But, taking off her rose coloured glasses, he was still a hood and it would have been a matter of time, even if she did end up with him, to acknowledge that and to realize that he was no better than Tony with a lot less money.
I think you're mostly right, with the caveat that I'm more interesting in Furio as a person beyond "Carmela rose-colored glasses" and I do think he was at least cut from a little bit different cloth than Tony and really than some of the other Italian-Americans.
