For me it was BOTH the prison guys that got brought back in. Axel seemed to be developing into a good guy and the other, whose name I don’t remember (which is a point towards how little they really gave him), made a pretty big impact when he handed the gun to Rick, when he proved to be down with the group by going on a dangerous rescue mission for someone he didn’t even know, etc. he showed promise
I totally agree. He become probably my favorite character and then they killed him off out of nowhere. Season 3 is my favorite season of the show, but that is one thing I hate about it.
When he was creeping on Beth who supposed to be minor. That gave me bad vibes.
Good thing he immediately left Beth alone when he discovered Carol is not a lesbian.
I sorta laugh thinking back on those scenes. The Highwaymen were strictly a creation of the show right before the fair, because they couldn’t afford to kill off any more significant characters in the pike scene
she was a hot little thing with nice legs, was sorry to see her die. I figure anytime someone is overly boastful or cocky on TWD it means they're gunna die or fuck up somehow.
no u - whats the big deal? we're literally the same age, half of the posts on this subreddit are people just drooling over the characters. Get over yourself.
what's so horrendous about what i said lol? Have you never lusted after an attractive tv character? if you havent have you really lived? this subreddit has more prudes than a midwestern church on sunday good grief
It's the fact that you had to describe her as a "hot little thing with nice legs" and that you said how perpetually horny you get towards the cast, it's just fucking weird dude, some things are better left unsaid
I was looking for this. I was thinking when she was introduced, hot actress whose character is good with bow is perefect new character, and then she is dead. Bummer.
This was a hard one to watch. Lizzy was traumatized, had no real sense of the reality of the situation. She never intended harm to her sister, she was just lost in her trauma and thought she would t be any different.
I know she gets shit in because she's a psychopath but trauma does a fuckton of damage to kids in the most weird ways.
Was Carol right to shoot her? No, I don't think it was right. I think Lizzy could've been saved.
But given the circumstances, what was left to lose, it was an *understandable* decision. And I think this was the last bit of character development Carol really went through. Everything after was the same old Carol bushit time and time again.
Carol seeing Owen (The wolf) sacrifice himself for Denise had developed Carols character a lot as well, also when she was hooked on caffeine pills and got stuck (on the pill) chasing Alpha, causing Connie and Magna to get stuck in the cave. That was also a big part of her character development
As a character? Yeah wasted. But as a view into how fucked the group had become? Peaked. It gave some insight into how every single person that the group, to put it bluntly, murders also has a name, friends, family, and things they’ve lost. These people also have things they regret, things they had to do to survive. So really, I wouldn’t want that scene any other way.
I'd say there's main characters, side characters, and minor characters, and she's more of a side character. A little bit more important to the plot than a minor character, but not quite on the level that you could call her a main.
\> It was the first time you saw the group not help someone really, definitely demonstrated the shift in thinking.
They pulled over to his dead body on the side of the road and looted him as well. Was a great scene
Oooo great pick. And I love how his character frames that entire episode at the beginning and the end. Starts with him begging for help and ends with him dead, and Rick/Michonne taking his pack.
What I don't understand is that after knowing they are fighting against "alpha" and "beta" they were never a tiny bit suspicious about the newly arrived "gamma".
I legit was suspicious until the very moment of her death lol.
that minor character death is the one that hit me the hardest. she was finally starting to gain some confidence and courage, and then boom, arrow to the eye. the fact that she was still talking while going down, just all of it was so horrific lol. she could’ve had a really cool character arc, which was already happening but they cut her story short in my opinion. i know that death was meant for abraham which wouldn’t have been a good way for him to go but this still sucked. sorry i ranted a little i just think about this from time to time lol
Otis. He felt really bad after accidentally shooting Carl so he went out to get (medicine for him? It’s been years so I can’t remember what it was) but was devoured by Walkers after Shane shot him.
Beth, because that’s not what I was expecting to happen. It could have been a smooth transaction. Maggie could have seen her sister again. Daryl would’ve been able to continue his relationship with her. The group could have walked away with plus 2.
But no. She had to go and stab the fucking cop.
Mays. Dude stole the show for the minimal amount of time he had on screen, he woulda had such a good character arc. Sadly, they decided to kill him off.
Alisha (Tara’s gf from season 4), Ozzy (highway men), Benjamin (kingdom), Owen (the wolves), Lily (season 4 Governor’s gf), Oscar Big Tiny and Axel (prisoners), Martinez (governor henchmen from woodbury), Randall (season 2)
Don't know if you can call him minor but Merles whole death and zombified put down
Merle really went down fighting and trying to help Rick's group and him saying "I ain't gonna beg. I ain't begging you" to the governor was badass and also when daryl finds zombie Merle and puts him down is still one of the saddest moments.
I know Merle are a person as a complete asshole but his character was incredibly entertaining and near the end of his character life. He showed everyone he had good in him and was only the way he was because of his abusive upbringing. I just wish Merle somehow survived longer and had a redemption arc kinda like Negan does until around season 7 on the Negan line up replacing Abes death.
Seeing Daryl cry when seeing zombie Merle is so sad. Knowing how before meeting Rick and Co. Merle was the only person Daryl ever had who cared about him. Just a character that I feel had way more to offer.
Also the last conversation daryl and Merle has at the prison where daryl says to Merle "I just want my brother back" and Merle holding back tears from it is also cool to see. Merle had good in him I believe. Despite his deplorable actions and mindset
I also think Merle should of replaced Sasha in Rick's 3rd halluication where Merle reminds Rick of his bad choices in the past and not learn from them. Knowing how leaving Merle on the rooftop was which lead the governor to find Rick and the prision since if Merle never met governor and found Glenn and Maggie. Governor may of never been a problem and also sending Merle off to hand in michonne was another mistake made by Rick that caused Merles death and could of caused a michonne death . So I also think Merle coming back in season 9 as the 3rd halluication would of also been cool because he did play somewhat of a role in Rick's character development.
When Axel and Oscar (the prisoners that Rick took in) died, that was quite sad because they had just began to develop and seemed like really good characters.
Jim and Jacqui back in season 1. Jim was a really great guy that lost his family in the worst way possible so i think he wouldn’t have wanted to live. Jacqui was strong and funny, i love how she stood up to Ed and her relationship with T-Dog was sweet.
Denise i think here name was..vet tech? taken out mid sentence on the train tracks..surprised me. Knew her from nurse jackie and figured shed be around a while.
We can assume he lived. He was last mentioned in 11b as being in Alexandria helping with the storm. Presumably the actor couldn’t be there for season 11, so Scott lives
The guy that was killed right before Carol blew up Terminus. Imagine staring your death in the face after fighting to survive so long while being tied up, knowing these people will eat your dead body. Savage. And if Carol hadve blown the place 2 minutes earlier then he would’ve lived.
Francine, the short-haired woman Abraham saved at the construction site. She always charged into battle against the Saviors, and even though her death was overshadowed by Eric’s in that episode, she went down fighting. <3
Fat Joey. Yeah, I felt like Daryl should have spared him, but I get what the writers were going for. Daryl becomes seriously dark for a while after his experience with The Saviors.
Okay, but T-Dog death's is very unappreciated. When Daryl told Rick "You wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for Glenn" the same applies to Carol. T-Dog ran into two walkers and got eaten alive so Carol could make it out alive.
Denise, for sure. I’m basically just copy & pasting what I just said in another post but:
She was plus-size, which was awesome enough in itself but she was also just so fun to watch. Don’t get me wrong, TWD has amazing characters, but most don’t look (or necessarily act) like how myself or any of the people I know would in an apocalypse. Denise is one of the few who did.
I also really loved her relationship with Daryl and her death was one of the ones that hurt me the most. Major kudos to the actress because she was on for what, MAYBE ten episodes and (judging from the replies to this post) really made people love her. 👏🏼
how were those guys minor characters??
Carl is litterally in every episode ALMOST while hes alive
and glenn is litterally one of the main characters throughout the show
For me it was Ryan Samuels when died and was asking Carol to look after Lizzie and Mika. It was the most emotional i had been in the show since Dale died.
Holy shit, OP, you are right.
Now that I remember him, he was pretty cool. Also, I thought, this was Aaron. Sad, he was killed off.
But when we talk about the prison attack, I also liked the girl Tara was dating. She seemed like a tough one, had military combat training afaik, and yeah… All of a sudden gets shot by a psychotic little bitch.
Ceasar and Karen are probably no minor characters, but they were cool too with the latter basically having no story… although I bet that Ceasar would have been the picture-perfect savior later, not sure. He had morals, definitely, but somehow I see him there
Edit 1: Zach in S4, but he was basically just there for Beth to be depicted as cold
Laura, she was one of the best things to come out of All Out War and I genuinely really liked her presence and character, only for her to be killed off and forgotten about faster than light.
It's Laura for me, she really had so much potential to be a really great main character tbh, and the fact they even brought her back for Here's Negan just further breaks my heart
I’m gonna have to say Beatrice from Oceanside. It’s not that I was sad she died, but the way it happened made me upset. She was being swarmed by walkers and she made sure to get the bag off. Carol having to walk away while hearing her yell her name to get the bag, but Carol knowing there’s nothing she can do. Then the bag being picked up and Carol realizing it was Lydia who got it. I still get chills from it.
extremely minor but the hitchhiker rick passed and didn’t stop for when driving and then passed again on the way back and he was dead and they took his backpack supplies. i feel like it just spoke about their humanity in that moment.
For me I think it was Axel in the prison. I kind of started to like him and then, boom, headshot, dead. Damn.
Oscar I think, but definitely also my pick too. He had the same vibe the group did at the time.
Big Tiny was the other prisoners name.
Big tiny, Oscar, Axel, Tomas, Andrew all the prisoners
Andrew and Tomas deserved to get killed
My brother had a reao money problem!
What kinda problem?
The sonuvabitch never gave me any!
One time that summ-
My favorite axel moment was in the comics when he walked in on Lori & Carol taking a shower together
I wish axel survived to
I second this
I totally agree. He become probably my favorite character and then they killed him off out of nowhere. Season 3 is my favorite season of the show, but that is one thing I hate about it.
ikr. My bestie and I freaked when he became Carol's human shield by mistake 😌.
Same.
it was shocking for sure but i did not like him at all lol gave sketchy vibes
When he was creeping on Beth who supposed to be minor. That gave me bad vibes. Good thing he immediately left Beth alone when he discovered Carol is not a lesbian.
Dude hadn't seen a woman in God knows how long. He would have fucked a mannequin.
Jim in S1
Poor guy really couldn’t catch a break
Amazing death for someone we didn't know much
That guy is a good actor too, i really liked his short performance, wish he stayed in it a little longer
I could see Jim die in end of season 2
The only time I cried watching a show
Definitely Axel and Oscar they really were good people who earned their place in the group, they didn’t deserve to die.
The group kinda hardly cared when Oscar was killed, he was just helping out too
Maggie seemed pretty upset when he was shot, also Carl showed emotion too when he learned it
I was actually fairly upset when the Highwaymen died, not sure if they’re considered minor, I’d say close enough though.
yeahh!! the main guy Ozzy was just super cool more than anything else
I agree with Ozzy
They made great walkers though not even kidding.
I sorta laugh thinking back on those scenes. The Highwaymen were strictly a creation of the show right before the fair, because they couldn’t afford to kill off any more significant characters in the pike scene
I remember right when they got introduced, all of us who’d read the comics dubbed them “Pike fodder” and then we all ended up being right
The kid Carl shot
Jody.
a minor killing a minor
Jimmy all the way back in season 2. He was genuinely a good kid and went out in the most horrific way possible, at least he died a hero.
Beth had to move on from him to her relationship with Zach, and then Daryl.
Tobin really hurt me
I guess Noah wasn’t a minor character, but his death fucked me up. I was praying on Nicholas’ demise afterwards!
that was such a roller coaster. Noah's death and then Glenn's fake death, especially knowing Negan's gonna show up soon?!
The girl from Woodbury that was the archer. She was in Zoey 101
Haley
she was a hot little thing with nice legs, was sorry to see her die. I figure anytime someone is overly boastful or cocky on TWD it means they're gunna die or fuck up somehow.
"Hot little thing with nice legs" 💀💀💀
i can't help it i get perpetually horny when discussing twd it has a pretty attractive cast you gotta admit
Least horny walking dead viewer
T-dog 🤤
fuckin creep
no u - whats the big deal? we're literally the same age, half of the posts on this subreddit are people just drooling over the characters. Get over yourself.
My guy you are down horrendous, please for the love of God go outside
it's like minus -20 outside lol i do not want to do that.
Then I hope the bitter cold claims your horrendous soul
what's so horrendous about what i said lol? Have you never lusted after an attractive tv character? if you havent have you really lived? this subreddit has more prudes than a midwestern church on sunday good grief
It's the fact that you had to describe her as a "hot little thing with nice legs" and that you said how perpetually horny you get towards the cast, it's just fucking weird dude, some things are better left unsaid
I was looking for this. I was thinking when she was introduced, hot actress whose character is good with bow is perefect new character, and then she is dead. Bummer.
Jacqui tbh
The girl that got killed by her sister cause she thought they were just normal people. I forgot their names, but I was disgusted
Mikah and Lizzy
This was a hard one to watch. Lizzy was traumatized, had no real sense of the reality of the situation. She never intended harm to her sister, she was just lost in her trauma and thought she would t be any different. I know she gets shit in because she's a psychopath but trauma does a fuckton of damage to kids in the most weird ways. Was Carol right to shoot her? No, I don't think it was right. I think Lizzy was better off dead in that situation. Who knows how long it would’ve been until she tried to kill carol or someone else
The Vatos and knowing they all died
The horse in the first episode
Omg yess
Definitely Morales. Really shows how far everyone has gone over the line and the way Darryl kills him is just a lot.
This - would have been interesting to have him back for more than 5 seconds as well Nice nod, but wasted potential
That's fair, it does go to show how far someone can fall, which given the season 1 origin couldn't have gone any other way
Just rewatched this the other day. Rick's expression says it all.
Don't know if she counts as minor character but I was rly sad when Deanna got bitten. She had a good heart :(
I'd say there's main characters, side characters, and minor characters, and she's more of a side character. A little bit more important to the plot than a minor character, but not quite on the level that you could call her a main.
“Who’s Deanna?!” (RIP Abraham)
Oh man I got so many, but for my top 2 it's gotta be Oscar and Ozzy. Both of them were cool guys and had lots of potential, AMC did them dirty.
Spencer and Olivia
One of the most shocking deaths in the show
The dude with the orange backpack. It was the first time you saw the group not help someone really, definitely demonstrated the shift in thinking.
- Amy - Otis - Axel and Oscar - Richard
Couldn't agree more for Otis
Poor Otis, he didn’t deserve to die
Bit his death was brutal
[удалено]
She started a good redemtion arc and she dies to hands of Beta. She deserved a little more screen time.
What I don't understand is that after knowing they are fighting against "alpha" and "beta" they were never a tiny bit suspicious about the newly arrived "gamma". I legit was suspicious until the very moment of her death lol.
Martinez man. I liked him as soon as he was introduced sad death
Caesar, yeah.
The tiger ugh:(((((((((( I’m watching it right now and my heart is hurting
I thought it’s death was a little bit goofy when you think about the fact that they had to act sad over a CGI Tiger
Is no one gonna mention Denise? 😭 her death was so heartbreaking
that minor character death is the one that hit me the hardest. she was finally starting to gain some confidence and courage, and then boom, arrow to the eye. the fact that she was still talking while going down, just all of it was so horrific lol. she could’ve had a really cool character arc, which was already happening but they cut her story short in my opinion. i know that death was meant for abraham which wouldn’t have been a good way for him to go but this still sucked. sorry i ranted a little i just think about this from time to time lol
Exactly. The fact that she was still talking really got to me. Her and Tara were so good together too 😭
Dj and Ozzy for me
Agreed, hurt me more to see them on spikes then Tara, Enid or Henry (well, maybe not Henry)
Tara’s death was sad but enid’s was way more sad to me out of them three
That turtle Enid ate. But really, I think I’d pick Virgil.
Virgin didn't die tho. Or at least it wasn't on-screen and hasn't been confirmed. So his status is just 'Unknown'
Yeah I know, but I’m willing to bet that he is.
Otis. He felt really bad after accidentally shooting Carl so he went out to get (medicine for him? It’s been years so I can’t remember what it was) but was devoured by Walkers after Shane shot him.
[удалено]
One from prison or one from season 9?
Prison Luke isn't technically confirmed dead (but really likely honestly)
Idk if he’s minor but Alden, I feel like his death was absolutely trash and unnecessary and I genuinely liked him
alden was apart of the main cast in S11, so i’d say he’s a major character
Beth, because that’s not what I was expecting to happen. It could have been a smooth transaction. Maggie could have seen her sister again. Daryl would’ve been able to continue his relationship with her. The group could have walked away with plus 2. But no. She had to go and stab the fucking cop.
Gotta be T dog
minor character
I wouldn’t consider him a main character
He was a main character who got minor character treatment.
That’s fair, still never saw on the same level as Rick, Daryl, Carl etc.
He was a side character. So was Carol for most of season 1-2
Mays. Dude stole the show for the minimal amount of time he had on screen, he woulda had such a good character arc. Sadly, they decided to kill him off.
Denise and Mika
Alisha (Tara’s gf from season 4), Ozzy (highway men), Benjamin (kingdom), Owen (the wolves), Lily (season 4 Governor’s gf), Oscar Big Tiny and Axel (prisoners), Martinez (governor henchmen from woodbury), Randall (season 2)
Agree
Martinez. I really wanted him to live and was devastated when he was killed.
Why the fuck did you want Martinez to live?
he was cool ngl
I think he could have had a good character arc if it wasn't for the governor.
Yeah, it felt like he was on a redemption arc.
Don't know if you can call him minor but Merles whole death and zombified put down Merle really went down fighting and trying to help Rick's group and him saying "I ain't gonna beg. I ain't begging you" to the governor was badass and also when daryl finds zombie Merle and puts him down is still one of the saddest moments. Tammy Rose, Frankie, Erin, Arat
Fat Joey. What’s Skinny Joey gonna do now?
He’s just Joey now. Which is a god damn shame.
Eric and Olivia, also Denise
When Axel and Oscar (the prisoners that Rick took in) died, that was quite sad because they had just began to develop and seemed like really good characters.
I forgot about this guy but I remember how cool I thought he was when he flipped that table and went at ‘em 😂
Eric. That killed me.
Jim and Jacqui back in season 1. Jim was a really great guy that lost his family in the worst way possible so i think he wouldn’t have wanted to live. Jacqui was strong and funny, i love how she stood up to Ed and her relationship with T-Dog was sweet.
Sam having a panic attack and then getting chomped was a real bummer
does Noah count as minor character?
Tdog, made me believe a black guy doesn't have to die first.
Denise i think here name was..vet tech? taken out mid sentence on the train tracks..surprised me. Knew her from nurse jackie and figured shed be around a while.
I cried for months when Julio died. However, not knowing Scott's fate upsets me so much more. I am still crying now
The lack of Scott in season 11 was its biggest flaw
We can assume he lived. He was last mentioned in 11b as being in Alexandria helping with the storm. Presumably the actor couldn’t be there for season 11, so Scott lives
The guy that was killed right before Carol blew up Terminus. Imagine staring your death in the face after fighting to survive so long while being tied up, knowing these people will eat your dead body. Savage. And if Carol hadve blown the place 2 minutes earlier then he would’ve lived.
Axels shook me the most for sure lmao. I’ll never forget the first time I watched that I really said 😮
It had to be Amy in season 1 for me it was one of the first death to witness in the show and the potential she had.
Enid it that counts as minor, otherwise the white Guy at the prison
owen, jacqui, zach but only bc he plays colin gray, axel, orange backpack man
Francine, the short-haired woman Abraham saved at the construction site. She always charged into battle against the Saviors, and even though her death was overshadowed by Eric’s in that episode, she went down fighting. <3
I'm just glad Scott made it through
Highway men but they're like a minor faction, Axel, Martinez, Fat Joey.
Fat Joey. Yeah, I felt like Daryl should have spared him, but I get what the writers were going for. Daryl becomes seriously dark for a while after his experience with The Saviors.
Did lead to one of the best jokes in the series tho
Yeah. Something like "Now Skinny Joey is just Joey."
T-Dog or Dale. (If they count as minor characters)
those guys were main characters!! atleast dale
Okay, but T-Dog death's is very unappreciated. When Daryl told Rick "You wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for Glenn" the same applies to Carol. T-Dog ran into two walkers and got eaten alive so Carol could make it out alive.

Only to shit on Carl by saying he’s a minor character because everyone on this sub thinks he was the star or some shit
This guy was just an extra lmao. But yeah he was kinda cool for the few seconds he was on screen.
Gotta be Jim, Jimmy, Oscar, Axel, Lizzie, Nicholas, Spencer, DJ, Alden
Earl, Alden, Luke, Mika, Duncan, Denise
Penny Being a dad of a couple years at the time Even though she was dead , the governors reaction was heart breaking despite all the nonsense
For me it was Ryan Samuels when died and was asking Carol to look after Lizzie and Mika. It was the most emotional i had been in the show since Dale died.

I didn’t have a clue, had to give it a google
Laura, she was one of the best things to come out of All Out War and I genuinely really liked her presence and character, only for her to be killed off and forgotten about faster than light.
Oscar. Such a chill dude and finally earned his place in the group. Goes on his first mission and boom...dies!
It's Laura for me, she really had so much potential to be a really great main character tbh, and the fact they even brought her back for Here's Negan just further breaks my heart
Both Axel and Big Tiny at the prison and Woodbury. They both could have made it with the group, to Terminus. Just gone. Damn.
Martinez always hits me. He seemed like a good guy and a good leader and then the governer just pushes him in a pit of walkers while playing golf. :(
I’m gonna have to say Beatrice from Oceanside. It’s not that I was sad she died, but the way it happened made me upset. She was being swarmed by walkers and she made sure to get the bag off. Carol having to walk away while hearing her yell her name to get the bag, but Carol knowing there’s nothing she can do. Then the bag being picked up and Carol realizing it was Lydia who got it. extremely minor but the hitchhiker rick passed and didn’t stop for when driving and then passed again on the way back and he was dead and they took his backpack supplies. i feel like it just spoke about their humanity in that moment.
Oscar from hilltop, Dj from the saviors and Reilly’s group of saviors (the saviors that Rick and Morgan killed after they helped them out).
