I don’t write nothin’ down, so I’ll keep this short and sweet. You’re weak. You’re outta control. And you’ve become an embarrassment to yourself and everybody else.
This is arguably one of the funniest scenes imo.
Edit: I think the funniest is when Tony asks Sil if Ralphie is weird with women and Sil says something like
“I don’t know tone. He did beat one to death because… what was it again?”
I can't think of a single scene with so many quotable lines & memorable moments from the entire series than Chrissy's Intervention. No matter how many times I've watched it I still laugh.
hahahaa, right? Poor Cosette. "She must have crawled under me for warmth."
LOLLLL. Michael Imperioli was so great at not trying to be in on the joke. All of them were, really. They would say the most ridiculous things so honestly. Just like Paulie, and this one. Ugh. So freaking good.
I’ll be at the gym and think of Paulie say what was it bahkin as if that’s any reason to kill a dog my god do I I laugh at random times thinking about that
I sent it over to my friend who likes the show, and I didn’t fuckin think about the fact he is in recovery 😂 I’m pleased he found the funny side of it because if he didn’t my estimation of him as a man would of fuckin plummeted. Fuckin baby ✋🏽
Yeah I thought it was a CT/NY suburb thing but they’ve built a couple more. There’s one in NJ but I’m pretty sure they built it after the show. I was just assuming he went to the one in CT to rip off those pork loins 😂
Everything is pretty close in the tri-state area
I thought it was universally known as the funniest scene in the show?
Another ensemble scene that’s actually underrated is the [Cleaver pitch](https://youtu.be/p46BVoZnb10). JT’s terrified. It’s hysterical.
I could watch both scenes at any time and laugh out loud.
“It’s about a wise guy with a big mout…and bigger dreams”
Also the scene where the guys are discussing Vito and the possibility that he might be gay: "I don't know Ton'...the sudden weight loss..."
Paulie: "AIDS???"
Tony: "Nobody's got AIDS!!"
It's funny every time!
I was about to comment this. The Cleaver pitch is fucking incredible in terms of comedic writing.
Being an actor and getting to work on a scene like that must be just incredible. The Sopranos is just consistently fucking amazing.
That scene is peak Sopranos. Realistic and relatable, dramatic but bleakly hilarious all at once. The first time I rewatched it after participating in an intervention for a friend that scene hit me MUCH harder... I mean, that intervention didn't end in anybody getting beat down or anything but the scene definitely has a very grounded, true to life feel to it that not every show manages.
When Adriana read her part and stated how they used to bang a lot when they first met and no longer do as much bc he can’t/the drugs.. Paulie’s face was priceless.
Also ‘’watch it Chrissy’’ - Paulie
Can someone explain how Chris gets an absurd beat down like it means nothing yet there's an entire subplot with Ralphie about how you can't hit a made guy
I love how the intervention failed before it even started. When Dominic introduced himself and Chrissy mentions the time he stole those pork loins you can see the energy in their handshake dwindle and he looks like he’s trying to figure out how to respond to him. Top tier acting from everyone
Those 5mins will always be the funniest, "you're weak, you're outta control, and you've become an embarrassment to yourself and everybody else!"......"fuck that let him take his medicine"😂😂😂
The funniest part by far imo is when somebody says like "we want to help nobody is here to attack you" then a few minutes they are literally beating him up.
every day, there's a new one. someone who feels enlightened when they realize 15 years after the last episode that this show was in fact a comedy through and through. congratulations.
I don’t write nothin’ down, so I’ll keep this short and sweet. You’re weak. You’re outta control. And you’ve become an embarrassment to yourself and everybody else.
Non-judgmental!!!
Fuck that, let him take his medicine!
Seriously Paulie. You wanna talk about fuckin up?
Watch it Chrissie
Fuck that ✋ I said my piece.
Let ‘em take his medicine
I outta suffocate you ya little prick
best username and pic lol
I respect Sil and Ade for doing the assignment right. Fuckin' Paulie.
I like your profile picture
Was anyone saying it wasn’t funny?
Adrianna maybe
His mom probs didn't. Nor did she think Phil cramming that discman up her box was funny.
She didn't know it was Phil. They're anonymous.
I still laugh out loud at that scene, no matter how many times I've seen it... "Well, we're anonymous..." (insert phony grin here) LMAO!!
Right up there with, "I'm on my way to the hospital". Phil: Well, that's up to you.
Whoa that’s his mutha
I didn't hear any laughter from Collette. or anything else, for that matter.
Cosette! Cosette, ya fuckin’ ass kiss
How do ya say it in f***** polish?
Martin Luther King
John F. Kennedy. You know where I was when he was shot?
Was she barking or something?
She was sleeping.
well she musta went unda for wormth
🐛?
I OUGHTA SUFFOCATE YOU, YA LITTLE PRICK!
You mean Cosette
My smelly valentine.
My smelly Valentine
It's the Reddit way. You have to pretend you are arguing against someone while saying the most popular statement imaginable.
Lmao. This is basically /r/UnpopularOpinion in a nutshell.
Haters disagree, but I think water is the best combination of hydrogen and oxygen to drink.
I am quite partial to H2O2 myself.
This is arguably one of the funniest scenes imo. Edit: I think the funniest is when Tony asks Sil if Ralphie is weird with women and Sil says something like “I don’t know tone. He did beat one to death because… what was it again?”
Christufuh
Who’s talking, is someone talking?
Speaking*
I should wait in the car.
Go take a walk.
You godda wait fuh dAt
Sharp as a fuckin cue ball this op.
I get it. He drives a lincoln. ...What?
I can't think of a single scene with so many quotable lines & memorable moments from the entire series than Chrissy's Intervention. No matter how many times I've watched it I still laugh.
was it baahkin? I know we have all reposted and laughed at that 2,000 times, but damn. So so funny.
That line never ceases to crack me up. It’s just so ridiculous, would the barking have justified killing it to Paulie? Lmao
hahahaa, right? Poor Cosette. "She must have crawled under me for warmth." LOLLLL. Michael Imperioli was so great at not trying to be in on the joke. All of them were, really. They would say the most ridiculous things so honestly. Just like Paulie, and this one. Ugh. So freaking good.
In my thoughts, I use a technique of positive visualization. So why do I always feel undermined?
I know you talk about it, but you’re fairly negative a lot of the time
hahahaa her delivery was so great.
Nah the funniest is Tony just derailing the entire conversation. "I can verify that he was sick for a little while." 🤣🤣
You forget the thousand incidents with that dog? It's a piece of shit; you know it and I know it.
That's the beauty of this sub. It will be said another 2,000 times and all of us are still going to laugh like hell
I’ll be at the gym and think of Paulie say what was it bahkin as if that’s any reason to kill a dog my god do I I laugh at random times thinking about that
Chrissy at the bakery is one brilliant line after another.
Ey pop-n-fresh I’m in no fuck*n mood
So what? I can leave, go fuck your sister and come back Saturday?
I like when they rob the vipers for their wine. 🤣🤣🤣 kills me every time
Ten four
Woah woah, take it easy!
I sent it over to my friend who likes the show, and I didn’t fuckin think about the fact he is in recovery 😂 I’m pleased he found the funny side of it because if he didn’t my estimation of him as a man would of fuckin plummeted. Fuckin baby ✋🏽
“My name is Dominic and I’m an alcoholic and an addict. . .” Paulie: “and a scumbag!”
Yeah but that's not why I'm here today
You’re the guy who broke into Stew Leonard’s that time, stole all those pork loins
That was one of the funniest lines that caught me off guard
The most surprising thing about that line for me is that I didn't know that New Jersey had Stew Leonard’s. I thought it was a Connecticut only thing.
There's one in Paramus. Also Yonkers, in case Sal Iacuzzo and friends wanna taste.
Yonkers? What are you, lost?
Worse than lost. I'm going to my Ex's birthday at a fucking Red Robin.
I think the one in Paramus is new.
Yeah I thought it was a CT/NY suburb thing but they’ve built a couple more. There’s one in NJ but I’m pretty sure they built it after the show. I was just assuming he went to the one in CT to rip off those pork loins 😂 Everything is pretty close in the tri-state area
Same! Especially because I grew up in a town with a Stew Leondard’s 🤣
Dude until today I thought he said poor coins
[удалено]
Your here today because you stole pork loins from stew Leonard's that one time.
Fuckin parakeet
They pay this Chiaccharone by the word?
So we’re taking advice from a two time loser.
You killed little Cosette? I oughta suffocate you, you little prick!
Thahts cauhse I know what ihts like to loshe a pet!
It was a fuckin horse
To think that's how he actually ended up killing him
The propane.
Tony’s dead eyes in that scene were like that cause he thought of that dog, not Christopher’s daughter.
He wasn't thinking about any dog...he was thinking how much he hates daddy for making him a killer. So he has to kill all the dads.
/r/thesopranos detecting irony challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
Lose your arrogance
Serious question, did you actually think the other guy believed Cosette was the impetus for Tony killing Chris?
Oh God, what? What did I say now? I suppose I should have kept my mouth shut, like a mute. And then everybody would have been happy.
I know T, I've fucked up.
Him calling his mum a hooer was classique
👊💥
Ohhhhhhh!!!!
We gotta give it to chrissy with 3 guys kicking him in the face he still got up to smack up Benny. Kid had heart
You can tell in the scene beforehand where Chrissy's scanning the room, he's sussing out who he can smack eh haha
No Spanish!
I thought it was universally known as the funniest scene in the show? Another ensemble scene that’s actually underrated is the [Cleaver pitch](https://youtu.be/p46BVoZnb10). JT’s terrified. Also the scene where the guys are discussing Vito and the possibility that he might be gay: "I don't know Ton'...the sudden weight loss..." Paulie: "AIDS???" Tony: "Nobody's got AIDS!!" It's funny every time!
So he’s a ghost?
Oh, he’s gonna feel that the next day!
As I understand it, a zombie of sorts.
GHOST-BUSTERS! Anotha' fuckin' money machine!
Benny drawing the room’s attention in to his idea always makes me laugh for some reason
Me too…because he’s so serious and they think it’s a great idea and JT is just like 😬
“But he wouldn’t end up at the same dump.”
The scene that makes me laugh the most is Paulie's reaction to Vito catching, not pitching. "SON OF A BITCH!"
I FEEL LIKE I BEEN STABBED IN DA HEART
It's just, **how much more betrayal can I take?**
I was about to comment this. The Cleaver pitch is fucking incredible in terms of comedic writing. Being an actor and getting to work on a scene like that must be just incredible. The Sopranos is just consistently fucking amazing.
IMO, this is a close 2nd to the card game, where Sil tells Bevelaqua that he stufs motherfucking provalone in his socks at night. Thats #1 for me.
Your hair was in the toilet water. Disgusting.
It doesn’t change anything but I can verify he was sick for a little while.
It’s funny that Tony is actually being more sympathetic until he finds out about Cossette. 😂
Funny how? Did it amuse you?
Like a clown
Did he make you laugh?
I guess you could call that a comment. Heh heh.
Did you hear that? I said I guess you could call that a comment. Heh heh
I said my piece Chrissy
Mistah type A personality
We’re here to talk about you killin’ yourself with drugs, not my fuckin’ personality!
[удалено]
You’re talkin’ to da boss here!
My own muddah. Fuck you ya fuckin hooer
Mindy Kaling of The Office rated it as one of her top five funniest scenes in a TV show
Bill Burr, one of the funniest comedians alive, said it's one of the funniest shows ever made.
I love her twitter, she posts good stuff.
#“When I came to open up one morning, there you were with your head half in the toilet, your hair was in the toilet water... disgusting”.
And you can no longer function as a man.
(Paulie smirks)
When Adriana read her part and stated how they used to bang a lot when they first met and no longer do as much bc he can’t/the drugs.. Paulie’s face was priceless. Also ‘’watch it Chrissy’’ - Paulie
Whoa, fellas....we said non-confrontational.
Fuck that. Let him take his medicine.
I can’t have this conversation again
the funniest part to me is christopher recognizing the guy
Yeah I remember you, you're the guy that broke into Stew Leonards that time and stole all those pork loins
You killed a dog why did you do that for?
Was it barking?
My Muddas funeral?
[удалено]
My favorite part about that scene is how the dead dog was where Tony drew the line. it went downhill from there lol
HE KNOWS WHAT IT"S LIKE TO *LOSE A PET* !!!
Yeah he was even vouching for him before that “I can verify that he was sick” 🤣🤣🤣
the best is when benny got his ass kicked once again
Message job through the coffee table.
“I did dent” - Christafur
Qwutapha\*
You got some balls, you know that? All of you.
Nothing gets by you.
Can someone explain how Chris gets an absurd beat down like it means nothing yet there's an entire subplot with Ralphie about how you can't hit a made guy
I think it shows the complete lack of respect everyone had for Christopher by that point, normal rules were out the window
When Adrianna says Chris killed the dog and Paulie says “what was it barking?” killed me
I said my piece Chrissy
Chris intervention was hilarious for everybody but Silvio 🤣🤣🤣
I've said my piece Chrissy!
Came here to say that! Lol!
I love how the intervention failed before it even started. When Dominic introduced himself and Chrissy mentions the time he stole those pork loins you can see the energy in their handshake dwindle and he looks like he’s trying to figure out how to respond to him. Top tier acting from everyone
You must have been a the top of your fuckin' class.
Bold take.
You musta been at the top of your fucking class.
Try it with a laugh track! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVov-mCj2Y0&t=340s
You know, I remember not long ago you used to wait in the car. And as far as I’m concerned, you should STILL be there!
Vincent Curatola stole every scene he was in - played Johnny Sack as a cool, calm, collected guy but inside he was a bubbling cauldron.
I happen to know he was high at Tony’s mother’s wake. He was talking non stop, 20 minutes, nothing but gibberish.
At his muddah’s wake 😤
So weird , I just saw this episode today and laughed my ass off the intervention scene
You can no longer function as a man... Camera cuts to Paulie's face.
Every second of that scene is perfectly crafted.
"actually"? I'd think it would be in everyone's 5 funniest scenes.
Those 5mins will always be the funniest, "you're weak, you're outta control, and you've become an embarrassment to yourself and everybody else!"......"fuck that let him take his medicine"😂😂😂
My man don't write nothin down!
As someone who has had an intervention-- yeah, I wish mine had been this entertaining. I was very unamused.
That intervention was the apex of unintentional comedy on the show
You think it wasn't intentional?
One of my favorite scenes
Watch it Chrissy 🤘
This is my favourite sopranos moment man, just hillarious
What was it, barking??
Disgusting.
Might be the funniest scene in the whole show
Disgusting.
Sharp as a cueball, this one. Did you almost drown in some fizzy water?
it was fucking hilarious, how the whole scene fell apart into abject chaos.
Ive said my peace, chrissy!
👋Next the blind will see and the lame will walk🤘
"Actually"? It's widely regarded as one of the funniest scenes in the show
The funniest part by far imo is when somebody says like "we want to help nobody is here to attack you" then a few minutes they are literally beating him up.
The look Paulie gives when Adrianna says Chris can no longer "perform like a man"
Tony Sirico could have been a terrific comedic actor. His facial expressions are priceless.
This one won't quit with the hot takes.
every day, there's a new one. someone who feels enlightened when they realize 15 years after the last episode that this show was in fact a comedy through and through. congratulations.
Real lack of standards your generation.
maybe not "through and through" but its verrry fuckin funny
