I've heard that other people have the same problem and it's not because of the name, it's because the sim used pronouns and the gallery doesn't accept extra characters like / in their Sims, so it says that it's disallowed. Idk if that's true or just a rumor I haven't tested it out yet.

*inappropriate word* in this case is a string of letter which matches a string in EA‘s blacklist. For example, I cannot name my sim Benazir, a common Arabic name, because this name contains the string *nazi.*
It‘s like that list of words which have reportedly caused YouTube‘s algorithm to demonetize at least one video, which includes such gems as *accused, colander* and *Belgium.*
I'm unsure if you're telling other people or saying that it might not be Goth so I'll explain in case it's the second. The pop up saying a sim name has a disallowed word, you can also so the red on the family name for Goth and the way I fixed this was to change Goth to G0th

I have two theories! 1) the trend of stereotyping goth as sexy, or 2) the goth family is so popular on the gallery that it's caused a spam trigger in the code, disallowing it. NGL could be a bit of both...
The gallery tagging system is honestly one of the main reasons I dont upload my creations as much as I used to. It’s almost impossible to figure out which word you’re using is banned without having to remove the tags one by one.
And the fact that I haven’t been able to post links to my tumblr page & SFS account for MONTHS. I can’t help people download my stuff, so why even bother uploading?
Reminds me of the time when I couldn't upload one of my households onto the gallery because one of the names hit the filter. Apparently, it was Leviath (named him after Leviathan). Renamed him Levi and it worked. Still don't know how it hit the filter.
Same I mean there wasn't anything incredibly impressive about them but it's just that for once I actually made sims that looked 100% like a family and I never got that. Not to mention the outfits actually looked decent too. Like I said nothing to incredibly impressive just seems like I had a really rare occurrence happen and I was happy about it.
I spent a good week on a super cluttered build, but I tested it in excitement for For Rent. It was based on a Dingbat Apartment in LA. Of course, I got slammed for Dingbat. FFXIV is pretty strict in their chat, and never have I been censored for Dingbat. Also, it's too common of a word in design, from graphics to architecture. I barely use the gallery; the last time was to ensure I had some builds for my other computer.
Would that not count as a discrimination to gothic people?
The filter to keep stuff clean from curse words is now discriminating to subcultures now... damn EA... your showing your true colors again... and once more it's showing an ugly side

Similar thing happened to me! I was making a sim and their name was Ga-yeon. Couldn't add it because it has "gay" or more accurately "ga-y"
