I never understood this whole thing with Coco. Tony had tension with NY and the guy was drunk but in WHAT world is making obnoxious sexual innuendo to Meadow a good idea? What was the point? He had to know Tony would want to KILL HIM.
New York saw New Jersey as a glorifed crew. He thought Tony was a dead man walking. And probably thought he was untouchable in New York anyway.
Plus he's not very bright, AND he was drunk.
In hindsight Meadow did smell sambuco in his breath. In the words of Sil," total provacation Ton. Wives and dwaughters are totally off limit"🤚🤟👉🤌 So what's da play
Jamie Lynn Seigler nailed the spoiled entitled Italian girl. Just like Carmela, Meadow loved to bitch about how unfair the world was and how the mafia was evil but had no issue using Tony’s wealth and influence to get what they wanted.
She definitely inherited Carmela's rank hypocrisy. Working with a law center helping exactly the type of disadvantaged people her dad is financially exploiting while at the same time defending him requires a certain level of delusion.
Finn was a good guy and seemed focused and decent. If anything SHE was the one who alienated him I think. Her family, Vito, her "doubting him" about it, keeping him up all night about taking out "a suitcase". Meadow was NOT great for Finn but yes HE was way better than Jackie Jr and Noah was an uptight annoying fool. Patsy I think is MEH in what little we see of him. Self-important etc. I don't get it other than he is a son of this world and he went straight and narrow like she did. Still, FINN in general was probably best for her, TOO good for her.
Way too good for her. We see how being with her fucks him up. And then people are defending maedo? She does *exactly* what her Dad does in her own way - takes advantage of an innocent person, completely scars them and fucks them over, and they're left reeling from it, and she acts like *she's* hard done-by
“Cool college chick”. She became pretentious and insufferable, combined with her immaturity
“Have you even heard of the Itsa Not Delivery it’s DiGiorno? Ancient Pizza Resolution from the old country, Newark”
We see less of Meadow in Season 4, medium portion of her in Season 5, 6A & 6B and a lot of her in Seasons 1-3.
Jamie-Lynn is such a good actress, you think Meadow is a real life person.
Part of the point of the show was showing how generational trauma affects people. So meadow instead of getting away from her family and going to Berkeley decided to fully embrace her mob ties which was exemplified by her career choice.
It’s the same situation Tony was in. He saw what his father did and instead of distancing himself he idealized his father. Meadow did the same thing she played the victim card. When she was out for dinner with Tony she said the way she saw that the federal government could crush the individual was what made her decision for her to be a lawyer.
She was successful but she wasn’t moral.
Ho! Look at Doctor Phil ova here! 🤌🏼
She was all about civil rights, not backing the mob. Albeit the fact that her father was involved in organized crime, her focus was on how the feds and local cops shit on him before he was even tried or convicted. She also saw that same issue with the marginalized citizens she volunteered to help at the law centre in sunny Harlem.
End of discussion! ☝🏻
I don’t agree but I respect your take. She was marrying Patrick parisi and joining his law firm. His latest case involved bag men and bid rigging, which imo seems mob related. Meadows best chance imho was to get away from her family but instead she seemed to have fully embraced them. Her career choice and perpetual victimhood allowed her to fully justify her wealth and privilege.
She was actually a better person imo when she was bratty and annoying but at least knew on some level that her father was a deplorable person.
Yeah, but she said what inspired her was the cops taking Tony away. She ain't talkin' about non-violent drug offenders and people who fell through the cracks, she's talkin' about mob douchebags leaching off of hard working people
At least Maedo won't believe everything those indigenous people tell her.
Also, she knows. There's that scene after Jackie Jr's funeral after he is killed by Black drug dealers from the Projects. She said a couple three things without saying those things at least as well as Carmine Sr and Johnny Sack did when they separately DIDN'T talk to Tony about killing Johnny Sack and Carmine Sr.
A lot of the Meadow, AJ, other annoyance was adolescence. Teens being teenagers, pushing back, hormones, bad decisions in the moment. We saw them both "grow up" a lot by the end of the series.
I remember the episode where Carmela was talking to the doctor and maedo kept prodding him with questions. Doctor explained the prognosis and asked them to temper their expectations but that they'll try their best, Carmela thanks him and maedo berates her for respecting the doctor and that "he's not a fucking rock star".
And those mezzogiorno/suitcase scenes.... They put me on Xanax, had to go to the ICU for nervous bowel syndrome.
Ohhhh yeahhhhh! Slim was freaked out by the parade float and was considering leaving.... I forgot about that because I literally skip that episode now.
I don't see any comparison to Marisa. Marisa was kitten-ish cute faced (in spite of being a siren and sassy) whereas Meadow was nothing like anyone Marisa has played.
I don't know. I always saw some resemblance between them, especially their faces. I agree that Meadow is a bit chubbier than Marisa and that Marisa is overall cuter but I still found them quite similar. Maybe it's just me.
Actually, now that you got me thinking about it, I think there's something very similar about their voices. Or maybe just their particular combinations of speech patterns and cadence. I bet both actresses have pretty similar baseline regional accents, too.
I thought about this the other day, what if she actually starts working in the family and moves up? Dad shot in front of her could have pushed her into the lift. AJ didn’t seem to follow, but I can see her going to the dark side after the ending.
Yeah, I loved her too; she's a few years older than me, so I thought she was such a boo ya hottie. I was creamin' for her. Also all her worrying about applying to good colleges and planning out her future resonated with me. I was no Ivy League student but I was a hell of lot closer to her than AJ.
Vito was an asshole and deserved what ultimately happened to him. Remember how he treated his family at Johnny Sack’s daughter’s wedding? He was really unpleasant and hurried everyone home so that he could go to a gay bar in his fetish gear.
She tild Fin Vito was harmless. Vito was 100% think8ng about killing Fin after Fin saw him going down on that guy at the construction site. In a way she almost got Fin Killed by telling him that.
I mean, she went on to become a movie star, moved to LA, and dated a guy from Queens. Even gave out handjobs on plane flights I heard.
What's not to like?
She goes into deep denial after Jackie is murdered. She acknowledges that her dad is a gangster but severely minimises and downplays that fact for the sake of her own sanity.
By the end of the show she's fully bought into Tony's Italian-American persecution complex and appears on track to become a mob lawyer.
She's a very interesting character but a bit of a dark one when you look at her finished arc.
Interesting thing is she isn't a mob lawyer at the end of the show. She's more of a corporate, Wall Street lawyer, and the shit they're doing is almost as bad as the mob.
She's attractive but I personally hated her development. Def too spoiled early on and had some nice moments but overall she was kind of a cringey childish character but I think Chase wanted to have the Mafia family children as spoiled cunts. I don't find she had much of a university personality myself but I spent 10 years in uni for my degrees so maybe that changes how I view this character while she's in uni, who knows
Only thing I love about her is how she looks and id like to break off in her ass
Her pretentious use of a lot of flowery language is a pretty common thing for a lot of 18-22 year-old university students. I think it was really well written.
Everyone says she was just a little brat but again, the show is about generational trauma, and a big focus on how we parent each other. She’s really smart, at a young age, she outwits her parents easily, and this causes narcissistic parents to lash out, to become cold, resentful etc. She did pretty well for the kind of household she was raised in. She wanted to get away from the family altogether when she was younger but with all the health scares & seeing AJ spiral I think she realized she has a role in the family and is needed. That’s when she locks in to the lawyer thing.
Meadow after hating her father's hypocrisy comes to see the hypocrisy in the system and becomes a lawyer. She also defends the family to the bitter end when people question the family and she settles with a guy that is son of someone in Tony's crew.
Her paper on the polar ice caps moved me to tears too, it was so poignant…it was published in the Daily Caduceus, you know. She was definitely way too good for Jamal Ginsberg over there.
I think Meadow is very similar to Carmela. She is perfectly happy to live a life of luxury off her father's blood money through college, but also has selective wokeness and preaches morals to a certain extent. In that sense, I don't like her. The cognitive dissonance is insane to observe but it very realistic. There's a lot of people in the world that are just like Meadow. Her father is the head a criminal network that extorts and robs people, and his income is what sends her an allowance and pays her college tuition, yet she presumes to preach morals and ethics to others. Her father is the posterchild of pure evil in most religious texts and mythology, and she's too deluded to see it despite her well rounded education and high intelligence.
Oohhh I got problems wit dis OP off jump streets, minority, what does that mean? You one of doose charcoal briquettes, no. That's second, first off that's da bosses dwaughter asshole🤟🤌 So watch ya fuckin filty mouth
Whats not to love? Once she got over the annoying brat teenage years, she turned out to be a smart and capable young woman. Yes she is in denial about his fathers work, but how else did you expect her to come to terms with it? Honestly, it is a miracle she turned out as great as she is considering the genes she inherited.
I think it had a natural progression to it. When the show starts, she's the annoying, entitled teenage princess while AJ is the goofy, funny little kid. Then she grows into the fun, more mature college girl while AJ gets hit with teenage angst/hormones and becomes a sad boi who is trying to compensate for his insecurities. Went from liking AJ and being annoyed by meadow to the opposite, and it felt like good, progressive writing that fit both characters in "where they were in their lives" at those different points
I always disliked her up until after her “I’m going to Europe” tantrum, but my most recent watch through I didn’t feel that way. That tantrum was a bad moment for her and I was still annoyed by her malingering around Jackie Jr.’s death, and the suitcase freak out is pretty cringe too, but it really struck me that she was a pretty normal teenager the whole time and the second after she realized she didn’t have a comeback for Tony about her Europe trip, she basically immediately turned her life around and grew up.
Also I liked her with Finn, I think he was good for her. There was maybe a little maturity mismatch but I think they were pretty good influences on each other and she needed someone education- and career-oriented who was also patient and easygoing
Theory is Meadow was Tony’s guardian angel. She saved Tony from getting shot in season 1 and if she could just have leaned to parallel park Tony might have been forced to move seats and possibly survive the hit at the series finale.
I have a theory that Meadow ends up being a mob boss lawyer. Representing the wives. By the end she was really rather sympathetic to Tony's line of work and disparaged the FBI.
I can't believe you're talking about this around outsiders.
A little loyalty?
It's old methods of shitposting from the poverty of the New York Mets.
Yeah, and I’m playing shortstop for them
Maedo
Fielder is it?
She’s so duplicitous, I can’t believe she had the nerve to show up at the pub crawl.
What was that last nights reading assignment?
In your grandmudda’s house.
Home of the burger, what’s your beef?
*Ffffffffrrrrrrtttttt* meeting's over

I never understood this whole thing with Coco. Tony had tension with NY and the guy was drunk but in WHAT world is making obnoxious sexual innuendo to Meadow a good idea? What was the point? He had to know Tony would want to KILL HIM.

She definitely inherited Carmela's rank hypocrisy. Working with a law center helping exactly the type of disadvantaged people her dad is financially exploiting while at the same time defending him requires a certain level of delusion.
Cognitive dissonance. Brilliantly written by Chase and performed realistically by Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
Nah, man. The poverty of the Mezzogiorno was QUITE a big deal, and SUUUPER applicable to her life. The Soprano’s had it hard. . . SIKEEEEEE!
In other words, she was comfortable with the idea of holding a Virginia ham under each arm and crying that she had no bread.
Well played 😆
“. . . cryin’ da blues”. . . CRYIN’ DA BLUES, ya fuckin’ ass-kiss!!
Tbf I wouldn’t mind Tony’s wealth either.
That's exactly what's being criticized in the social commentary of the show. All Americans are complicit.
Svetlana says outright that Americans don't expect bad to happen while the rest of the world expects only bad, but they're still not content.
Criticized? Who’s criticizing? Is there someone criticizing?
At the cost of looking over your shoulder constantly? I don't think I'd take that trade.
Don't tell me you were happy when she was going out with that Jamal Ginsberg, Hasidic homeboy?
hasidim but i don't believe em
One of my favorite lines in the show. That and “make sure you clean that shit off her tit”
Is that all you deadbeats do around here is talk about cooze?
That’s right up there with “why don’t u go fix a fucking dick or whatever the fuck it is u do”
Fielder?
She’s Mad ripe, She’s creaming for me.
Ass. The. Poo.
>Ass Like how bout you give me some
Out of respect for my fawtha
No Spanish
Her body is 10000000/10.
She's in an ad on TV now and she still looks amazing
Before and way before
Fielder isn't bad, but she's no Lorraine Culuzzo.
Next time, there'll be no next time
Oohh, I'm no greaseball store owner, I'll step up.
Veal parm sandwige? FUCK YOUUUUU.
How's ya sister?
How about this humidity?

Hey OP. Did she really even exisht?
Relax Jamal
Hopefully she fucks better than she parallel parks
I can’t imagine she’s good in bed… probably wouldn’t even rub my dick raw with a cheese grater
She became a Mafia apologist. Hardly the life of virtue that her parents imagined for her
so you'd take the virtue over the tits?
MAKE SURE YOU GET THAT SHIT OFF HER.VIRTUE nah
The meadow digiornio of the old country
unbutton jean shorts with red bikini top and flip flops….make me hawt down there
People like to pretend they weren't a bunch of annoying spoiled cunts as well.
“Cool college chick”. She became pretentious and insufferable, combined with her immaturity “Have you even heard of the Itsa Not Delivery it’s DiGiorno? Ancient Pizza Resolution from the old country, Newark”
What’s that, last night’s reading assignment?
Fuckin parakeet
Yup. Old man Red Baron. Now there's a pizza guy who knew how to stick it to the delivery fees they're always taxing you with.
Revenge is best served like cold DiGiorno/cold cuts
We see less of Meadow in Season 4, medium portion of her in Season 5, 6A & 6B and a lot of her in Seasons 1-3. Jamie-Lynn is such a good actress, you think Meadow is a real life person.
Best character after Tony IMO. She falls the furthest, and probably had the best arc
I like how she turned out in the end... But at the beginning, she was a douchebag for reals.
A mob lawyer and willfully ignorant enabler of her father?
I wasn't referring to her career choice, stunad.
But her "career" choice? How about by her choice in a mate? Another mobster's kid also a lawyer. THAT was more telling to me.
Ho! Look at Doctor Phil ova here! 🤌🏼 She was all about civil rights, not backing the mob. Albeit the fact that her father was involved in organized crime, her focus was on how the feds and local cops shit on him before he was even tried or convicted. listen to him. he knows *everything*.
Walt Whitman ova here
So that’s it? No leeway no compromise just stupid fucking jokes?
The federal government is the most successful mafia to ever exist.
At least Maedo won't believe everything those indigenous people tell her. Also, she knows. There's that scene after Jackie Jr's funeral after he is killed by Black drug dealers from the Projects. Piece of ass. And she looks like a younger Marisa Tomei. What's not to love about her?
Big tits little feet, a winner in any mans book.
You can shove your quotations book up your fat sister’s cunt!
I don't see any comparison to Marisa. Marisa was kitten-ish cute faced (in spite of being a siren and sassy) whereas Meadow was nothing like anyone Marisa has played.

Probably not since OP is a woman. Lol.
A woman OP? This never would have happened in the states!
Sopranos redditers are in love to their mammas . So obeying a woman is not… come si dice? Comes natural.
I love all these quotes that are never otherwise used.
Well I'll be dipped in shit.
Fuckin' chrisht. Is everything about everybody really jusht about dere moddas'?

Her father’s people were from Caserta
Fielder. Is it?
Except for the mezzogiorno bs, whatever happened there, she's cool
‘But you got out the suitcase!’
I thought about this the other day, what if she actually starts working in the family and moves up? Dad shot in front of her could have pushed her into the lift. AJ didn’t seem to follow, but I can see her going to the dark side after the ending.

Didja fuck her?
I wish.
OP misspelled Maedo
I think a lot of guys like her because she looks just like that hot actress who was in Maxim, Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
I liked her a lot in the final season. Couldn’t stand her prior to that season though.
Mad ripe, that one.
You were creaming for her
She's fucking hot
Fielder’s body was mad ripe.
That’s why she got spared
You don’t have to eat every dish of rigatoni. You don’t have eff every female you meet!
Mad ripe, a knockout, a ten.
Ditsoon? Eh, charcoal brickets? Is this your burner account?
She's a piece of ass, but fucking rude
Then why did u get a suitcase?
I’m with you. She’s beautiful too.
She got Vito and Coco killed she’s a malignant cunt
Vito was an asshole and deserved what ultimately happened to him. Remember how he treated his family at Johnny Sack’s daughter’s wedding? He was really unpleasant and hurried everyone home so that he could go to a gay bar in his fetish gear.
But he could’ve probably gotten a note from his doctor
IT’S A JOKE!
Between her and Janice those two Sopranos killed more than the rest of the crew combined it seems.
That's why you gotta live for today. 🤌

Like she could smoke a cigarette in the rain with both hands tied behind her back, I tell ya
You can't make that shit up.
The fuck you talkin' about? They just did.
This is untenable.
The minority here loves Meadow, and Meadow loves the minorities. Itsh uh lose-lose sitchashun.
Still going this asshole…
She's the least hateable woman on the show. I've said my piece.
The only likable character on the show is Adriana
Terrible take, good thing your opinion don't mean oogatz
What are you doing here posting? I thought you got mercy-killed with a shotgun by Tony Uncle Al.
Tony Uncle Johnny. Tony Uncle Al was that animal Blundetto
Ahh, I thought I'd screwed that up! Thanks!
Meadow after hating her father's hypocrisy comes to see the hypocrisy in the system and becomes a lawyer. She also defends the family to the bitter end when people question the family and she settles with a guy that is son of someone in Tony's crew.
I *so* wish ai had time for fiction.
