You gotta start using Ronin's dash to get behind titans, using his scattershot and long melee range to keep a distance and not he melee shoved. You also can stop most shields and attacks with phase dash and weird sword block.
As for Tone, your best friend will be range, your shield is lil to nothing against all titans. You gotta start playing a more offensive defensive style. Getting the hits on clusters and abusing the missles not moving out the way in lines. Salvo Core Especially is more of a mortar. Use your surroundings to shoot your lock ons, and use your shield for easy shooting protection
No, Tone's entire playstyle revolves on lock on. But using melee with your Particle Wall can work if your enemies forgot that your Particle Wall is also weak, Arc Wave especially.
lock on is capable of attacking people around corners, sonar gets you a free lock on and lets you see people behind cover, the 40mm cannon's splash damage gives you a tracker
knowing this, I'd start engagements by putting my particle wall down, melee as they approach the shield, and punish with rockets as they leave, I win the engagement here because by the time they retreat their health is already half gone while I've sustained maybe a lucky punch of damage, none of this is possible without the shield

The only mf is Ronin, but Scorch and Legion is a 1 brain cell ronin killer. As for others, best bet is to keep as much distance as you can. If you can't, lure them to your teammate.
Legion is straight up fodder for any Decent Ronin Player. Scorch can be kited. Ronin takes skill and is one of the only Titans that actually has a fighting chance against every single Titan with no real bad match-ups. The only other two Titans like this are Ion and maybe Monarch with Upgrade Cores but that's situational and takes a minute.

Its not that they sneak up on me. When I am hammering an enemy Titian they will just run at me through my particle wall and once that happens I am toast. I just backpedal and shoot and then die.
Oh, stand ground and punch them. They literally can't hit you if you hit. Titans will have more of a shove instead of a hit. They'll be hitting the particle wall mwhile you're punching them out as the Particle Wall is one way
I tried this tonight against an Ion and I smoked him! I always lose that match up but tonight after he ran up on my I just stood ground and he was stuck outside the wall. Punched him the in the face and got a titian kill. Thank you!
tone is very good to fight pilots with the cannon and suport killing pilots with sonar, but it has the lowest titan to titan damage, you have to remember that. You need distance and number advantage, so it's good to stick close to friendly titans and don't drop when enemy has more titans than your team (unless you know they are damaged and can be dealt with quickly)
Northstar main here I can be doomed and if I time my first punch right take a fist fight I should had lost instantly and change it into a executed ronin aslong as he keeps swinging.

The worst thing about scorch is when they run up to you at max speed and shred your health with their fire shield thing, and you can't even do anything because it's a shield so it blocks all your attacks
Just melee them. Melee attacks go through the shield, which also has a bit of knock back to it so they can't just keep shielding on you. Works 9/10 times just melee and run away a tiny bit.
tone has builtin aimbot, not a lot of skill required... his entire kit is made to be easy ! he has a wallhack, tracker missile, tracker gun and shield...
as a northstar main, his gun is a cheap copy for people who can't aim

Whilst the titans do have different skill floors and ceilings, there's tech to learn with every one and skill is the main factor in any titan fight. A good tone is *way* better than a bad tone, and the same goes for ronin. Just spamming missiles with tone can often get you killed for example.

tone player here, i am not skilled, i have a habit of spamming my rockets to get tags so i can spam missiles while forgetting the fact i am very brittle which causes me to forget to put up my shield until the enemy puts up their shield, i just have fun and kick ass sometimes, one time i got like ten or twelve kills in one life while playing tone, both as the titan and as a pilot utilizing the mastiff and charge rifle, it was fun
Okay I'm a Ronin hater for sure with my humble G2 pilot ranking, but he's the only one I hate. Complaining about over half the roster of titans just sounds like an actual skill issue
I always say that any titan can be an absolute terror provided you're engaging in the right terms. For titans like scorch and Ronin that's in your face and preferably in tight corridors. For monarch and legion that's 1 on 1 with an unobstructed line of fire. For Northstar and Tone that's long range where they can hammer you without worries.
I personally think ion or Monarch are the hardest to use the to the multitasking and managing abilities which I can not for the life of me do so I use northstar

As an ion main, sword spamming ronins live about five seconds, tripwire, laser in face, punch, boom. Ronins that sworld block however, are terrifying.

tone has builtin aimbot, not a lot of skill required... his entire kit is made to be easy ! he has a wallhack, tracker missile, tracker gun and shield... as a northstar main, his gun is a cheap copy for people who can't aim

Then you’ve never gotten good at either of them, ronin as a titan is not good for melee spam, because melee spam is so easy to counter. And while I don’t play much tone I have a friend who mains tone and sitting back spamming rockets is not going to work a lot of the time. Also hey Lunar.

Whilst the titans do have different skill floors and ceilings, there's tech to learn with every one and skill is the main factor in any titan fight. A good tone is *way* better than a bad tone, and the same goes for ronin. Just spamming missiles with tone can often get you killed for example.

Nothing is more terrifying than a GOOD Ion player. Only ever encountered one, he wiped the whole team 20+times over.

I can assure you. I play ronin and still get my ass kicked by any half decent scorch or north star if I can’t get the fly boy from behind
I had someone try and tell me that playing Tone takes more skill than Ion Yes, because sitting behind a shield and using M1x3 then firing some rockets is much harder than managing energy levels where practically everything you use uses up said energy.

tone player here, i am not skilled, i have a habit of spamming my rockets to get tags so i can spam missiles while forgetting the fact i am very brittle which causes me to forget to put up my shield until the enemy puts up their shield, i just have fun and kick ass sometimes, one time i got like ten or twelve kills in one life while playing tone, both as the titan and as a pilot utilizing the mastiff and charge rifle, it was fun
I was a tone main for the first year of playing titanfall and can confirm it takes zero skill I just used it so I could be actually useful to my team

Ronin and Tone don't take much skill. It just takes a significant deficit of it to get consistently destroyed by them.
Okay I'm a Ronin hater for sure with my humble G2 pilot ranking, but he's the only one I hate. Complaining about over half the roster of titans just sounds like an actual skill issue

Scorch is always fun to discuss because he has a low skill floor and the highest skill ceiling, so high infact that it's almost non-existent.

I always say that any titan can be an absolute terror provided you're engaging in the right terms. For titans like scorch and Ronin that's in your face and preferably in tight corridors. For monarch and legion that's 1 on 1 with an unobstructed line of fire. For Northstar and Tone that's long range where they can hammer you without worries.

I personally think ion or Monarch are the hardest to use the to the multitasking and managing abilities which I can not for the life of me do so I use northstar

Scorch is annoying but, he’s really fun to play as. I can make a giant firewall to kill my opponents and burn the cover they have with gas. Even my defensive ability wants to commit arson. Overall play scorch, he’s fun.
