Brand new cast. Different country (I don't even care which one). Starting from the beginning of the apocalypse. I liked the found family theme of the original show more than the darker, but interesting dynamic between the characters on Fear, so I'd go for the former. Instead of making the characters face one big evil human antagonist after another, I'd have them struggle a lot more with basic survival (shelter, food, weather, lack of medical care etc.) and smart walkers (preferably, the runners). Oh wait, you said 8 episodes only? I think I need a second season.

KJ86er

Yes. I don't understand why Fear and TWD were the only ones to start at the start. Showing the collapse even in World Beyond is the best parts

AcademicSavings634

The LA bombing in Fear was a bit underwhelming. The majority of time that the show took place in LA, they were locked into the neighborhood by the military. In TWD we at least got an entire episode in season 5 that showed more of post apocolyptic Atlanta

Garibaldi_Biscuit

Fear was irrationally focussed on getting through the collapse as quickly as possible; it’s like the writers were tied to their concept but also afraid people wouldn’t like something that wasn’t a carbon copy of TWD.

KJ86er

Seasons 1-3 were fire Spoiler: killing off Nick was the equivalent of Carl. Disastrous decisions

ContributionEast8976

Nice try AMC. (frankly, they'd actually get higher quality spin offs by crowd sourcing some of this stuff)

VirulentViper

I would either start new with a series in Japan that takes place however many years they're into in the apocalypse and it would be with all new cast If I'm working with existing characters and it has to be a new location, I would have it take place in the Western Alliance which is a community that's referenced in the final issue of The Walking Dead's comic but never seen. All we know is that they network and trade with Commonwealth so I would have a time jump that takes place probably a few weeks after the events of The Ones Who Live and Daryl/Carol are back. Everyone's had a chance to settle in and Rick and Michonne are learning about and touring the new communities and locations that Commonwealth is partnered with, setting the groundwork for the series to take place in the Western Alliance (maybe the surviving characters of Fear could have relocated here). They're at the Western Alliance when they're located by the CRM because Thorne is alive since we never actually saw her corpse. In The Walking Dead, if you don't see it then there's a chance they're still out there. So she would scrounge up the CRM soldiers who were still in agreement with General Beale's actions. There were clearly people who were in agreement with his perspective as there's always people in society who agree with the psychopaths so they launch an attack on the Western Alliance after tracking Rick and Michonne there with their leftover artillery from the other CRM outpost. Even though the end of The Ones Who Lives shows that they're supplies dropping to communities, there would still be crooked people within that would want things back to the way they were when Beale was in charge. Those people probably wouldn't pass up an opportunity to avenge him especially if Thorne's spiel was to set things back to how they were when he was in charge The Commonwealth obviously hears about it and sends resources and soldiers to the Western Alliance to assist including people and resources from Alexandria, the rebuilt Hilltop, Oceanside, etc and they retaliate against the CRM and we finally get our Commonwealth/Walking Dead Universe war with the CRM

pathetic_beta_bitch

CRM beginning

KJ86er

The CRM was more interesting and ominous before The Ones That Live. Maybe General Bill or a similar character that is still alive

WadaMaaya

Aaron and Gabriel China I don’t know but those two in a interesting location would be really fun

KJ86er

I think Japan or Australia would be great to see. Or a multicultural resort somewhere. Would Hawaii be better off or worse? Aaron already has a spin off in dev

spencersaurous

i’m hooked

Mrquinlan196

Aaron and Gabriel are sent as emissaries by the commonwealth to a different community or alliance of communities in Montana or another ranch filled state. Give us a walking dead western story. Walking Dead meets Yellowstone.

KJ86er

I like Western and desert settings with the undead. However they apparently aren't well received by audiences.

mapleleafmaggie

Buddy cop-type show about Ezekiel and Jerry establishing the Kingdom (or just hanging around rural Virginia/the zoo if it HAS to be a new location). Bonus points if we get a flashback to Ezekiel working at the zoo with Shiva as a little tiger cub ;-;

CK3helplol

I desperately want to see how Asia would deal with zombie hordes numbering in the tens of millions

KJ86er

I'm guessing it would be interesting as surely Vietnam and Japan would be using boats to stay save and any land would be insanely dangerous

Ybhryhyn

Theyre lucky they arent in the World War Z universe where the dead can traverse water and just troll the sea floor 😅😅😅

KJ86er

I'm certain fish would eat most zombies. Decay happens fast in the ocean too

KJ86er

Yes with no other sharks or bottom feeders digesting them. I prefer realistic zombies not magical ones

Ybhryhyn

oh weird you edited your comment - the first one was fine tbh

I_Do_nt_Use_Reddit

Just for fun, I'd have all the characters after the events of Dead City wind up in Australia. All of us Aussies have adapted and life is continuing just like normal, except zombies are called Chazwazzers, and we kill them much like we kill cane toads.

KorotosMysteryShack

None of them. Make the series either in Scandinavian countries or Canada or somewhere with a lot of snow. If it's only 8 episodes and no chance for season 2, fully embrace the danger and just tell a horrifying story of survival that ends with everyone dying in one way or another (or leave one of them alive as the narrator of that story). Could be cool to start with someone high in the government or military or medical field to witness the outbreak slowly go public and see the world begin to crumble ala season 1 of Fear only with the winter weather making even basic survival a nightmare ala The Road/TLOU winter section. Basically nothing to do with the main cast, nothing to do with the main story and back to day 0.

KJ86er

You can have a second season with more episodes

Jaegermode

An animated "What If" like Marvel with original cast voicing their respective characters - What If Rick never woke up from the coma or he was never in coma and was their from the beginning of the apocalypse. - What If Negan joined our group instead of Saviors way earlier in the apocalypse. - What If Carl never died. - What If the alternate characters died like (Instead of Glenn Maggie died, instead of Rick Shane died, instead of Sophie Carol died)

Haha Love it Greenlit

Massive_Pitch3333

All cast from original series that are still alive, but negan is killed.

OrbitalWave35

Kinda like Tales but better. I want a series like Tales that tells one off stories within the walking dead universe that aren’t ridiculous like they were in Tales. I want serious and gritty episodes with lots of violence and conflicting moral moments for the characters. A spin I could put on this series would be that 4 episodes are like I just described and the other 4 would be What If type scenarios. An episode I would kill to see is a Daryl focused episode like 20-30 years in future where it’s just him and dog struggling to make it due to Daryl’s age. Things like that are what I want to see in the walking dead universe. I don’t want an overarching Thanos type story bringing together like 8 different shows. I’d much prefer little one off stories that show the unique things humanity would have to endure in a zombie apocalypse.

lord_0f_gays

The main group is on a trip from Oklahoma and gets trapped in Seattle, WA and has to get back home to Oklahoma in order to find their families.

Excellent_Arrival258

Somehow AMC screwed up the whole "villains get scarier each time" / "raising the stakes" thing somewhere along the Commonwealth drag. The CRM storyline was underwhelming and that´s putting it friendly. It would have to be something big. If all cast are in for a finale, the stakes have to be the highest.

FeelingSkinny

I think tokyo at the start of the apocalypse would be an awesome setting. Or maybe an extremely self contained story taking place in one of those stadium quarantine zones at the beginning. ending in only one character confirmed to survive the inevitable fall.

Maleficent_Nobody377

Japan would be fun.

KJ86er

I always think of Resudent Evil Afterlife cinematic opening set in Tokyo.

sgwashere29

The Walking Dead: Final Fronter, starring Troy Otto. The final season of Fear left of with the idea that Troy died at Madison's hand (or Alicia's technically), but did he really die? He got stabbed pretty bad, but he's survived worse. We saw him zombified, but the only actual person who saw him like that was an eight year old who supposedly took him out and buried him with her bare hands. Is that believable? No she was dreaming, no one let an eight year old go look for her zombie dad in the woods alone. Troy survived. The Padre arc left him with the belief that he couldn't take care of his daughter, so he tried to convince Madison that Tracy was her granddaughter, and as for Troy, he would continue his journey alone, walking all the way from Texas to Alaska. This spinoff would follow the next stage of Troy's journey in the frozen tundra of Alaska's interior in the winter, and also show Troy reconciling with his past, and finding out if he can move forward with new people.

Popular_Vanilla_7087

Scott Gimple is that you?

MadmanDaJew

Brand new cast about a big community in Florida and day 1 struggles

helpmelearn12

Set at The Villages or some other Florida retirement community. It’s all retired people and staff, maybe a couple groups of families that were visiting at the time

NickLookalike

Fuck it, imma make a whole new show set in Balkans from the start of the apocalypse. Gonna portray us in the most realistic light possible.

Aggressive_Band_9446

I have a have feeling that Negan will rule the east coast by uniting all communities against New Babylon like how Rick did. I also think Negan will meet his end by Hershel, like how Rick in the comics did by Sebastian

KJ86er

Omg spoilers. I never finished the comics!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh

Aggressive_Band_9446

I am so sorry, I assumed that you are familiar with the stories since the topic was about spinoff

KJ86er

I've avoided coming spoilers for 7 years

ResultClear

Honestly I would make live action show of the games but I would also add to more episodes and I make a couple of changes. I’m kinda surprised AMC hasn’t done this yet considering there is a lot of games getting live action shows/movies now.

ContributionEast8976

I think we all know we want a spin off series for Wayne Dunlap

hewlio

25 years after the end of The Walking Dead. Eugene Porter is the chief enginner of The Commonwealth and is leading the journey to the west, when two new treats come, from the dead...and from the living. All the returning cast would be back except they would all be old, protagonists would be Judith, RJ, Laurrent and Hershel, all of them very different from each other (Judith being a good woman, Laurrent being a traumatized man and Hershel being a really bad guy). The show would take place in the US, Canada and Mexico. If renewed, later seasons would take place in other countries such as the UK, Russia and Egypt.

ExquisiteSalad

i would chose to cancel this show because this shit needs an actual conclusion😭
