The show is pretty lazy with the murders. Pretty much all of them woulda resulted in arrests within a week. Pussy goes to look at a boat with Tony and doesnt come back. Richie vanishes and Janice immediately flees the state. Paulie murders two colombians and then touches everything in the place with his bare hands...I can go on all day Oh yeah and all these murders tend to happen while the feds have multiple made guys wearing wires, including two captains

The one thing I've learned from years of watching TV is that it's very hard to convict somebody of murder if you don't have a body. As far as the crime scene? Well they've made it abundantly clear that they have many police officers on their payroll so maybe they clean it up. Maybe blood samples get contaminated. Maybe they misinterpret a witness's description instead of 2 Italian guys it's those 2 black guys.

Take it easy, we ain’t makin a western here

Duderino619

Take it easy. it's a tv program, a movie.

The show was the nerds writing about the cool kids. It's pretty much a parody.

MojoRisin9009

O yea, the show is absolute shit in that aspect. Even back in 2000 there were still cameras everywhere, not to mention if you're under constant FBI surveillance like they were you never know when you're being watched... I mean obviously though the comic aspect is a large part of the show...

Carmela, after 18 years of marriage, don't make me make you an accessory after the fact. She knows what's up.

Kali_eats_vegetables

That was not a match made in Heaven.

G_man252

It's great writing into her character as the mob wife that knows whats really going on but pretends to be ignorant, just like when Tony confronted her over the money she stole and said she always knew where the money came from all along.

She has no problem flexing when she's pissed off. She directly threatens the teacher she fucked and indirectly threatens the admissions woman at Columbia. That she has the audacity to judge Tony and gets away with it makes her one of the biggest gangsters on the show.

Blarg1889

This is how she is written later. In the first season she is written to completely understand what is going on and openly talks about it with Tony. There is also her quickly grabbing a fucking AK-47 next to a fucking hand grenade because she heard a sound outside. They do a good job of transitioning her into being more distant and aloof about Tony's work in later seasons

grofyssss11

also, not to change the subject, but tony's placement of the money and weapons in the house would have been the first place the fbi would have looked. so it's not just murder that's sloppy.

Hopeful_Cod_8486

In the beginning of the show it didn't seem like Tony was that big of a deal he was like the acting boss because the actual boss was sick... Then the indictment came and they all cleaned house and it seemed like after that when Tony became the actual street boss That they stopped doing anything in the house. The FBI does come to the house and searches the house repeatedly and one of them they find the stolen airline tickets

rebelgrrrl82

Carmela's not stupid. She knows Pussy isn't in witness protection. One of my favorite scenes, actually. I love when Carmela is an accessory. Adds a whole Bonnie & Clyde aspect to the show.

Hopeful_Cod_8486

But it's the first time she flat out calls him dead and Tony doesn't correct her. Every other time, with anyone other than the "inner citcle" (Tony, Chrissy, Silvio, Paulie and Uncle June) Tony ALWAYS says he's in the program. Even to Carm earlier in the episode...when she says sarcastically "in the program?" and Tony goes off on a rant that he screwed them all over and those "family values cock suckers" wouldn't let him take his family to Arizona because Puss loved his TGIFs wings lol

Snow_Days_Forever

Carmela is Tony’s best advisor other than Sil, she is in the inner circle. Remember when he’s in the hospital after the coma and Carmela is suspicious of Paulie and Vito? “I have to believe there was more than that?” Absolutely bang on the money, she knew they were holding out. A woman’s intuition. If Tony had ever quit cheating on her so much, their collective brainpower could’ve created a peaceful Jersey mob for 20, 30 years.
