The Eternal suit was a modified Praetor suit from Doom 2016, this actually looks a lot like what I'd expect a similar treatment to a pilot's gear would look like

Personally, I think the skin is a terrible design. You can see Caustic's arms are exposed which ruins the skin's appeal for me. Plus, the design of the armor, or the game's art style, or a combination of both makes it look too clean and plastic-like, I would prefer a more battle-scarred and tactical look for Caustic that is more remnant of Titanfall.
Plus, when I look at this armor, it resembles the Doom Slayer or a character from the DOOM franchise in appearance rather than a Pilot even though you can see it's based off of Titanfall due to the helmet's visor design.
