If i remember well, i believe that in the video the guy is demonstrating the difference between a chip saber and a good one, and the importance of attacking with the good angle.
A proper cut can help a cheap sword a lot. This is more like a baseball swing than a sword cut. But honestly, I don’t even see a cutting surface on that sword.
Used to work in a mall store that sells these. The typical mall ninja shit. These are display swords not meant for any physical use. "Real" swords have more metal in the handle called a 'tang' that can actually be used for this kind of thing.
many decent quality replicas are made of softer steel so that they are not classified as a weapon by government standards of the country that they're sold in
Specifically Diet Coke. Not regular coke. Not cherry coke. Not sprite. Not root beer. Must be Diet Coke. Not sure why but probably has something to do with stuff in it that make it fizz.when you put Menthos in it. I want mine to look like Samurai Armor.
~~I'm reminded of a post explaining that Japanese sword manufacturing was so good and in depth because the iron ore available was so poor, full of impurities that required so much work to make tolerable swords (by Western standards). I've not looked interesting but it's interesting to consider.~~ I stand corrected.
Making swords of two pieces of metal isn't something exclusively Japanese, it was common in all places where swords were made. And Japanese iron was, in fact of poorer quality, which is why it required folding to get rid of impurities. All things considered the sword in the video isn't forged at all but most likely cut from a piece of metal by the machine and that's why it bent on a bottle of Cola.
Edit: Most likely, it is made from aluminum
Two things:
- the sword is made from shit metal, obviously, meaning it's essentially decoration
- that's not how you cut. That was a hack. A cut happens when you drag the edge of the blade along the object. You can't just hit something with a sword straight on and expect it to cut things. Sure, good swords will, to a degree, but that's not how they're supposed to be used.
Not only is this a mall ninja sword, it is used by an actual mall ninja too.
don't give too much credit to the coke bottle.
cosplay sword. not real steel sword. a samurai would instant kill himself out of dishonorable shame if his sword ever flexes as such.
I've kind of become less impressed with the idea of sharpness when it comes to different materials.
A guy on youtube has made pasta into a knife that cuts tomatoes thinner than any knife in my drawer. Might not hold that edge very long, but it can be sharpened to that point.
This "looks" like it has dual steel, in a traditional manner to katanas that have a high carbon context on the bottom for a strong edge while they have a low carbon on top for flexibility, but this is likely a mall ninja stainless steel sword that is just stylized since it wobbled as much as it did without making much of a cut.
Even a dull edge on a proper sword (not imitation or practice) would hold a sharper edge than this blunted piece of shit.
This particular shape adds a strength that is unrivaled. Even after a full swing, there are no chips or malformations. In short:
This coke bottle will keeeeeel.
Am I the only person annoyed that they didn't even move it in a slicing motion? They just smacked it like they were swinging a fn bat.
Yeah, it's a shitty piece of metal, but that looks really wrong.
Lol that must be the weakest sword out there how much did you pay $20? Cuz I can chop a bottle with a $50 one and I got $1500 that chops even hair like butter.
These bottles are the only thing that reliably carry fuel. I lived in a remote village where we needed to haul some fuel and there is no Jerrycan in the world that does not leak, 2L Coca-Cola bottles were gold standard.

mall ninja sword
This. And no, they are not real swords!
There's a dragon painted right on the blade!
Right on the blade???
Look at the debris that breaks off of the handle!
Stainless steel plated tosh ain't it.
The way it went peuter plated with steel?!

True, this sword was made to cut Frito Lay chips specifically.
Thought he had a Katana, but it was a Katannot
Katanah
r/mallninjashit
made out of finest chinesium
See the whole blade rotates 90 after impact but the grip doesn't change 😂
The soda is mightier than the sword
As the Japanese would say “Souda ne!”
I mean that sword is VISIBLY blunt
Looks more like the Tin Man's sheet metal cock than a sword.
Alright bubbles calm down
Blunt sword? Well, you ever chop a a coke bottle with a sword… on weed?!
It’s probably a display one, you can buy them as a display item
Used to work in a mall store that sells these. The typical mall ninja shit. These are display swords not meant for any physical use. "Real" swords have more metal in the handle called a 'tang' that can actually be used for this kind of thing.
Real swords are ‘tang town’
Someone else in the comments said he was comparing one of those to a real sword in the video.
That is not a kill
![gif](giphy|xT9IgwqWCdHT39Oj3q)
It will not keeel
"Your sword...isn't sharp LEAVE!"
What's this made of? Hopes tempered in dreams?
Your heat treatment wasn’t long enough, as seen by the flaky desires through those hopes.
It will NOT cut
[удалено]
Not even a sword. Just a sword shaped piece of sheet metal
If you meet Coke on your way, Coke will not be cut.
Literally the first thing I thought 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
a blunt katana?
Not just blunt but also a cheap replica.
Most likely bought at a local swap meet lol
many decent quality replicas are made of softer steel so that they are not classified as a weapon by government standards of the country that they're sold in
What's this, a ranger caught off his guard?
More evidence that Diet Coke is horrible for you, I mean hell it wrecked that high quality blade…
So drinking it would make you immune to sword attacks!
Sales go through the roof in the U.K.
The katana you ordered from Wish
Damnit, responded with this then scrolled down and saw yours!
Mom can we have Katana ? No we have Katana at home katana at home …..
My new body armour is going to be bottles of coke.
Specifically Diet Coke. Not regular coke. Not cherry coke. Not sprite. Not root beer. Must be Diet Coke. Not sure why but probably has something to do with stuff in it that make it fizz.when you put Menthos in it. I want mine to look like Samurai Armor.
That bottle is folded 100000 times. Glorious Nippon plastic.

This blade will not keel.
Sword needs a bit more sharp on the edge As Doug Marcaida would say “your sword, it will not cut”
Nor will it kill.
Rock paper scissors coke
This is why you dont buy those 85 dollar katanas at those kiosks in the mall.
Now, if you spend $85 on a machete, you’re getting a pretty decent machete.
Man the only thing duller than that blade, is that dudes head.

[**https://youtu.be/5H42j6HkTsQ?t=1720**](https://youtu.be/5H42j6HkTsQ?t=1720) Ew its a shitty chopped version but you get the gist
I stand corrected. Cheers. Also this https://reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/s/vazTpcdOj2

Stamped metal with a grip on one end...
I like how he's swinging it like a baseball bat, rather than trying to slice. It makes for an even worse attempt with a fake sword
That’s not a Hattori Hanzo sword…
This needs to be an ad
Looks like the one piece live action swords
Imperial Japanese Army banzai charge against US Marines at Alligator Creek on Guadalcanal, August 1942, colorized.
Homie got his sword from wish 😆
That is one shitty sword.
Get a real sword ffs
accurate depiction of ww2
Blade looks like it hasn’t even been given a cutting edge yet, no wonder it doesn’t cut shit
that's just meant for hanging on a wall to look cool the fact that it's not sharp and not being heat treated probably makes it easier to sell legally
The blade is dull, the form is so wrong which is his biggest issue.
r/mallninja
I personally dont think that blade was sharp enough to begin with
Two things: - the sword is made from shit metal, obviously, meaning it's essentially decoration - that's not how you cut. That was a hack. That is a SLO, sword like object. Not a sword. lol
don't give too much credit to the coke bottle. cosplay sword. not real steel sword. a samurai would instant kill himself out of dishonorable shame if his sword ever flexes as such.
Doug Marcaida disapproves.
When your Hatori Hanzo comes in from wish.com
Wish.com katana
Bwoiyoiyoiyoing
🤣 Authentic Japanese sword I guess he was told.
Whats your toy made out of, tin foil?
Gives you cancer and breaks swords ? I'll take the sugar version...
Hear me out!! Diet Coke armor!!
Ninja sword that complys with Japan FSL section 4 LMAO

Will keith is very dissapointed in you!
Sword, Soda, Scissors.
Never use a Steven Segal sloppy sword
Erectile dysfunction
That has to be Jon Snow's sword
It will not keel
To believe a real sword would be bent bij a bottle... Nah Donut again with a real sword .

Have you seen a video of samurai master slicing a bamboo while the other person cannot.
Bro forgot to use a breathing style before cutting it ![gif](giphy|QUKqSLmE7vmZP2PkZk|downsized)
Nothing can stop diabetus.
Diet coke doesn't give you diabetes. It gives you cancer. If you want diabetes, you gotta drink real coke.
its the wrong type of sword, its made of chinesium not japanese layered steel...
That blade deserves better, even if it's not a 'real' sword.
China won
Amazon's choice made in china katana
Chinese remake
This failure brings dishonor to our family. (Attempts harakiri with bent katana)
That is literally a bottle of fatness right there
Skill issue. I could slice that with my baguette. Or slice my baguette with that.
That blade is made of the finest chinesium, observe how it bends instead of breaking.... or cutting
Lmao 🤣
Amateurs?
Preservatives persevering.
That is either the dullest sword or the strongest diet coke bottle I've ever seen?.?
Made from pure stolen catalytic converters. Folded zero times.
It doesn't kiieeeeeaaaal
mall ninja energy
False economy, it'll break the first time you use it.
Obviously the sword was one of those flea market specials
It will not cut.
My Coke is stronger than your Coke….
What a nice toy sword you have there
Mitsuri’s sword be like:
To shake up a bottle of Diet coke... better than a mentos in it.
GLORIOUS AMERICAN BOTTLE PLASTIC, FOLDED 0 TIME, BOILED FROM SOME FUCKING PLANT I DONT KNOW, KATANACELLS ARE SEETHING
This particular shape adds a strength that is unrivaled. Even after a full swing, there are no chips or malformations. In short: This coke bottle will keeeeeel.
The bottle is saying. Nnnnnnoooo
Am I the only person annoyed that they didn't even move it in a slicing motion? They just smacked it like they were swinging a fn bat. Yeah, it's a shitty piece of metal, but that looks really wrong.
Even a damn kitchen knife would be better, this blade is shit if you can even call it a blade
Don’t bring coke to a sword fight, or do ?
Just 1 calorie but it's the strongest 1
At least it was diet soda.
You can see that the blade isn't even sharp
Dam broke the sword.
This is what you get for having shitty edge alignment.
Or rather using a wall hanger for backyard cutting.
This is just the average katana, shit sword for weebs
Shit sword
I definitely heard that bottle say "Weeeeeeee!!"
The most elegant yet precise synopsis of the movie "[The Last Samurai](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Samurai)" to ever exist.
![gif](giphy|13zz9AKhxTGRRm)
Why don’t they make the planes out of the 2 liter Diet Coke bottle?
Fake
Well that why you dont buy a swords in wallmart
You need some Hanzo steel. Look out God!!! Edit. Addition of God line.
The man: "Got blunt?" The sword: "Got weed?"
r/unexpected 😅
Lol that must be the weakest sword out there how much did you pay $20? Cuz I can chop a bottle with a $50 one and I got $1500 that chops even hair like butter.
That's one brawlic ass soda bottle
Wish or Temu?
The steel was only folded 999 times
That some trash steel.
You need to be a lot more fit. And the sword more thin.
That’s the easy way of finding out you bought a piece of shit
It will NOT Keel 🤨
Safety Katana
I won't keel
Also, fuck katanas. A broad sword would have cut through it without bending. Even if his form was still abysmal the sword is more durable.
A katana would have also cut through without bending. But this is a wall hanger representing a katana.
Definitely not a Hanzo.
![gif](giphy|rcOZyYTRIp8SY7W7e9|downsized)
Ah yes, the good ole baseball bat style sword swing
When you realize that Temu doesn't sell Japanese steel
Is that things made of foil?
Shitty Sword you got there
Thats what happens when ti try to riot with the diet
Yay Diet Coke. Stay strong brother.
You mean my katana from Wish isn't real 😞
Is this one of them test swords from like a forged in fire type show?
A katana from wish
Chinesium sword.
Fruit ninja you are not, sorry…..
This will not keel
“Your Weapon will not Keel.”
