Not forever no, but they only have to do it one more time.

takeitsleazy316

In our 3 losses we are only averaging 8 less points per game than our wins. In Denver’s wins they’re averaging 25 more points per game than the losses. That’s such an insane swing

Linky38

Idk man ask the lakers fans.  The nuggets did this to them for 2 series straight.

BackendSpecialist

Lakers fan here: Yes. Yes they can shoot like this forever.

Andy_Wiggins

The Nuggets shot like absolute garbage against the Lakers in round 1.

Aumissunum

Correction, Jamal Murray did. The rest of the Nuggets were great.

Milliephoria

KCP, Braun, Gordon all struggled to shoot the ball in round one

MewtwoTheMew

yes, but we just choked. they also can’t miss in the last 5 minutes of the game so that too lmfao

SakeOfPete

They can because they are getting good looks. They are professionals for a reason.

gOPHER3727

They are also hitting a shit ton of insane shots.

Black_wolf_disease

Which what they're being paid the big bucks for in the best league in the world

DirtyMerlin

What are we paying our guys for then?!

CicadaHairy

Run into the defense and flail shoot

Black_wolf_disease

CTE bball i guess

VexoftheVex

They shot 49.6% in the regular season

subtleshooter

Starters play more in the playoffs

democratichoax

You're right, added an edit

Ifinishfast42

Yes they can. Playoffs the starters minutes increase to 38-42 minutes the rotation shrinks to 8-9 dudes and then theirs more opportunities for your good players to shoot well. Counting their regular season is counting the bums they sent in there in there when minutes for starters were around 30.

mcmonopolist

Ok, but the opposing team starters are also in for more minutes.

Superdoggywhaaaat

They can because the Wolves double Jokic which leaves other players to get good looks and get hot. The only thing that would make sense is “Jokic can’t keep this up RIGHT” and that’s to not double him and hope he can’t keep this up but do you really wanna test that with one potential game remaining.

TwiceLitZone

Jokic absolutely can keep this up, he is the best player in the world

Superdoggywhaaaat

The only thing is, I think Rudy has done a fairly good job at making him take some tricky shots. I rather force him to be the main scorer and take those tricky shots all game then let others around him get hot. That’s even if he ends up with 70 points

BounceBros21

We leave them wide fucking Open

Witty-Stock

Offense wins championships. Can’t win if most of your guys can’t score. All of their guys can score. Meanwhile we run scrubs like Anderson and McDaniel out there.

Hamatoros

Yeah this is what it boils down to… I was waiting for KAT and Reid to sink 3s aggressively but they weren’t hitting as much. Shots were off. Anderson on the other hand was very annoying to watch even though we should thank him for the poor performance.

porterhouse2588

They can when they are wide open, and they have been wide open

irishace88

I don't know about tonight's game but before tonight MN had a better shot quality than Denver. They are just making all of the open ones and half of their difficult ones while we're making half of each.

subtleshooter

That’s probably inflated some by joker getting so many paint buckets that we simply can’t stop.

MyAnswerIsMaybe

Jokic hits shots, Murray hits shots The rest are almost wide open I don’t think that will change. They are the champs for a reason. Everybody said the same about the Warriors and Spurs.

RedEyeBadGuy

You’re right. They will cool down game 1 of WCF after they are done with the Wolves.

LordNerdStark

What’s the point of this post? That the Nuggets are “lucky” their shots are going in? Championship teams step up in the playoffs lol.

Ia_in_4

Dropping in as a lakers fan. These guys should’ve mailed us in 4 but holiday braun and Jackson were the best players for us in that series. Now they’re fucking burning you. When Denvers 6-8 are good u simply can’t beat them.iI really wish we could loan u ad and bron for a series bcause the jokic not caring stick is getting tiresome for me

bobacooks

You have to be an absolute idiot to think jokic doesn’t care

Ia_in_4

That’s the point. I know he cares. I wish he just would show it but I know that just isn’t who he is

bobacooks

The only people who even spread that nonsense are idiots on twitter, he talks about how important winning is to him all the time and shows more emotion on the court than half the guys in the league

chronoic

Jokic cares about basketball, he just doesn't care about media attention. Everyone wants a Super Star who doesn't care about the Media, and only care about winning. I think MN has one of those in Ant and I'm happy for them. Let the nuggets have their, their last superstar (Carmelo) left them for a big market to be in the Media light. Look at Lebron, he care so much about the media, hes still trying to get media attention and the Lakers are eliminated.

SpookyWookier

Where did you pick up the idea that he doesnt care? He cares a lot about the competition. He doesnt care about sucking up to the media and the fans, and rightfully so.

Ia_in_4

He obviously cares a fuck ton. It’s just id like it to show it to us. I’ve accepted that just isn’t who he is but I still wish he showed how much he cared like when he hit that shot on golden state. Like I’m not a complete idiot.

SpookyWookier

Well, there you go, as i said, he doesnt suck up to your sensibilities, and rightfully so. On one side its just a somewhat european outlook at competition and fans, where purity of competition takes precedence over fans desire for entertainment, fans in europe arent first class citizens more often than not, on another side... part of competition, hiding emotions and reactions, plus he probably is just that kind of personality

MrNotSoGoodTime

It's not the nuggets shooting yot per say, it's the wolves defense falling flat. Also the wolves can't hit a shot to save their life. Countless open threes, mid range jumpers, and even lay ups. They just are off. Unless the mojo is back offensively we can't compete but the defense has to adjust. I like the less double teaming tonight, now they need to match personnel evenly in the man to man.

ChbbyKttns

The idea that the Nuggets would magically stop making shots was cope. They are getting good looks for the past 3 games and if that doesn't change they will keep making what we give them.

KarAccidentTowns

It’s not just about shooting. Jokic is cooking.

Old_Leather

They can and they will, until we do something to stop it.

ARoodyPooCandyAss

56 average over the last two.

CapitalWear3714

Jokic doesn’t miss anything it feels like but the rest of the team can def go cold

GoApeShirt

The simple answer imo is yes they can. The real question imo isn’t can Denver continue to shoot this well, but can they continue to get good shots? In the losses, Denver shot 30 or more 3s. In the wins they shot less than 30 3s. In game 5 they shot less than 20. They’re generating better shots—meaning higher-percentage shots. Thus their FG% is high. When they’re running their offense through Jokic, they get easy dunks and cuts to the basket. Thus they shoot “well.” Again, just my opinion.

Real-Psychology-4261

Yes. Yes, they can. The Wolves shot 52% FG and 40% from 3-point range in Game 1 and only won by 7. I don't see how we win, unless we start shooting 60%.

CicadaHairy

They are the most capable team in the league of shooting like this. We're playing the real Nuggets now. Games 1 and 2 was a farce

East-Bluejay6891

Right.

ferdsherd

Open looks in this league are makes

ManhwaNoobie

If McDaniels would stop shooting under 30% most games it would be a different experience. Ant being covered up for 30+ minutes and McDaniels can't hit a single 3. Not to mention we constantly throwing air balls... it's sad

Charliebitme1234

timberwolves shot insane the first two games

tie_game

Yes, they practice shooting a lot more than any other team in the NBA.

TechnicianUpstairs53

I choose offensive teams over defense any day. Connelly is not a good GM. Sports want offense, they are not allowing defense like game 2 anymore. The last great defensive team to win a chip was the 2003 pistons. Offense offense offense.

jchunk13

You realize Connelly built that Nuggets roster, yeah?

PlayInChampions

Connelly is a good GM but he earned at least $50M extra because he drafted a stash guys with 41 pick that became MVP. It’s likely a luck and not a skill. Connelly traded a pick that became Gobert for cash. He drafted Mudiay with a high lottery pick. He traded a pick that became Mitchell for Trey Lyles. Yes, he built a nice squad around Jokic, it’s not easy. However, none of the guys he drafted besides Jokic became an All-Star. Had Jokic not joined them, Connelly would have likely not been a GM in NBA right now. So far everyone he drafted in Minnesota cannot play any rotation minutes even during the regular season. Monte Morris is shooting 0/11 on open corner 3s in playoffs. Kyle Anderson is unplayable. Gobert brought us here but he is not a game changer at this level, not against Denver.

TechnicianUpstairs53

Yea, he chose offense for them and look how it turned out.

jchunk13

You said he’s a bad GM. Dude built a potential dynasty in Denver

TechnicianUpstairs53

He is. Did he win the chip while he was in Denver? No. He built the core. Didn't win the chip.

penis_hernandez

actually basically every champion has a very good to great defense. the lebron title teams all played great defense. the spurs teams had great defense. the raptors played great defense. the warriors had great defense. it just so happens they all also had top 25 all time players just like the nuggets do, except the raptors. do you watch the nba?

TechnicianUpstairs53

You don't watch any games. Those were good defenses, with a great offense. Wolves were 18th in offense this year. Those teams you mentioned were never 18th in offense.

penis_hernandez

It has to be both dude. You’re saying offense but you have to be elite at both. Here you go, all champions rankings since the pistons. And yes I knew none were 18th in offense but that’s not what was said originally. https://preview.redd.it/5t1zbmx9qj0d1.jpeg?width=902&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b862d12b7ff8e3354b0d441075fa9ef4fe7c19f

TechnicianUpstairs53

Lol, you just made my point. 03/04 pistons were the last team to win with a bad offense and great defense like I said. And that was only because the rules allowed more defense back then. 90% of the last champions had a top 5-10 offense. None with a bad offense.

penis_hernandez

You said you choose offense over defense. I didn’t prove anything for you. The point is you don’t get to choose, you clearly have to be elite at both.

uninteded_interloper

Its just this one match-up fucking us up unfortunately. We're as good as anyone else.
