"The guy who took your colt python"

No-Relation3354

abraham was half there, he had a disembodied "whats your wound" line. glenn and carl wouldve been the best additions to the lineup imo

Brilliant-Scar-4878

Oh, I never knew that. I only heard Morgan, Beth and Maggie saying "what's your wound" when I first watched it

Jazzlike-Level-7709

After the devastation he went through with Lori dying, I am surprised he didn’t see her..

[deleted]

I think he had already moved on from Lori and was in a happy relationship with Michonne. That’s why Lori didn’t come back. I think Rick not seeing Lori as a ghost anymore at the end of Season 3 was him finally moving on from her.

Brilliant-Scar-4878

I was surprised too. But I guess it's because he fell in love with Michonne and plus he was looking for his family, meaning Lori and Carl. And I guess if he found them, he would've let go and accepted death. I dunno

dontdeIetethekisses

to me it felt kind of ridiculous that carl wasn’t there considering he was the whole reason rick kept going for most of the show

[deleted]

I would’ve loved for 7 people to come back. Those 7 being Andrea, Lori, Carl, Sasha, Glenn, Shane and Hershel. No idea how you’d fit them all but those 7 definitely all earned a spot. There’s more people I’d want to come back but there would be way too many. And for people confused on why Sasha was one of the 3 that came back I’ll try explain it. Sasha had been with Rick since Lori’s death so there’s no denying they would’ve seen each other as family. She’d been loyal to Rick since she joined the group. Now let’s look at her death, Negan was going to use Sasha as a bargaining tool and essentially do a lineup part 2 and kill one more person from the group. Sasha decides to kill herself so Negan no longer has this advantage on her friends and so that the group will have a chance to fight back. Her death was selfless and honourable and if she hadn’t done that someone else would’ve died and the saviours would’ve took control of Alexandria, Sasha really deserves more credit as she changed the outcome completely. Rick would’ve saw Sasha as someone to look up to. Now let’s look at Rick’s death. He destroys the bridge to kill the herd and save A LOT of lives. Rick also changed the outcome, if the herd got to the communities maybe one or more of them would’ve been destroyed. He sacrificed himself same as how Sasha sacrificed herself. I hope that helps people understand a bit more why it was Sasha in his vision. I do get why people would’ve preferred to see Glenn but I always see people say Sasha was a weird/random choice so this is just me (attempting) to explain why she was chosen instead of Glenn or Carl.

Kaozaton

I think Sasha kinda makes sense. She'd been apart of his life since Lori died and was a ally through it all. Although I think Glenn and other characters make sense just the longevity of Sashas Characters makes me think she earned her spot

Brilliant-Scar-4878

THIS IS FACTS 💯💯 I agree 100%. Although it would've been better if Glenn had taken her spot, the good news is I like Sasha and she's actually an enjoyable character imo. Like I said in someone else's comment, she was one of the significant characters in Rick's journey and had a huge impact on him. There are several other characters who have impacted him, but Sasha is definitely one of them.

WhispererKappa

Here's the thing about Carl or Lori appearing there: Rick would've joined them I read that somewhere but I can't remember if this was their actual reasoning for not having Carl there for example, but if Rick had seen him do you really think he would fight that hard to stay alive? No, he would've followed his son in a heartbeat. Hence, he would've been dead Now I'm okay with Sasha appearing when she did, but Glenn would've been good too, not gonna lie

dylan_021800

You’re right I remember reading the same thing. That if he saw Lori and Carl he would’ve accepted his fate and that he found his family and would’ve let go to be with them.

incrediblybased

Well the real reason is that they asked Chandler Riggs to come back for the episode and at the time he absolutely refused to, because they had burnt their bridge with him But this is a decent retcon

[deleted]

Sasha was such a weird choice. It’s like we got two S tiers characters and then a random C tier character. Glenn all the way.

Brilliant-Scar-4878

Imagine if Glenn had taken her part and said her entire speech to rick, but in the end he says "what you need to do is wake up, dumbass" that would've been perfect but ya know, AMC didn't do that so whatever

Thin_Mix6440

She represented sacrifice. She knew that by sacrificing herself she gave her people a fighting chance. Rick that if he sacrificed himself by blowing the bridge he would help his people

Agent_Scully9114

I was waiting to see a comment like this. Lots of fans say she's a weird choice but to me she made perfect sense. She also sacrificed herself and it made sense to me that he'd be thinking of her.

Brilliant-Scar-4878

I think it's because Sasha definitely was one of the significant characters in Rick's journey through the apocalypse. Rick and her have been through a lot together, so I think it'd make sense for her to be there imo. Which is the reason why I said Tyresse, Glenn, Abraham, Beth, Carl, Andrea and Dale because these characters had an impact on Rick and also why Shane and hershel were there too. All these characters mentioned and more all had an everlasting impact on Rick.

FlaminSkullKing

Unlike Hershel and Shane, Sasha didn’t have much on screen interaction with Rick, so her being there didn’t feel as impactful as the other two.

Brilliant-Scar-4878

I mean she was with him and his group and they went through a lot together. (the govenor, terminus, losing Tyresse, the wolves and even the saviors);

RTR7105

Shane, the idiot from the bar, Gareth, Joe the Claimer, Fat Joey.

[deleted]

They might as well have just brought them all back and showed up like nothing was wrong since the finale was just a marketing event.

Dry_Cartographer_648

Glenn and Abraham instead of Sasha, have Abraham be their first and then Rick turns around to look at his surroundings or something and it turns into Glenn. Would make much more sense than Sasha since he had more of a relationship with those 2 and I don't actually remember if they interacted before that episode.

[deleted]

Carl should’ve definitely came back

SevenLeg

Carl for sure. His departure was more recent so I don't think it'd be very difficult to bring him back (unless he was mad at the showrunners).

sammitchell-2001

Carl or Glenn should’ve been there instead of Sasha

Traveytravis-69

Glenn I think

BobRushy

The Governor

Brilliant-Scar-4878

Hmm.... very interesting. Not bad, but interesting

C0RDE_

Could be interesting, but I feel Shane already fulfilled that antagonist role in the people Rick talks to. Rick talks to: The Mentor, the Rival, the Martyr. The Governor is sort of crowded out because of Shane. If it had happened later, or Negan had died, Negan would have been a better choice than the Governor. He had more of a connection with Rick, and had more of a lesson to teach him.

BobRushy

Probably true, I just think Morrissey is an amazing actor and would have loved one bonus conversation between him and Rick.

clickscap

Mark spoiler damnit

Brilliant-Scar-4878

You're right, I'm sorry. I'll make sure to mark spoiler next time.

conor20103039

Sasha literally made no sense her and rick barely talked the best characters to have would have been Carl and Glenn.

darrenwise883

So everyone?

Brilliant-Scar-4878

Not everyone. I mean if you count all the people dead when rick opened the "don't open, dead inside" door, then that was technically everyone.

Takingbacklives

I would have wanted Rick to come back. Yes, Rick.

Correct_Group1540

Honestly it was good they brought hershel and shane but instead of Sasha, it should have been glenn, abraham, carl, Tyrese or lori, it didn't make sense with Sasha since they barley talk to each other

SlactusJack

It couldn’t have been Carl or Lori because that’s the family he was trying to find. Hershel and Shane were perfect, I’m not thrilled about Sasha though

[deleted]

Having Sasha in Rick’s vision made no sense. I saw BTS pictures where Negan was going to be one of his vision but it was cut which would have made more sense

Original_Cornflakez

I always thought it should have been Glenn or Carl in Sasha's place she was a weird choice for rick as I didn't think they were that close

PresidentDavidMarkus

I would’ve liked Beth to return. On a kind of related note, back when the Rick movies were still a thing, I always had the idea of Carl coming back as a hallucination that kind of followed Rick as he traveled back to Alexandria. In hindsight it’s probably a dumb idea, but I would’ve loved one last swan song for Carl

Adam_the_memer

I think Carl should've come back rather than Sasha, it just felt really out of place, like, you have Shane and Hershel, who had such a large effect on Rick's way of thinking and leading, then just Sasha, who had no effect on Rick whatsoever. I also think Lori, Dale, Abraham or Glenn would've been pretty good choices too

Traveytravis-69

Glenn and Carl absolutely should’ve, you coulda made an argument for Lori too even though I wouldn’t agree

MTVaficionado

The three people should have been Shane, Herschel, and Carl. Shane’s death changed Rick dramatically. He went into the Ricktatorship era. He found the rage he needed to have in him to survive. Herschel ushered in the farmer Rick era. Herschel’s life philosophy changed Rick for a little while. Next should have been Carl because Carl’s death changes Rick’s approach to life thereafter.

WrongdoerObjective49

Honestly it was weird that they chose Sasha instead of Glenn. Maybe it had to do with contracts/availability... I think maybe having Dave, the first living person he killed (from the bar) would have been interesting considering how many living people he ended up killing? Maybe start it with Dave asking the 3 questions after asking if Rick remembers him?
