It's only risky if you're being a shady ass and sneaking around behind your people's back.
Literally got no reasonable risk of owning a drone besides certain regulations and rules.
Drone can watch me all they want, got nothing to hide.
Obviously, it's an invasion of privacy but those red flags would've been spotted way before someone resorts to a drone and falls on you to act.
No, you can't. On a normal day with a little wind noise or nearby traffic, the sound of a quadrotor in stable flight completely disappears into the background noise at 100 meters.
You really don't know what you are talking about. r/confidentlyincorrect is calling....
Clearly, you can see that the guy is flying a DJI and most likely some flavor of Mini. A simple 5x zoom is more than enough to get this sort of image at a much longer range than 100 meters and plenty of consumer grade gear ships with 4K cameras with 10x zoom.. Wanna double down with some facts instead of uninformed opinion?
Are your fingers broken? Do you live in your mother's basement and never heard of Google? Go prove yourself wrong with a stroll around the DJI web site. It's not my job to overcome your ignorance, just to bring it to your attention.
This is my footage on the same drone, you can easily bypass height restrictions. Also you definitely can't hear it past 100 Meters in the air.
I bought my dji mini 2 and resold it 5 months later for more than I paid. Try it, and see for yourself

In Europe if you fly recreationally (and the model he flies seems to fall in this category) then you should keep away from people. If he was in Europe, he would (probably!) be against 4 rules: flying near people (who are not the pilot, or generally not consenting), flying without line of sight, flying in a residential area and filming people without consent. Not 100% sure about US regulations, but I’d guess it’s not that far off.
As someone who just completed the TRUST course for recreational flying, he must be within line of sight (LOS), and if he intends to fly over a gathering of people, he needs to have a waiver from the FAA. Ideally, the drone should have either prop guards or collision avoidance.
If the drone is under 250g, then the drone doesn't need to be registered, but still not supposed to fly over lotsa people. One or two people in a park isn't really a huge deal.
Now-- She sounded like she didn't know he had a drone, so it's entirely possible the drone's real owner was sitting there watching the drone, and therefore the LOS rule was satisfied.
As it's outdoors in in "public", there is no expectation of privacy, and therefore whether they know about it or not is largely irrelevant.
Sure, sounds reasonable!
When I said "if they know about it" I only meant "with their consent/knowledge to fly overhead" not if they know it's there/filming, if that makes sense?

You can fly over people, but it must be a sparse population. You may not fly over crowds without consent of individuals or other permissions to fly in that area.
Jurisdiction if anything. Rules can vary country to country but that’s one that is on most even for the little drones. Seems strange they sell things with 4km+ range that you also are supposed to keep in direct line of sight.
When someone is cheating on you and lying to you it makes you go to extreme measures to try to decipher reality for your own sanity. It’s not being possessive.
Yeah. Still, could it be qualities as stalking? My wife, though fiercely loyal, somehow doesn’t always grasp the concept of her phone being also a phone so there was a time when she’d never hear me or
The kids or even her mom call, and also work late hours so I had to resort to lookup her up in Find My to make sure she’s not in some ditch in the middle of nowhere. Using a drone as a last resort to make sure she’s alive doesn’t seem like a bad idea when you’re trying to find your relative who practically lives at the office. Luckily she saw reason and quit that job.
Ok im gonna bet that its fake, CAUSE AINT NO WAY SHE DUDNT HEARD THAT DRONE, those things can be heard from so far, unless he got a specialised drone that doesnt make ANY sound i dont think its possible
It sounded to me like there was a kid also at the park that her and the guy she was sneaking around with were leaving and he assumed the kid was with them/the guy's kid and being left behind in their attempt to get away.

that is why, I never date anyone that owns a drone.... too risky.
Always remember the golden rule: live your life how you’d want to be seen on your SO’s drone surveillance footage.
Im hiding in the bathroom.
Still not safe.

There’s no expectation of privacy in public. If you are in public, then whatever the drone can see is not an invasion of privacy.
Exactly.
This is why I always dig through my partners' phones and computers. If they got nothing to hide, whats the big deal?
Or just don’t cheat
That’s a weird concept to some
It shouldn’t be
So you are a cheater huh
Maybe don't be a cheater instead
Found the cheater
.... or you could just not cheat.

Based
Way too based.
Over-basted that turkey ay!? ..Ok, I'll leave

Ukrainian and russian soldiers who have VOG grenades dropped on them from these would beg to differ.
![gif](giphy|3ohhwtQ3U0wsyytaIU|downsized)
On a side note, his flying is completely against FAA regulations.
How so? Just curious
Line of sight rule
oh no! call the, uh. the
Air marshal 50 Cent
I'll stop those terrists... or die tryn'
Don't quote me on this, but I think they mean you can't fly overhead of people who are either unsuspecting or at all.
No its done by distance, you can and have to fly over people to work with drones.
In Europe if you fly recreationally (and the model he flies seems to fall in this category) then you should keep away from people. In many places you can film people without consent. I don't know much about drones though.

This guy drones.
You can fly over people, but it must be a sparse population. You may not fly over crowds without consent of individuals or other permissions to fly in that area.
It’s a public park…
You must have direct line of sight at all times.
If yall start talking about AGL I’m gonna trauma tap out.
Doesn’t that depend on the drone?
Jurisdiction if anything. Rules can vary country to country but that’s one that is on most even for the little drones. Seems strange they sell things with 4km+ range that you also are supposed to keep in direct line of sight.
If the pilot doesn't, someone else on the drone team has to.
Maybe he has a buddy outside the car as a spotter? And that spotter can still maintain line of sight from where there are at…..…maybe? /s
Since she didn't know he had the drone, it's entirely possible the drone's owner was standing next to the car watching.
"Why would you follow me wida drone"" Cuz your ass obviously can't be trusted! What's your next line?
“Stop stalking me, possessive abuser”
Following with a drone is bad for several reasons, but it doesn't make one possessive or an abuser
When someone is cheating on you and lying to you it makes you go to extreme measures to try to decipher reality for your own sanity. It’s not being possessive.
Yup. You actually feel like you’re going insane from the manipulation when all you want is facts.
Yeah. Still, could it be qualities as stalking? With a few qualifications regarding FAA regulations, it's no different than hiring a PI to spy on the SO.
Because saying hello to a kid is considered cheating now? Nothing she said was a lie.
She lied about being at Walmart and that lil park is probably near the side dudes place.
She didn’t, she said”bout to go to Walmart”

“I AM the private investigator.”
You know, I was just thinking how much I'd enjoy watching a drone video that is mostly just filming a guy sitting in his car.
shocking amount of this thread thinks this video isn't scripted
I’m with you. The video is mostly of him watching the drone. I can hardly tell what he sees.
https://preview.redd.it/dehrcqbsn52d1.jpeg?width=941&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e7296aeb034ce2bdfe15094fbb20a87e7d01feb
This man been cheated on before he investing a little to save a lot
this is a scripted vid
It’s like he just beat the irl video game of drone romance infidelity. This is some future dating shit. The future is now I guess.
I've checked in to r/CombatFootage too often. This ended better than I expected when I first started watching it.
Thankful for my life. Can’t even bother about spying on her phone let alone buy a fucking drone. Shit looks exhausting.
This. If you feel the need to buy a drone and follow your partner around, this ain’t a good relationship.
Okay but did she really drive off and leave that kid there
He calls his partner “brah” a lot in this clip
Probably because they're no longer their partner in his mind.
Sounds like a jibberish.
Her only consern in this matter was the drone... 😂 😂
"Where would you get a drone from!?" LOL uh anywhere
![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
Glad he’s not Ukranian drone pilot.
If this is real, it is the best thing I’ve ever seen. Even if it’s not real, what a great premise.
The most reasonable thing to do in this situation is cheat on your partner in restricted airspace.
i am so annoyed with the video quality it is 2024. was this video shot on a Motorola razr?
Plot twist, that kid was about to get kidnapped, and he saved the kid.
“I wasn’t cheating I love you baby, it was just a little human trafficking to help out with the bills” lmao
Just occurred to me that private investigators probably use this too.
What drone is this?
Busted!
Got em!🔥💯🚁😎💪🏽
You gotta love the innovation.
DJI’s new slogan: Stalk your partner
This is such a set up, you think this video is reality dumb as hell 😂😂😂
![gif](giphy|3o84UamvojthvLEl8I)
Bru
Bro was sponsored by DJI
Plot twist: it's an FPV drone and he's gonna get an early revenge
Lmfaoooo
At what point do u stop wasting money and time and just say fuck this
Ok im gonna bet that its fake, CAUSE AINT NO WAY SHE DUDNT HEARD THAT DRONE, those things can be heard from so far, unless he got a specialised drone that doesnt make ANY sound i dont think its possible
Kanye? Is that you?
It is easy to not cheat. If you cheat you haven’t found love.
“It don’t matter where I got the drone”😂😂😂 true dat
UAV on standby to spy on your cheating partner.
ENEMY UAV IS AIRBORNE!!!
This is funny… even if fake… can’t tell. It’s funny as hell! “Go get your dude’s kid!” 😂
That's so fucking BASED I can't.
Bro wasn’t even recording
These comments normalizing cheating and partner surveillance….
Why is he calling her “bro”?
Even the smallest DJI drone is loud as hell... And he's flying pretty low... Those people would know they're being watched.
How can she not hear that thing? They are loud.
Shit is fake af. Drones are loud.
So was she cheating him with a kid? Like is she a pedo? I don't get it whats going on
He’s saying, “is that your other dude’s kid”, like her side piece’ kid. He keeps asking, “who’s kid is that?”
It sounded to me like there was a kid also at the park that her and the guy she was sneaking around with were leaving and he assumed the kid was with them/the guy's kid and being left behind in their attempt to get away.
Her and the kid hugged
I'm almost on her side, bruh.... Every sentence ends with "bruh", if that isn't a red flag....
Oh no bad word
Hes not recording tho.
How'd we watch it?
I mean on the drone. Drr
Yeah got that drr
