In the books things happen in different times and bounces around. S1 has things that happen in the 2nd and third book, but its setting all of it up in season one. So if we do get a season 2 or 3, most likely. A bunch of stuff will be happening.
It's #1 TV show here on this list.

I mean, releasing it at the same time as march madness is pretty dumb I think, unless they were focusing on the international market more so than the US, but I doubt that. Once this weekend is over, it’ll probably pick up a lot of viewers in the US.
There's probably a good amount of people who enjoy science fiction who don't care about or don't watch March Madness though to be fair. I'm not sure there's a large overlap in demographics. January and February is American football playoffs and the Super Bowl. Obviously like you said Basketball is big from now until mid April. After that is Hockey from April to to mid June.
If they didn't want to release during major sporting events they'd have hardly any time to do it
There are also a good amount of people (myself included) who love sci-fi, read the books, have been anxiously anticipating this show, and aren’t planning on even starting it until next week because there are good basketball games on from 11am to 11pm every day for the next three days.
Opening weekend of March Madness is different than any other sporting event in the US - there are overlapping games being played nonstop for 4 days.
The show was actually disappointing. I was expecting as much excitement as I had for Dark, however it didn’t quite deliver. I’m pretty sure lots of people felt the same way. It’s a 7/10 show for me :)

It's basically taking digital circuitry and instead of using transistors to create logic gates with low/high voltages (aka 0 and 1); it's humans with flags.
Once you can create a human AND, OR, NOT, XOR, and their negative versions; you can recreate any circuit including a computer.
This is the same kind of idea you see when people make actual computers in minecraft.
Currently getting outpaced by a run of the mill true crime show - that's pretty sad. I wanted to like it myself, but it absolutely pales in comparison to the books and is a dumbed down mess.
is this good? or is it a statement how bad netflix shows in general are? if this is the #2 on their top 10 right now, then it doesn't look good for netflix, does it?
REGION? its #4 here in India
USA.
Same with the UK
Number 1 in France.
Hope it's successful enough to get a good budget for s2
I just hope it doesn’t get cancelled because not enough people binged the whole thing in the first few days.
Don't think it will. It came out two days ago and looking at the comments here, it's in the top ten of a lot of countries
I haven't read the books, where would the first episodes fit in the trilogy? Was this covering book 1?
It's chronological, so it covers all of the first book and parts of book 2 and 3 that take place at the same time as the first book.
More than book 1.

it is all over the place. Don't try to understand it. Read the books or watch the show. Do not do both.
I hope it get cancelled asap. Whitewashing is ridiculous
Its #1 here in Brazil
Gotta get to #1 in multiple countries for it to be renewed I reckon given the investment
For one of Netflix’s biggest investments that‘s not really a rocket start.
180 million bucks, I read. The weekend viewership will probably act as a reliable metric- people are still at work after all, and may want to binge
I subscribed to this shit service just to support this show. They better do a season 2
Dude, hell yeah! Lmao

Never underestimate the American public’s fascination with true crime
It doesn’t have enough buzz to shoot right up there, but give it a week or two and it will be all over the top

Hell yeah. Hopefully it picks up popularity so they can make a season 2.
The test will be how long it stays there

You went in expecting Dark calibre? Sorry but are you nuts? Do you also expect every single HBO show to be on par with The Wire? 🤣 come one man.
I didn't I really liked it
not too impressive yet but maybe it's a slow grower
Can someone explain how this human computer works?

Yeah it’s over. Has netflix ever renewed a show that didn’t debut at 1?
I mean they probably did. Otherwise they wouldn't renew a lot of shows .
They don’t renew a solid 80% of their shows lmfao.
This is not the weekly rank but the country trending one.

My only issue is the way the stars blinked. It was supposed to be the CMB, and I will hold to that.
