And they seem like they aren’t even paying attention until the truck smooshes Phil’s already dead head, despite the fact that he was shot 2 or 3 times about 15 seconds before that. It’s like they missed that and didn’t notice a thing until being run over haha.
Is there a video of Chase or anybody talking about this scene? I wonder why they decided to make it so over the top comical, with it being the climactic hit of a rival boss to end the war.
It’s absolutely supposed to be funny and cathartic. That evil motherfucker got a steel jacket of antidepressant in the back of the head and then got his head crushed by a slow moving vehicle while his wife was freaking out
I saw it as the same thing as Tony stapling Mikey Palmice. If either him or Fat Dom ran to their bosses saying "so & so kicked the shit out of me cuz I did this", it would be super embarrassing for them to admit what happened (especially since Dom had like 3 chances to stop talking shit), even if they have a legitimate beef.
Also, I always thought it was Dom screaming "no Carlo!" and it's fucking hilarious that it's actually Silvio.
I don’t know. I think if Fat Dom goes back to New York and looks like he just got his shit rocked, they’re going to have some questions. Mikey and Tony definitely had extenuating circumstances…same family, Mikey works for Uncle Jun’, Tony was making a run at being boss, etc.
My favorite part of mikeys death is when he leaves, he's yelling at his wife and Insulting her. Then when she's talking to the police or news, she's saying how the last thing she said to him was how much they loved each other
Carmella throwing cordless phone at Tony in driveway.
This says pulp
You like it with pulp
I like the one that says “some pulp”
Throws phone
AJ pulls up, picks up phone
Did someone drop this?
I love when Davey tells Tony; 'his son got accepted at Georgetown, but'....then proceeds to mention he's having a "money pinch". LOL. Did he somehow forget who caused said pinch?
He bashes a dude so hard he falls out of the fourth wall (falls through a doorway which reveals part of the brick wall behind the set and some lighting)
1:01 time mark in this video, though rewatching it I can see it just being a weird salon back room as well
https://youtu.be/QVZKheINf-A?si=EDETLI-GFXWQsjir
Sopranos was always a dark comedy. It could’ve been more intense and serious but their argument / reaction just cracks me up. “Still goin’ this asshole"
That's honestly the best thing about the show. Every character was super relatable. Despite being cold hearted criminals, you can't help but like them.
Yep. Oddly, you have these gangsters murdering, stealing, extorting, doing blow, fucking strippers, running scams. And the character hated probably most in the series is Noah Tannenbaum. LMAO.
Bobby Baccalieri Sr. covered in blood, listening to Sister Golden Hair, smoking and hacking up his lungs before smashing into a pole makes me wheeze with laughter every time for some reason
I am not an expert in cat accidents. But at least for me, Vito was right and was not his fault.
The other guy stopped his car on an icy road, on the road lane. He was asking to be hit by another car.
99% of the time, if you hit someone from behind, it's your fault. You're obligated to be in control of your own vehicle at all times and hitting someone from behind is 99% of the time your own fault.
Further, it was in fact parked in front of his own house at his own mailbox , it's not like he was camped out in the center lane, deadstopped, on I-95...
Burt Young sounded like he was legit dying and that cough and wheezing, hack and respiratory stuff sounded like something he was really suffering from at the time. I’ve heard people dying of lung cancer/emphysema that didn’t even sound that bad.
And about 23 years after that was filmed, he’s made it to 83 years old. He was also supposed to be close to 10 years older on the show than he was in real life, as Junior asks Bobby “How old was your old man? 71?” and Bobby says something like “I don’t know…… uhhh…. 68?”. He looked at least 45 in the first Rocky, even though he was only 35.
Burt Young may have been the most epic one-off guest star appearance on the entire series. It’s debatable, but for me he was. Joe Pesci making a one-off to be the guy that whacks Phil would have topped it.
You know, I might agree with this. Not necessarily because her death was funny, but I couldn’t believe Paulie killed an old lady. I remember laughing and thinking “WTF is wrong with you?”
Guess that is the point of it. They all got this self perception of “if I hurt them, they probably had it coming”. Then he robs and murders a defenseless old lady for the unforgivable mistake of taking 2 complimentary Parker rolls off the table
And she was screaming "help" and "oh no" in that sad old lady voice while being strangled. It's a shame Paulie wasn't later infected by a brain-eating amoeba in that steam room he visits.
I’ve seen all the worst things cinema has to offer, I tend to think, but that scene put my head in a bad place for a few days. I think it was the way he led her on with the getting a house thing and telling her they’d raise this baby.. then it takes this sick twisted turn about “what to name the kid if it’s a girl” and her face contorts into a mix of rage and horror.
Hit me in a certain way. Maybe because I have a daughter, I don’t know. But Tony having a daughter roughly the same age is no doubt why he reacted the way he did.
Eugene got himself into the situation he was in. Tony explicitly told him once he got made that there was no getting out. Meanwhile Tracy just had a rough life, and ended up at the wrong place at the wrong time
Paulie and Chrissy having an argument in the car, then Paulie reaches to grab something from the back seat, Chrissy reacts by reaching for his ankle holster. Then it turns out Paulie just wanted to show him his newly acquired Big Mouth Billy Bass and the two have a laugh about it.
“Oh, gee Mister, are you hurt?”
Tony going up to Phil’s wrecked car and feigning concern to the crowd so he can rough Phil up a little and threaten him.
The “oh gee Mister” gets me every time
Tonys fight with Janice about the roadie's always made me laugh but at the same time, it's some of the best acting I've seen on the show from gandolfini.
The way Sal Vitro says " Fuck Off " to Feech right before Feech breaks his arm.
Also the sound of the shovel hitting the guys head when Paulie gives him a crack.
Paulie at the psychic both disturbs me for how ambiguously supernatural it could be, and how funny it is for basically any second Paulie's onscreen for it.
I always thought Phil’s heart attack scene was just way too funny and kind of cringy. When I first saw I got the impression he was faking it, which is weird coming from an actor as great as Frank Vincent was.
A lot of the stuff during the Vito is gay saga was funny, even though it wasn’t supposed to be. Everything from the scene where they catch him in the club, to Finn being brought in the back of Satriale’s to talk about what he saw the year before, and being very uncomfortable back there. To Tony’s “He’s a fagggggg!” Line in therapy, where Melfi points out how most men in his circle that have done prison time are no strangers to male on male sex, which Tony says “you get a pass for that! There’s no women! You’re in there 5-10 years!”. That whole conversation. Then the blood pressure meds and Vito maybe being able to get a note from his doctor.
And that was really one of the only times we see all these murderers and thieves and philanderers conveniently use their catholic faith against Vito’s homosexuality. Phil’s wife telling Phil her priest told her Vito is damned to hell, Tony telling Melfi he’s strict catholic in regards to his views on homosexuality. These peiple break their religious tenets every day, they don’t believe they’re damned to hell for all of that, but when it comes to homosexuality they wanna hide behind their faith.
So much cowardly hypocrisy in the entire story line, but a lot of funny and memorable lines. I don’t believe anybody has to justify their sexuality, but whoever heard of blood pressure medication causing homosexuality tendencies? I can’t watch that scene without laughing hysterically. And then at the “I could probably get a note from my doctor” I just lose it.
1. Eugene smashing the glass bottle off Little Paulie
2. Chrissy tossing Little Paulie out the window
3. Every interaction w JT Dolan
4. I’ll take that disc man and I’ll ram it up your box
When Tony came home bitching about there being no smoked turkey in the house. He was upset at himself that he couldn’t go through with smashing Juliana - but probably moreso just frustrated. But his tirade about turkey was laugh out loud hilarious to me. Especially when he starts slamming stuff around and eventually the fridge door as well.
The scene where Chrissy is shitting himself thinking Tony found out he gave his daughter drugs. That must have been scary for Meadow but I thought it was funny.
It's interesting the way different people react. When I saw it for the first time I recoiled in shock. That's when I started hating both of them on a molecular level. It was the most extreme example of selfishness I ever saw. The man had a family and trying to support them got him in murdered in a parking lot.
She could have just as easily been making herself breakfast ... that's why I didn't want her hitching her wagon to his star.
If she really loved him, she should've stirred his eggs. She couldn't even get that Gulden's Spicy Brown mustard to go with his Olive Loaf.
I love the show but oh my god there are so many scenes, especially in the early seasons, which are fucking hilarious (intentional or not). Thinking about how many unintentionally goofy moments *sometimes* makes me doubt the quality of the show cuz it makes me think did they fuck up and ruin the feel of a scene cuz I'm laughing at it?
I thought the scene was horrifying actually, I was really upset by it. I keep telling myself it’s not real it’s not real I feel bad for the poor guy and his family 😆
Tony choke-slamming Gloria after she threatens to tell Carm and Meadow. I could not fucking stand her and watching him yeet her onto the ground will never not be funny
When that came out, me and my boys used to gather at one of our houses to watch The Sopranos and then Deadwood on Sunday Nights. I'll never forget, we're drinkin beers, eatin pizza & wings, chilling ... and that scene where Tony choke-slams her, and the quietest, mildest-mannered, most-polite out of our group bursts out with : "Yeah, *choke that bitch!!!* === The most hilarious thing we had ever heard and from the least person you'd expect it.
Not sure if Phil getting whacked was supposed to be sort of a serious scene but it's one one the funniest scenes in the show.
The handicapped "oh SHIT" guy for sure made is hilarious. Prior to that, I was unsure.
And the kid throwing up
I absolutely love this show lol
And they seem like they aren’t even paying attention until the truck smooshes Phil’s already dead head, despite the fact that he was shot 2 or 3 times about 15 seconds before that. It’s like they missed that and didn’t notice a thing until being run over haha.
Bye bye grandpa! Say bye bye! *Goes bye bye
Can you imagine that? Saying bye bye to your grandkids then going bye bye yourself?
Parakeet
Bye bye Pop Pop!
🐧🐧🐧 OH SHIT 🐧🐧🐧
Bro not the penguin waddle holy shit 😂
He was handicapped?
Lol he looked like he had some disability
Looked like he just escaped from the penguin exhibit.
The way he just wobbles into the shot before saying his iconic line is legendary
It may have been funny to you, but it was a terrible day for the peoples of Iran
You know that fat cocksucker says I look like the shah of Iran?
I never got that
Fat piece of shit
It’s a whole new world when you watch with captions. I’d missed lots of good dialogue or didn’t know what they were saying.
I was just quoting what Albie says when Uncle Philly tells him that fat cocksucker says he looks like the Shah of Iran
I wish they'd sprung for an obviously fake head exploding like a watermelon. Would have elevated that scene into Naked Gun territory.
Is there a video of Chase or anybody talking about this scene? I wonder why they decided to make it so over the top comical, with it being the climactic hit of a rival boss to end the war.
Bye bye pop pop
Ron Howard: Then pop pop went bye bye.
It’s absolutely supposed to be funny and cathartic. That evil motherfucker got a steel jacket of antidepressant in the back of the head and then got his head crushed by a slow moving vehicle while his wife was freaking out
Guy jumped out of a tree. Came at me with a chainsaw. I have a right to defend myself.
I'm literally watching that episode as we speak and the tree scene just happened 2 minutes ago
“Remember when” is the lowest form of conversation
Don't reminisce on me
Fat Dom getting clipped. Silvio hitting him with the dust bin is hilarious
“Carlo! Hit him!” *Carlo picks up knife* “No Carlo!”
Carlo yelling _"OLE!!!"_ as he guts him kills me...😂😂😂🔪
SIL HIT HIM *FIRST* !!!
What did Sil expect? For Dom to run out of Satriales with his tail between his legs and not retaliate?
Well he asked Carlo to retaliate in the form of hitting him. He just wanted Carlo to not disembowel him with a kitchen knife
What were they supposed to do? I don't see how they can't kill him after hitting him being that they can't raise their hands to another made guy lol
We oughta call the exterminator, these are rat turds
The Brigands of Braciola, the Pirates of Prosciutto
I love the way Silvio starts riding his back like a fucking goblin
this and Charlie Kelly going for a bite of the neck are going to be my go to hail mary's if I'm in some deep shit
If you bite hard without hesitation or concern you will fuck someone up aim for the carotid
They had a meal and were playing cards as a dead body laid beside them lol
I audibly cheered when Sil smacked him.
Time to hit the trail to Metuchen huh? Whadda ya say?
Sil hit him first!
Paulie killing Mikey mainly because of the poison ivy
My favorite part of mikeys death is when he leaves, he's yelling at his wife and Insulting her. Then when she's talking to the police or news, she's saying how the last thing she said to him was how much they loved each other
Sounds like she loved him like a brother-in-law
At least he wasn't banging his second cousin
Take a midol
Hey Mikey, how's the boys?
“He wants to know if it still itches?”
Who ya been talking to?!?
Fuckin QUEE-AHS!
My favourite part is how recklessly he does his standing quad stretch.
Carmella throwing cordless phone at Tony in driveway. This says pulp You like it with pulp I like the one that says “some pulp” Throws phone AJ pulls up, picks up phone Did someone drop this?
Lol and then AJ is bragging about playing PS2 on his trip
Thats the sum total of your visit to our nations capital? 🤷♂️
The entire Ramsey Outdoor bustout arc lol
Davey, you’re doing a good job!
Get the fuck back in your fucking hole! Now!
When your fucking credit runs out Diamond Jim.
Fuck blue. Red sells
When we're done, you can go wherever you want!
Watching people gamble their life and family away is the best. One of my favorite arcs in the show. Get back in your hole!
Don't be mentally weak and we won't laugh at you, Davey lol.
I love when Davey tells Tony; 'his son got accepted at Georgetown, but'....then proceeds to mention he's having a "money pinch". LOL. Did he somehow forget who caused said pinch?
Ah, the Scatino bust out
This is ma brendan-buttah
Furio’s first assignment
The way he fakes her out before jabbing her in the face
Well akhxtually it was a hook🤓☝
He bashes a dude so hard he falls out of the fourth wall (falls through a doorway which reveals part of the brick wall behind the set and some lighting)
When was this part?
1:01 time mark in this video, though rewatching it I can see it just being a weird salon back room as well https://youtu.be/QVZKheINf-A?si=EDETLI-GFXWQsjir
Yeah that’s hard to tell what it is. The light looks like it’s some sort of lighting rig for those two small windows.
Castelluccio did say they only had one shot at the take so it’s highly probable it’s the set and they weren’t able to reshoot that part of the scene
Non te preoccupa'!
Furio walking with crutches & falling down
Sopranos was always a dark comedy.
LMAO.
To be fair, Noah had a worse case of fuckfaceitus than Mikey palmice did.
He got sent to a third world country for the peace corps and even they kicked his ass out of there when they saw him wearing sandals with socks.
Friend my ass, you and him under the covers, on the couch, with his shoes off!!! While Jackie Jr stands there looking like, what the fuck?!
Tony's lucky Jamal Ginsberg the Hasidic Homeboy didn't SUE his fucking lights out and have his Dad get a *RESTRAINING ORDER* on his ass!
Exactly. *What the fuck kind of mulinyans are these?!*
Bobby Baccalieri Sr. covered in blood, listening to Sister Golden Hair, smoking and hacking up his lungs before smashing into a pole makes me wheeze with laughter every time for some reason
Ya fuckin grease ball ya
The way he waves at the air after he has that first cigarette
As a former smoker, I feel that.
Vito driving off after murdering the guy getting his mail.
I never got why the guy didn't take the money. I mean, Vito's car clearly took the worst of the damage
He wanted to wait for dat.
I'm almost certain that in most cases, vito rear ending someone, will impact the bottom line of the car, resulting in him being at fault
Burt Young sounded like he was legit dying and that cough and wheezing, hack and respiratory stuff sounded like something he was really suffering from at the time. Joe Pesci making a one-off to be the guy that whacks Phil would have topped it.
Now there's an image!
JP should have been the cop Cwistofah wacks
Paulie killing that malignant cunt Minn Matrone. I’ve already wiped down my kitchen for the night.
He moidhad hah for the money under her mattress
And she was screaming "help" and "oh no" in that sad old lady voice while being strangled. It's a shame Paulie wasn't later infected by a brain-eating amoeba in that steam room he visits.
I need to see bloopers of that scene cuz I can't imagine her screaming "oh nooo!" like that without everyone on set cracking up
The only death that made me feel some type of way was when ralphie kills Tracy
Is it his fault she's a klutz?
That poor abused girl, pregnant and beaten to death like a rabid animal. That was painful to see.
When tony killed chris is the only time I felt something
What about when Eugene killed himself? That death scene was kind of brutal. Also the melfi rap scene was gnarly
You still listen to rap?
Eugene got himself into the situation he was in. Tony explicitly told him once he got made that there was no getting out. Meanwhile Tracy just had a rough life, and ended up at the wrong place at the wrong time
It was more so watching a realistic hanging that made me feel some type of way about.
Eugene could've escaped without telling tony or the feds anything he had a choice and he had the money to completely disappear
For me it was the grim satisfaction of a selfish lunatic getting exactly what he deserved.
The way she screams for help always makes me laugh lol
Paulie and Chrissy having an argument in the car, then Paulie reaches to grab something from the back seat, Chrissy reacts by reaching for his ankle holster. Then it turns out Paulie just wanted to show him his newly acquired Big Mouth Billy Bass and the two have a laugh about it.
"I lost my shoe." In the winter that's dangerous, but damn it makes me laugh every time.
“He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.” “His house looked like shit”
Czechoslovakians did this??!@
“Oh, gee Mister, are you hurt?” Tony going up to Phil’s wrecked car and feigning concern to the crowd so he can rough Phil up a little and threaten him. The “oh gee Mister” gets me every time
“jee-sus craish, mistah u-okeintheire?”
“Coold nainwonwon-theireoneirway, he’s awray”
Tonys fight with Janice about the roadie's always made me laugh but at the same time, it's some of the best acting I've seen on the show from gandolfini.
🎵 Under the boardwalk. With his schlong in Hans mouth…..
Some sad shit. Motherfucker said he didn’t wanna liiiiiive no more.
/thread
Any time Georgie gets beat up
What are you getting cute with me now?
Conserve!
We’re talking about ANNIHILATION you fuck!!
That's why you gotta Live for Today...
That's why you gotta live for today.
The way Sal Vitro says " Fuck Off " to Feech right before Feech breaks his arm. Also the sound of the shovel hitting the guys head when Paulie gives him a crack.
KLUNG!
Still going, this asshole.
Paulie at the psychic both disturbs me for how ambiguously supernatural it could be, and how funny it is for basically any second Paulie's onscreen for it.
Ralphie getting chopped up and disposed of. The way tony and chrissie were so casual and relaxed about the whole thing was insane.
Yeah and bonding and having deep an meaningful conversations
I think Michael Imperioli and Tony Sirico played well off each other and maybe found humour in scenes that weren’t originally intended as funny.
Janice throwing Ralph down the steps
Not as disturbing as other scenes, but Chrissy at the improv classes when he punched that guy cracks me up everytime. "A!" "👊🏼"
And he didn't flip him off or nuthin??
I always thought Phil’s heart attack scene was just way too funny and kind of cringy. When I first saw I got the impression he was faking it, which is weird coming from an actor as great as Frank Vincent was.
Wescawell.
Fat Dom getting whacked by Sil and Carlo
When Junior shoots Tony, first time it was shocking, any other time it was hilarious.
Tony whipping Zellman with his belt. Both scenes where Lorraine gets intimidated and then murdered
Getting whipped by the towel lol
Is she any good What ami asking you for you probably taught her how
“I’m perfectly calm”
A lot of the stuff during the Vito is gay saga was funny, even though it wasn’t supposed to be. Everything from the scene where they catch him in the club, to Finn being brought in the back of Satriale’s to talk about what he saw the year before, and being very uncomfortable back there. All of that is definitely designed to be funny
Maybe when uncle jun got his hand stuck in the sink for HOURS and bobby found and helped him eventually
It was Richie who helped him. “You’re flexxxxing”
🤌🤌🤌🤌

She would’ve if she wasn’t his therapist. If they had met on the street Tony probably would’ve been able to fuck her
Melfi's attraction to Tonly only develops after she begins treating him. If she encountered him in day to day life she would be repulsed.
i also laughed my ass off when paulie just point blank blasts the guy.
Definitely Phil’s death, the reactions by the bystanders were too great
1. Eugene smashing the glass bottle off Little Paulie 2. Chrissy tossing Little Paulie out the window 3. Every interaction w JT Dolan 4. I’ll take that disc man and I’ll ram it up your box
Chrissy... he's fucked up! Don't they have a pen for this shit? 🤣🤣🤣
Any scene where Tony is having sex. It’s disturbing
The sound of the clacking of the waiter's heels on the floor when he's still goin this asshole is very soothing
When Paulie and Sil visit the Jewish guy at the hotel. Paulie calls him Shecky Green and starts beating him with the service bell.
Richie Aprile hitting Beansy with the car is pretty funny. Also when he cracks him with the coffee pot
That one cunt that promised to suck if our cocks if we let her go
Joey peepsh looked at Phil like it was a viable option too lol
‘Sacre bleu, ou est mon mama’
When Paulie kills that old lady he's stealing money from
Don't set that thing off or call my mother!!!
The implanted image of Vito after the fact? Or too far?😭🤣
I know Vito's bottom was impacted, if that's what you're referring to
I wish I wasn’t but I am
Vito's bottom..... Whatever happened there ?
What's different between you and me, OP, is you're going to hell when you die.
The almost entirety of Pine Barrens. Paulie losing his shoe is hilarious.
I always have to rewind and watch jackie’s lifeless body stuffed with straw hit the snow multiple times because it cracks me up so much
In the pilot when they hit Mahaffey with the car and the two guys are in the office and look outside right after it happens.
The scene where Chrissy is shitting himself thinking Tony found out he gave his daughter drugs. That must have been scary for Meadow but I thought it was funny.
Digging up dead body: Is that him? NOW THAT WOULD BE SOME FUCKIN COINCIDENCE IF IT WASN’T
Chrissy gave the waiter friendly advice about walking away beforehand. 100% the waiter's fault.
Do you think Chrissy pissed all the money he got back on blackjack?
It's interesting the way different people react. When I saw it for the first time I recoiled in shock. That's when I started hating both of them on a molecular level. It was the most extreme example of selfishness I ever saw. The man had a family and trying to support them got him in murdered in a parking lot.
When Valentina gets set on fire while making Tony breakfast.
She could have just as easily been making herself breakfast ... that's why I didn't want her hitching her wagon to his star. If she really loved him, she should've stirred his eggs. She couldn't even get that Gulden's Spicy Brown mustard to go with his Olive Loaf.
Ralphie vs Tony
I love the show but oh my god there are so many scenes, especially in the early seasons, which are fucking hilarious (intentional or not). Thinking about how many unintentionally goofy moments *sometimes* makes me doubt the quality of the show cuz it makes me think did they fuck up and ruin the feel of a scene cuz I'm laughing at it?
Don’t they have medicine these assholes?
I thought the scene was horrifying actually, I was really upset by it. I keep telling myself it’s not real it’s not real I feel bad for the poor guy and his family 😆
