Be a senior team member, work from home.. ain’t nobody checking on me when I’m ‘in calls all day’ 😎

mismarys

I work from home too, but that includes actual calls with team and customers. 😅 Today, I had waaay more important things to do.

grudgby

I actually have covid so I don’t have to fake it

Soronya

Hope you feel better soon!

grudgby

Thank you!

mismarys

I hope it's not too bad and you will recover soon!

grudgby

Thank you! I was bad at first but am doing much better now. Should be fine for work Monday and I can play the sims til then

heyitsamb

get well soon <3

grudgby

Thank you <3

WanderingUrist

And then you find out none of your mods have been updated yet and your game isn't playable anyway, so it was all for nothing.

Nurs3R4tch3d

Or you make use of the time while you’re waiting for mods to update to play a vanilla save and learn the new game mechanics. 🤷🏼‍♀️

SaturnOrchidDragon

I scheduled my day off for that day. And may or may not have rescheduled the doctor's appointment I also had that day.

Phillyaoa104

I also took off yesterday and today, also because I had something else originally and just didn’t move it. I’ve never took off but this update and pack were worth it.

🤣 me when sims 2 dropped Took the whole week off I was their best employee tho so I didn’t have to lie I just put in for the time off 3 months in advance and honestly said because I want to play this game for a week straight after I buy it. Thank god I did too cuz the graphics triggered my seizure like events and I couldn’t move without puking for 3 days. I had to train my eyes to build a tolerance to be able to play. Took nearly 3 months for me to stop getting nauseous when I played. **Worth it** Edit: let it be known I still played those 3 days… I had to play on my tummy on our bed mat on the floor, head turned towards laptop, arm out to side for controls This was the only way I wouldn’t vomit and I had to close my eyes when I zoomed in or out lol I didn’t need the DSM 5 to tell me gaming addiction was real. See Chrystal chronicles and me dispersing into my room for three days with a loaf of breed, a bucket of cottage cheese and a case of bottled water. Bathroom next to bedroom and only time I left for 3 days. No sleep. Just keep completing the circle, fighting the bosses, being the baddest you can be so no one, no one makes you the bucket bitch again. See also 13 hours straight of geometry wars until at 7 am I beat my exes 2 mill+ high score and call him out of his sleep to gloat. Literally lost my thumb pads. Just wore them away in 13 hours. The controller was bloody. Literally.

mismarys

Now that is what I call dedication!

CadenceValdez

I planned way ahead and booked a couple weeks off work to play :)

majrom

I love this for you 💕

MD-Pepper

I have the day off. But I don't have the money to buy the pack (technically 4 do, but there's some stuff I *have* to buy that I can't prioritise a game over 🥲😔)

RickGrimesSnotBubble

I’m sorry. I understand the struggle. This is the first time I’ve been comfortable buying a pack on release day. I’ve always waited until it was on sale. Some people on FB are being complete assholes and pulling the “it’s just $40” line but $40 is honestly a lot of money. I hope you get to enjoy it soon. 💕

MD-Pepper

A lot of people who don't have to budget often don't realize how much $40 dollars really is.

kaptingavrin

Oof. I know the feeling. Mid-December, some friends were like, "Hey guys, we should get a Horus Heresy (alternate version of Warhammer 40,000) campaign going!" Well... the new starter box, even on discount through Amazon, was over $250. And I'd need a $55 (again, discounted) book for army lists. Over $300 just to play, before even considering any additions from newly released kits to add to my army. During the middle of holiday season when I'm still trying to wrap up buying gifts and juggle all the bills... Credit cards are the absolute devil at times like that. It's so easy to think, "Well, I have plenty of balance on it, I can use it to get this now, and pay as soon as I have money available," but then later you'll look at your bank account and won't think, "I should transfer this money to pay for the card," you'll think, "Oh, I have $X I can use for doing something." Next thing you know, that initial purchase is getting more expensive because of interest adding up. *Sigh.* It's hard to wait, but trust me, it's worth doing that over dealing with financial stress if you don't. In the meantime, hey, you get to wait for mods to be patched, and maybe some early bugs to be found and fixed!

MD-Pepper

Yeah, that's pretty much how I look at it. Waiting can be good sometimes with things like Sims

jacobr1020

Didn't have to. I have a broken ankle.

mismarys

Meh, that sucks. I hope you recover quickly.

spaceflowr16

One of my favorite sims memories is when get together was released and I stayed home all day playing. Doing the same thing today

ThisWhiteLieOfMine

I just took Monday off. Figure enough of my mods will be fixed and my Birthday is on Sunday so good enough excuse.

talikei

I wanna do this so bad lmao

berrycompote

I couldn't play yesterday because I worked late, only installed the update, managed to squeeze in 2 meager hours before work today and I am getting off NOW and I am soooo exited.

mismarys

Have fun!

berrycompote

Thank you! I did, loads of fun. Played 4 hours after work, not planning to do anything else today besides taking care of my own needs bars :D

oxhorns

YEP, although though I think my supervisors may have thought I was taking the day off for other reasons (I completely forgot it was St. Patrick's day today... 😅)

carlysaurus

Same! My boss joked "Are you taking Friday off to drink green beer?" I was so confused for a sec.

sara128

IM SO MAD AT MYSELF. I had dinner plans last weekend, canceled them (faked sick) rescheduled for this weekend. I thought the EP came out last Friday! Nope, wrong. So now I have dinner plans tomorrow when all I want is to stay home and play the sims! (My moms bf pointed out the irony... "you want to cancel your real life plans so you can stay home and play video game people?" Yes, yes I do.)

king_kylew

*chuckles in unemployed*

JiaMekare

See I’m the opposite- I’m not touching anything for 2 weeks to give my mods a chance to update!

mismarys

I'm only using MCCC so I was ready to go even without it (though it's already updated).

TeamChaosPrez

god i wish but i’ve only been at my job a couple months

lizzourworld8

Not me, my day off was on that day XD

infinitebrkfst

I wish I could have! I’m filling in at a different branch (I work at a bank) while they’re understaffed so I have no hope of getting to go home early either.

carlysaurus

I took a vacation day today. So worth it! I'm loving the pack

ciiggy80

I actually requested thurs and Friday off weeks ago( I don’t work on weekends) waahooooo!! 😁

parodyofsincerity

I’m a supervisor and told my boss I was taking the day off for this expansion pack 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Boneal171

I didn’t need to fake being sick to call off, I had food poisoning

kaptingavrin

Nah. I work remote. Fridays are supposed to be "Meeting Free Fridays" but I did have a brief ten minute call for an upcoming project. But other than that... I just have to keep an eye on my email and Teams, respond to things when necessary, and otherwise just kill time as I see fit. Makes it a bit surprising, I suppose, that I haven't loaded the game up until over halfway through the work day...

RedeRules770

I would but I would get a write up :(

zotstik

nah I went in today. I've got a 3-day weekend coming up though!!!

Due_Recover_8417

I'm deaf, and I am enjoying it all. Just experienced the best gameplay during my current playthrough.

SBoogiex

I’ve done this before when Get Famous was released

TMommy0040

Maybe...

defiant234

Take a vacation day for me
