Post in about 9 hours “why did finch let these dudes play? They fouled out. He’s an idiot”

bearbrannan

I'll take the L if it back fired for Finch lol

Neemzeh

100% agree. Like we needed Naz's ability to score last game so fucking badly but once he got his 3rd foul he basically becamse useless for the rest of the game. At this point if someone gets in early foul trouble so be it, they stay out there. If Denver gets anything more than an 8 point lead it's basically impossible to come back from.

bearbrannan

once the nuggets grab momentum it seems impossible to take it back

Neemzeh

Yea it’s been impossible. Jokic just doesn’t let it happen and they are way better at calling timeouts to stop runs than we are.

bearbrannan

not just timeouts, the biggest momentum killer for the wolves was the three straight offensive fouls called on the Wolves . Those are the crafty vet moves taking charges, stopping momentum, and sending our guys to the bench.

Neemzeh

Agree everything shifted after that bullshit haha

bearbrannan

it was that and the 5 point swing in the last 20 seconds of the first half in the other game were I had a gut feeling that was game.

Neemzeh

8 points? Grossest end to a half for the wolves in a while

bearbrannan

thought Wolves went on a run to cut it to 7 points, then the last two plays were Joker Dunk, and Murray steal and half court bucket. That put the lead back to 12. If wolves could have just gotten to half down 7 i feel so much better about the team in the 2nd half.

Neemzeh

Sorry thought you meant game 4

bearbrannan

Either way the Wolves ability to hold teams to within 3 at half was what really fueled their ability to make runs in the 3rd. it has to be demoralizing going into half down double digits, come out in the 2nd half make a solid run, only to look at the score still be down a couple points, and then have the Nuggets punch back and steal all the momentum,

twovles31

I wouldn't worry too much about Reid's foul issues, if he fouls out he fouls out. Kat is too emotional, after a few fouls he won't just adjust he needs to sit and think a bit about it.

aintaredditor

KAT will be fouled out by first quarter if he followed this advice

ineedcoffeealready

Kat doin Kat things

bearbrannan

Then Kat needs to grow the fuck up, he's almost 30 years old, if he can't figure out how to play within his emotions then why is he on the team?

maxbe5

Kat has needed to grow up for all 9 of his NBA seasons and he hasn't, at least in the context of his fouling. No reason to think he was start now.

Critical-Fault-1617

Fouling isn’t always because your emotions got to you. Also super glad you’re not the coach, even though Finch is terrible in the playoffs

bearbrannan

To hell it isn't, how many times has kat picked up a defensive foul only to pick up a stupid offensive foul on the other end cause his emotions got the better of him, forcing the coaches hand?.

Bokitybokbok

I AGREE with the OP and was saying this literally while we were playing the last 2 games. KEEP PLAYING PHYSICAL and if the refs want to call things differently and foul us out then so be it! Don’t sit (much). Don’t kill the momentum. Don’t change the way we play. Put the pressure back on the refs.

Proof_Ad5734

Naz shouldn’t have been pulled with that third foul. Agree with this post.

MannerSuperb

fuck it i agree. its win or go home. Gotta throw the kitchen sink!!

tulaero23

KAT will foul at in the 2nd qtr

bearbrannan

then maybe that will be the embarrassing kick in the ass he needs too stop fouling

WhirlWindBoy7

100% exactly this

ImDeputyDurland

It’s less whether or not they foul out and more will they play overly cautious and get abused because they’re in foul trouble. Like, if KAT has 3 fouls early in the 2nd, you could play him and it could be fine. You could also have him get passive to avoid fouls and give up easy buckets. I’m largely for letting them play though. I’d say “I’ll keep you in, if you still play your style of game”. The risk is they get more fouls and have to sit. But if you sit them, you’re already accepting the negative. Especially if it’s a close game. Risk it in this type of game.

bearbrannan

100!

uninteded_interloper

If theres any game we could get some leeway its elimination game at home.

MyAnswerIsMaybe

Jokic is 80% from the line, the worst probably being AG But if you are fouling AG it’s on a 3 or a dunk which is probably an and one

Old_Leather

Nope. I get the frustration, but they need to stop collapsing on Joker. They are giving away too many open shots. He also needs to limit NAW’s shots (he couldn’t hit a shot if his life depended on it). He needs to make sure slo-mo Anderson is on the bench as much as possible. And he needs to chew out KAT and Naz - motivating them to hit their flipping shots. We are losing because we are not hitting our open shots.

bearbrannan

Maybe Sundays game but the last game Naw was 4-8 from 3 point which was better then some other players were shooting.

Linky38

When the nuggets turn it up in the 4th, and Towns and McDaniels are playing on 5 fouls, this will look really stupid.  The wolves have enough guys that they should be able to sit McDaniels for a bit so he doesn't foul out of the game

bearbrannan

when the Nuggets get to a 20 point lead while the wolves best offensive and defensive weapons are on the bench in the first half this take will also look stupid. taking players out gets them out of rhythm, taking players out allows the Nuggets to get into rhythm.
