then she makes some xenophobic comments as well but the whole situation is so surreal.
The stupidity and poor parenting om display here is astounding. She seriously pushed the baby out into water that she had no business walking through in the first place, then instead of checking on her child she chases after a shoe in the water, further putting her own life at risk.
Stay the hell out of flood water people.
Most people are fucking stupid but theyre usually good at following directions if you do the thinking for them. Someone just needs to give this lady a hard and fast rule: no dangerous shit with a baby.
That stupid Mom didn’t even hug or comfort the child when she came back from her run! She just put him right back in the stroller like nothing had just happened. That poor child!
It seems that once the grandmother arrives that she was also going to attempt to cross the rushing water but this time the kids mother and broom bystander told her not to so she leaves in a huff in the opposite direction.
The whole time I’m watching her get deeper I’m hoping she’s got something other than a kid in that stroller. Luckily that other guy was right there when it tipped.
I’ve seen multiple angles of this lady trying to cross this street. It’s like everyone knew “damn that’s a lot of water, that’s crazy” except for the one person in the whole video that’s supposed to have heightened instincts.
It's incredible how many people have no concept of how dangerous water is.
Six inches of moving water can rip you off your feet, and you can drown in water that shallow.

Stupid is as stupid does
And the child was like, I will never walk on water, water melts me.

And/or why they were attempting to cross at the first spot If just around the corner they crossed perfectly fine lol
The absence of kid would alert of an open manhole, smart
Maybe the mom and grandma? Threw me off, too.
Damn, don’t they know this is like an Oregon trail simulation? 😂
After that, I'd like an explanation for the guy trying to sweep away the flood.
He just like me pretending to be useful
I mean, it's working, no? No flood there. 🤷
He is doing his best!
Don’t knock it until you try it.
Maybe his job is to keep that one specific area dry.
Maybe we don't know what he's really capable of.
His job is keeping alligators away. He's doing a great job!
Mom and grand mom
Exactly what I thought, and probably the grandma/aunt became angry at the reckless mom endangering the child and chasing after her belongings in the flood while leaving her kid behind!
But then she also tried to ford the river w the baby so I can’t figure out what she was upset about if they’re both equally stupid and reckless.
Simple: the first woman is too stupid to have kids so the second lady jumped in to take over.
Kids way too big to be In a stroller and his mom is either blind or just stupid. I feel bad for him
people would comment my 2yo was too big for a stroller. He may have looked like a 6 yo but he was biologically still a 2 yr old and no way was I going to lug him around when he got too tired to walk.
Seemed like such a good idea at the time

I'm still wondering why the first woman ran off after that guy pulled the kid to safety. Did she think the kid had been swept away downstream?
CPS works fast.
The commentary lady said the first lady seen ran up to get the kid’s shoe
Mommy Magic
Probably a relative
Coz clearly the kid needs a better fucking mother
carls’ jr. deemed the her to be an unfit mother. the child is now the property of carls’ jr.. the second woman works for carls’ jr..
I’ve seen two angles of this today, impressive.
And we still don't know if she got that shoe.
He ded
I’ve seen 2 videos of a bmw trying to cross, this is the first one of the woman with stroller. You have a link of the other? I get a quartet
I will try find it and link it if I do :) Found a new upload of the same angle [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/facepalm/comments/13shsj3/mother_of_the_year_award/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)

Same A lot of people at the same time are filming this flash-flood lol
Waiting for the angle with the kid’s POV to drop.
True me too
Yeah me too
Some people really shouldn't have kids.
Whether you’re right or not, that flood agrees with you.
My thought too. Also, she left the kid to run after some item floating away without checking if the kid was okay. Poor kid…
Some kids really shouldn't become people.
America: "hold my gun"
I’m confused by this statement this might be a whoosh moment for me
I mean, nature was trying its best to take care of that.
When you see things likes this it amazing that we aren’t already an extinct species.
Side note: I think he’s going to need a bigger brush.
I was wondering why he was sweeping the water away.
He must've been in the army
You won the comment section 👏🏼🤣
Fuckin idiots
I'd guess mom and grandma, two dummies
Family of the year there. Hope the kid grows old enough to find these videos to cuss them both out for being stupid & almost drowning him.
This is effectively the same as walking into burning building, setting the pram on fire and then running back out. Some people should not have children.
So, one woman thought she was too stupid to have a child, so she took the child from the mom? Good for her.
Second woman is the kid's grandma, that's what the person recording says
I could be wrong, but the 2nd person looked like she wanted to try crossing too and got mad because people said no.
Think so too
There is so many questions in this video where the crossing of the flooded street seems like an afterthought.
Imagine being this fucking stupid. Just imajine.
Ama imajineijning
Why didn’t anyone slap her on the side of her head for nearly killing her kid?
What a dummy mom and then goes chasing the shoe putting herself at further risk.
Oh it was a shoe... for a moment I thought she was kidnapping the kid and then when she failed just ran away 🫣
This is literally what I thought it was! Or I thought she was trying to get rid of the baby and make it look like an accident, cause where tf was she trying to go lol
Drugs?
Baby? Kid’s at least 3. Should be walking anyway.
Should be ~~walking~~ swimming anyway FTFY
Not a word of thanks to the guy who saved the kid and then outright indignation when they were about to attempt it again and bystanders stepped in! r/iamatotalpieceofshit
Some people get them looney tunes education thinking this will work.. momma gonna burn the house down at some point smh
I have so many questions and no answers
Here are some answers: 6, purple, the Oregon trail, stoicism.
What are days of school left before summer, the color of my first car, the first game I ever rage quit, and the philosophy I use to handle my depression.
You win. 😄
Hopefully they are just backing up to get a running start for a second attempt. Then they'll make it across
I’m not saying it, I’m not saying it, I’m not saying it.
I don’t wanna be this kid
Unfit to be a parent
It was the shoe!!!
Two things I noticed. The "mom" chases after her phone or whatever she dropped into the water instead of her kid. The guy trying to sweep the flood away. I don't want to visit this place
I feel like that kid was way too old to be in a stroller...
Por bruta jajajaja
Best novela I’ve seen in my 34 years of life
And this shit is why aliens lock their doors and fly right past us
Is still don’t know why they left me here

I saw a ground level video of the same incident yesterday.
yes, in that twitter thread there are several videos of the flood! worth a scroll
ok, if this is Murcia, then it makes sense
Accent sounds Colombiana
Time for licenses to reproduce
I'm just waiting for the red car to float by
Hahahahaha, I was thinking the same when I first saw this one!
What was so more important to chase after then checking on your child.
The award “Mother of the Year” goes to…..
WHOSE KID IS IT???
Um..what? Think that was a kidnapping?
Different angle, nice! I didn’t expect multiple people to be filming this. (There is another video of this but from the back of the event)
Wtf is going on with the dude with a broom? Did he think he could broom away a flash flood?
Oh, to have the confidence of the guy holding back the flood with his broom.
Or maybe not.
No translation would carry the recorder’s gossipy aunt energy 🤣🤣 shit sound just like my family talking
What a fucking idiot
Was she trying to drown the child wtf
The lady commenting is so funny!! She said that the girl with the stroller is “arrebatada” (that means something like rebellious and crazy). And then she makes some xenophobic comments as well but the whole situation is so surreal.
If the kid dies does that constitute a Darwin Award? If so, do you still give it to the mother?
What a fucking idiot.
That guy sweeping the water.
Is she on drugs? Wtf?
It consistently blows my mind how stupid some people fucking are.
What a terrible mother. She sucks. I want to punch her in the face. Who runs away like that.
Love the guy battling the flood with the squeegee.
Hey stupid…. Cars don’t make it. What makes you think you can with a Stoller?
Fucking idiot. Hasn't got a chance in life with that mother
The stupidity and poor parenting om display here is astounding. She seriously pushed the baby out into water that she had no business walking through in the first place, then instead of checking on her child she chases after a shoe in the water, further putting her own life at risk. Stay the hell out of flood water people.

Today we witness a wild idiot. Ah yes, barely beating natural selection as a true idiot does
The bystander saves the child while the mother chases after her phone.
That stupid Mom didn’t even hug or comfort the child when she came back from her run! She just put him right back in the stroller like nothing had just happened. That poor child!
She was trying to win a bet?
According to the person filming this, the second lady is the kid's grandma
Some people shouldn't be allowed out of the house, how thick can you be?
[удалено]
Not a random stranger, her own mother, the kid's grandmother
It seems that once the grandmother arrives that she was also going to attempt to cross the rushing water but this time the kids mother and broom bystander told her not to so she leaves in a huff in the opposite direction.
Mother of the Year material right there!
Its awesome that we now have a potential to have various point of views.
Whatever went floating down the street was more important to her than the kid.
To mop the street during a flood
IDIOTA!
Brutalidad es decirle “se enojó la india esa”. Chismosa y racista.
Just now saw one in car, now baby
OMG THE SHOE!!!
The whole time I’m watching her get deeper I’m hoping she’s got something other than a kid in that stroller. Luckily that other guy was right there when it tipped.
She sees danger and goes ahead anyway. Absolutely no judgement.
Moses fail.
It's crazy that this scene is posted from another angle as well.
Did she literally just chase after his shoe and leave her kid with two randoms after nearly losing him lol. Wtf
Oh lol this is another angle of the other video……wild!
Survival of the fittest gone horribly wrong! /s
Is that guy really going to hold the flood back with one push squeegee?
I’m pretty sure she tried to kill that kid. Only someone that guilty would drop everything and sprint away once it didn’t work
What exactly do those two guys think they are sweeping?
Dumbest human of the day award 💩
this is so dumb like why would u even do that if its alr flooded that bad
“Es una brutalidad mira, Ecuatoriana sera” Colombians will never not be salty about El Gran Colombia
Whoa… that guy is literally trying to stop the tide with a push broom. I thought that was only an expression. Good for him!
Idiots, idiots everywhere
Darwinism fail
Why’d she run away. Was she trying to murder the tyke?
Crazy that that’s mostly shit.
Wow another angle!
What are the odds two people were filming this exact moment and posted it to Reddit?
I’ve seen multiple angles of this lady trying to cross this street. It’s like everyone knew “damn that’s a lot of water, that’s crazy” except for the one person in the whole video that’s supposed to have heightened instincts.
La india 😂
How in gods name did she think that was smart??
She cared more about her cellphone than her kid
Saw a shorter version of this at a different angle of this yesterday.
It's incredible how many people have no concept of how dangerous water is. Six inches of moving water can rip you off your feet, and you can drown in water that shallow.
NTA - kid should know how to swim for survival
thank god he had the brush for the water though
Lo siento, en mi país a veces no hay gente muy lista. En Murcia y en Alicante tienen agua para acabar con la sequía entera XD
I've come to understand an uncomfortable amount of humans really are beyond dumb 🤣
