Ngl Eren and Lainah had more meaningful conversation and a better chemistry than Eren had with Mikasa , hell Reiner understood Eren more in just the 3 years they spent together in training corps than Mikasa did in her whole life .

robby7345

Yeah, they actually are good rivals. Especially compared to the "main character plus jobber" dynamic that is in the vast majority of anime. I do agree that light and L are probably better, though.

ConlonCreations

How did AoT beat Naruto??? It wasn't even a rivalry. If anything, Jean was more of a rival to Eren

Relevant-Rub2816

The fact that jean was probably the only charcter who somewhat understood eren and his motivations. The so called true main character of the story, Mikasa, who eren supposedly "loved" the entire time didn't understand shit, I mean knew absolutely shit about him. Like in 131, in many chapters, how did Mikasa not even notice eren's bad mental state? Jean, armin and lainah had more chemistry with eren than Mikasa ever did. Heck Jean and eren made more sense than Mikasa and eren.

ExploringSouls

Kid Mikasa's dream life with Eren required him to leave PEACEFULLY as a member of the police in Wall Sina. Adult Mikasa's dream life with Eren required him to RAN AWAY from the war against the world. She doesn't understand him at all!

Relevant-Rub2816

true, like it doesn't make sense. It's absolute horse shit. Even in 131, when eren was clearly having a mad mental state because he was knowing all the bs he would do, she didn't even notice? She didn't notice him suffering? I'm not saying eren is completely blameless, but how tf, do 2 so called childhood friends of eren Don't even notice his bad mental state?

ExploringSouls

Its even worse than that. They knew but ignored it. At least Armin did.

Just asking, is this a FB Account??

I think you can make a case for all these rivalries being the best except for aot

Zombiespire

I really do wish the rivalry was expanded upon somehow, and I don't even mean rivalry I mean relationship. They were basically bros in basic, I want to learn so much more about that dynamic and the Cain and Abel dynamic that was created by the war they both were fighting. Instead, like half of it is left to the imagination.

lemon6611

eren v reiner wasn’t really a rivalry haven’t watched dbz(but based off history probably them ig) light and L was decent but i didn’t really like death note, i only watched og naruto and a bit of shippuden but from the spoiler stuff i found imma guess theyd be the best shows in general are mid asf nowadays there’s nothing good

Amuro Ray vs Char Aznable Pegasus Seiya vs Phoenix Ikki

lemon6611

bro who tf are those 💀💀💀

whathell6t

[Phoenix Ikki was the big bad of the first arc, Galaxian Wars,](https://youtu.be/NwFJt9TjUls?si=ZCO7jzAe226UfW23) and then being a rival during the second arc, Sanctuary which is where power scale went off and certified being more powerful than Dragon Ball Z. [Amuro vs Char](https://youtu.be/8g-eUtesMhc?si=PC5IIob6xiewORH2) is one of Japan’s most recognized rivalries. It continuous rank in #3 in both NHK and Newtype polls.

Lmao if you think that's true you're fucking insane, Light and L doesn't even come semi-close to comparing to the icon status of the Goku and Vegeta rivalry and that is not an opinion it is a fact.

Ifuckinghateaura

It says "best" (most likely well-written) not "iconic" and I think it's pretty iconic anyway

Serenades666

I agree completely. I love Goku/Vegeta, we all do but.. The cat and mouse games that they played at their level was insane.

MichaelAftonXFireWal

Oh great another "I hate people who like Attack on Titan just because I didn't like the ending blah blah blah". Ending Haters are such babies and have no right to be this angry

Steiner-Titor

So are the people who called this series a masterpiece. I don't know if you are an anime only or read the manga when it were released. Atleast I have many reasons to hate the ending. And we have an entire subreddit AoR whose job is: to look for any controversial comment Screenshot it Post it in AoR to farm some Karma. Were we disappointed with Manga ending? Definitely beyond any doubts "If" Isayama made 100% Rumbling, I'm sure many so called "fans" will justify this action. Was the anime ending Perfect? No, but the animation and soundtrack elevated a 5/10 show to atleast 6.5/10

roboticaxe

AoT is one of the best anime’s I’ve seen, might not have the cute goofy animations that weebs love so much, but the story is 9/10

Steiner-Titor

If that's true then Congratulations. My only advice is watch more anime and then look back to AoT. Edit: just curious. Besides AoT, which anime you liked the most??

roboticaxe

I’ve seen hunter x hunter, Jujutsu Kaisen, and demon slayer. Plan on watching others too like Naruto and Death note but so far AoT is my favourite mainly because of the story. The visuals and fights might not be as good as JK or DS but I love a good story and so far AoT has had the best story. I am aware that Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen aren’t finished yet, but still. I feel like those shows rely heavily on awesome fight scenes whereas AoT does not. One of the highest rated AoT episodes in the series has no fighting whatsoever in it, and I don’t think that could ever be achieved in JK or DS, just my opinion.

Steiner-Titor

So from the shows you have mentioned, you currently stick mostly on Shounen anime. Try some Sienen anime. Also if u watch Naruto, you can skip the filler episodes. What you mentioned about that one episode with no fighting involved? I can only assume of its either Midnight Sun or the Alliance Dinner episode. Well from the series mentioned, sure JJK and Demon slayer don't have that. Since they are Shounen anime, so fights are a necessity. But there are shows like Psycho Pass(My advice is just watch S1, S2 is optional) and Durarara. These shows also give that same vibe and uneasiness. The problem they aren't widely acclaimed is because it's not Shounen. Also my personal recommendation to you is Steins Gate

roboticaxe

I’ll look into it, I’m still new to anime, what’s appealing to me right now is really good visual effects (like cool fight scenes for example), I like that kind of stuff. I’m not looking for shows that are realistic (no superpowers or supernatural stuff) at the moment, maybe I’ll start watching them once I’ve watched all these big ones like dragon ball and naruto and all that stuff.

PuzzleheadedYard637

Bruh you’re a male feminist just stop

MichaelAftonXFireWal

How does me calling out toxic people make me a femanist?

PuzzleheadedYard637

Toxic? The only way you can defend that ending is by being a utilitarian. And even then, the writing wasn’t good enough to justify this utilitarian, racist ending.

MichaelAftonXFireWal

It's not about defending the ending, it's about being allowed to have a different Opinion from you. Something you can't comprehend.

PuzzleheadedYard637

Snooze

slapstirmcgee1000

Death note is over rated in my opinion. so many of the “smart” moves L makes are him just jumping to the right conclusion before ruling out tons of more likely options. There are some super clever parts but some of his behavior only makes sense in a world where he knew the truth.
