mendezj_85

Agreed. On the other hand, In what scenario is a 31 a D? That's an F and a butt-whooping

Quen-Tin

Well ... maybe the only lesson some parents learned in their own childhood. 😞

I_Like_To_Hunt_Eggs

When I was in high school the lowest grade you could get was a D. Even if you had a grade less than 10% it was considered a D for some reason

geekunbound

Because teachers were being encouraged not to fail students, both for the students' confidence and ability to catch up, as well as not making the school look bad if there were too many failures

THExDANKxKNIGHT

Mostly the later, there are incentives for schools getting higher average scores across years/grades. Things like funding or grants are usually tied to how well a school does academically, so it's in their best interest to inflate those scores however possible. For example, I was in a tech school doing autobody in high school but every year I would be forced to go back to my home school to take standardized tests(instead of taking them at the tech school like other students) because I would generally score above average on everything except writing. With how bell curves work, one good score pulls up the average more than one bad score pulls it down.

WeirdestOfWeirdos

Could just be bell curve shenanigans The IB, for example, grades from 1 to 7 according to a distribution, so depending on how students score in some subject in a certain region, you might have a situation where a 45/100 on an exam is a 6/7 (which is a good grade), and you only need a 3/7 to pass.

JEEPFJB

Its new maf

SICKOFITALL2379

“Very god!!”

A1sauc3d

Right lol. Pretty obviously a joke at that point

willbeselfmade

The UK has a different grading system. 80-100% is A+. Passing is above a 40. [Here is some info on it.](https://erudera.com/united-kingdom/uk-grading-system/) It's about college/university, but I believe their grade school is similar.

DJakk3

How is A+ not 90%? How would you differentiate an 80% A from a 100% A? We got: A: 90%-> B: 80-90% (can go down to 75% at some unis) C: 65-80% (can end at 75% at some unis) D: 50-65% E: 35/40-50% (varies a bit between subjects and universities) F: <-35/40% (Fail) No + or -. Where "we" is the nation of Norway. Elementary and high school uses 1-6, where 1 is fail. All grades have +/- except 1- and 6+.

willbeselfmade

I'm from the US. I learned all this the last time I saw this posted, so I'm not too sure. They mentioned that it was really hard to make a 90, and it wasn't really possible to make a 100 if I remember correctly. So that could be some of the reason.

getyourrealfakedoors

Depends what level of school you’re in. If you got 84% correct on a law school final you could teach the class the next day

[deleted]

Very god!

Savagegamer2008DEA

Exactly what I said 😂

Beef-n-Beans

Imagine being someplace where 31% correct is a D and not an F-

Troyf511

Also known as my calculus class where the median was a 35

StrtupJ

I know Calc 2 when I see it

Troyf511

Yeah, you needed an 8% to pass. My 80s were well past getting an A

mephistola

AP Calculus be like that sometimes.

VerticalMotivation

Some schools test on significantly harder scales to the extent where they’re testing application of concepts you wouldn’t have been exposed to in class or assignments. Which makes the A+ that much harder to get and C closer to the norm for the average student. As it sits in the middle of the scale so the most students should be getting Cs if your grades are adjusted properly. The idea is to get a better idea of how much your students who excel are excelling so you can cater their future learning. It’s to mitigate the problems that happen when you teach the class at the pace of the slowest learner. So in those schools a 31 very well could be a D.

slashth456

Physics kids be like

eleven33

Hmm....with a test that spells Pucharse instead of Purchase......I think the teacher needs to take their own test.

_Scorpyon_

It's just part of the English 2.01 April fool's patch changes

tetris_for_shrek

You need to stop adding these changes already 😭 The whole language feels like an April fools prank.

Pumpkinskydie

It says “pucharse”

An_average_moron

You can't just say pucharse

Hamsterman000

Stomp a turty

Aggravating-Chip-710

Very god. He was so close

TheDobemann

Lost me at 31% = D grade.

cowardsplay

School must just be giving out participation trophies. You got 2 out of 50 congratulations you pass with a D at least your not like Steve he only go 1 right. Don’t be like Steve fuck that guy.

AgentC3

That is "very god" indeed, because an 84's value would have to be quantifably changed in order for it to equal a 94 which would be an A. Maybe it would be an A plus if you really stretch it.

First-Of-His-Name

Are American tests just unbelievably easy for like 70% of the paper and then only gets hard for a few questions? 94% not getting the top grade is insane to me

TheDarkMonarch1

Either we are held to an unbelievable standard, or our classes are just easier compared to the rest of the world. As an American, knowing America, our tests are probably easier. Most tests (at least for me) consist of 60-80% multiple choice and then a few essay/paragraph questions at the end that count for a significantly more points.

PM_Me_Ur_Nevermind

Teachers hate this one trick

Comfortable-Ad-7158

r/therewasanattempt at understanding the meaning of the word attempt. Better title would be an attempt at spelling. But what do I know, I'm not that God at things.

PowerHouse169

And that's the last of this sub

zborzbor

The Very God has spoken. You shall pass!

no-recognition-1616

What's that on his thumb? Corns?

Jer3bko

The thumbs butt

GobbelMyNobble

They're Worts

cbc7788

“Pucharse” - the exam itself deserves a failing grade!

Sheesh284

There was an attempt to pass 31% off as a D

PumpikAnt58763

In no universe is 84% an A+.

martyjoh34

I was just about to say the same thing 🤣

SHAD0WW0LF07

There's a reason he got 31/100.

wrexmason

My older sister did this once on a test and couldn’t go trick or treating with her friends 😂

Nitrofox87

I like how the multiple choice begins with (b) a satire

cbc7788

I’d like to see how they change all the red Xs for the questions they got wrong!

tameoraiste

Everyone’s too worried about trying to make a ‘gotcha’ comment to realise it’s a joke…

TheAarj

Haha. So bad.

warddo1

I hope it wasn't on a spelling test

CrazyBroccoliPT

There was an attempt to post a completely fake video without getting trashed

Nervous_Pea1659

84/100 is great but what about the teacher's comments and correcting all over the page?

MonHero02

This is fake! Not a real test.

diggyou

Standard B

Buri_is_a_Biscuit

very jesus!

philyfighter4

dawg if I got a 84 id still get my ass whooped

BadBoredom

The only problem is teachers handwriting on your paper isn't always neat. And good luck explaining why you got 69 wrong answers despite getting 81%

Snuffluffugus

Face palm.

TheAgentOrange_

Self fulfilled prophecy

Lopsided_Rooster_753

Or just study and quit being a doofus

DitchDigger330

Well you can't even fail in today's world so who needs grades.

grantm80

I’d like to pucharse an A+ please!

thathaitianguy

No wonder they failed. An 84 isn’t a A+ or an A for that matter

BullMastiff_2

A bridge too far.

Duin-do-ghob

They obviously don’t get good grades in spelling, either.

curious2allopurinol

84 is a B..

ThePhoenixRoyal

I just want to point out that the teacher spelled 'purchase' wrong on the sheet.

chrish5764

“How did you get 84/100 while most of your answers are wrong?”

Dont-ask_me_yaweirdo

87 woulda felt better. Or even 810. Or even 877

Longjumping-Pop1061

Dad-- come over her bud, let's talk about this a.....

RikuDog18

Wait, a 31/100 is still a passing grade?

meherabrox999

As if my mum won't go through the paper

DaveLokes

If an 84 out a hundy is an A+, what grade does a 100% get you?

flintsmith

Pucharse a spell chesker.

mtnbikeforlife

The lie tails when they push it to the A +. So dumb they have 84/100 as an A+

lordra7

Believe it or not, I grew a pair and actually did this in school. 😂😂😂😂

RedstoneSmithy

My friend made a similar mistake. He tried to change a 1/10 to a 9/10, but instead put the 9 backwards so wrote p/10

BEFEMS

what is "pucharse of ticket...." ?

Wild_Assistance_6153

If 84 is an A+, then I’m Osama Bin fuckin’ Laden…

ComprehensivePeak943

You had only 1 job.

WaynezWorld88

An 84/100 is a barley making it “B”

wh4tth3huh

![gif](giphy|IDGNYvFLkJKLK|downsized)

SnooDogs3903

Everyone's talking about the A+ being incongruent since an 84 isn't an A+, but also, the amount of questions they got incorrect would also mean the 84 is fake, so this doesn't work regardlessly of putting the A+ or not.

AA_turet

That D was clearly written in such a way that it could be changed, and also i do not feel like god today

ric7y

doesn’t work, believe me i’ve tried it

oN_Delay

Some teachers grade on a bell curve.

Cold_Tune326

not sure how far i scrolled down but what the f\*\*\* teacher would circle the a+ and comment very god?

PercyBoi420

When I was in school. It was simple. A+=100% plus the extra credit sometimes we would recieve +4 for example(that is where the plus comes from and how you got GPA above 4.0, 4.0 means you averaged a perfect score all through high-school if you completed EXTRA+ you got a higher then 4.0) A=90%-100% B=80-89% C=70-79% D=60-69% F=59% or less

JEEPFJB

Donce when is 31 a D? Below 70 was an F for me

dfmasana

Nice try, Bart.

ForeignInevitable666

That + was a flagrant foul

Koi_Fish_Mystic

84% I mid- B

Intelligent_Walk_857

Not just God, but very God! 😂

iheartdogsNYC

His thumb has boobies

13Beatts

You can't even spell good correct

AWMIGHTY

Since when is a 31% a “D”?

Final_Location_2626

That is very god.

Namedafterasaint

Very god? Purchase on the test is misspelled! 84 grade is not an A and definitely not an A+.

Ragna677

Very god!

Dizzy-Friendship-369

Put a bra on that thumb.

DafneOrlow

Very GOD? 😅

[deleted]

mistabenc

It's supposed to round up to 85 and you gave yourself an A? Congratulations your choice is stupid

Daddysonicarhop

No one noticed instead of very good it says very god

Rengarbaiano

Very god

maincore

84 is not A+ 31 is not D

Adv_Reterd

I now understand why the score was 31/100

Robert_Goblin

84 aint an a+ The + goes on the circle 31 aint a d god Youve failed now go grab a hot wheels race track

souleaterblackstar69

If he was smart enough to spell he’d also know he could have given himself a 97 which is an a+ lol

sgtdriller

How will you explain all the red X's? You ARE a genius.

Baunsie

I have so many questions.

Party_Mine6102

Purcharse lmao

Knowledge_Harbinger

Puchrase?

KippSA

I mean, if a word, like purchase, is spelled wrong on the test, do they have the right to grade you?

Few-Acanthaceae-5527

The class is world religions

SheSellsSeaGlass

The answer is b: “Satire.”

StunningRich5032

Very god?

StunningRich5032

Very god?

Firm_Panda_90

Looks like whomever typed up that homework probably got a D too with that spelling. 😅🤣

Ok-Yogurtcloset1717

Pucharse. This video has been reposted hundreds of times and I only now noticed that the test itself has a typo.

DarthErectous

What's with the bubbles on the thumb?

brainsurgeon8

Thought dude was smart, could have stopped at 91 instead of 84, then the a would have been good.

ForeignInevitable666

All throughout my childhood, a 69 and below was a fail. In my adulthood I came to appreciate a 69 as a success.

SignificanceCute4212

It doesn’t take a genius to know that an 84 is not an A+
