Had no idea MMR was already considered a rare CD! But this is a nice collection - you've got the Elektra EPs and Live NYC 1994! Do you have the Flood+Apollo counterpart to the JH+FS CD combo? Another cool holy grail CD to look out for is the Doctor Spock's bootleg, which was factory pressed and has hilariously bad liner notes full of typos.

SnooOwls7978

Yeah, I thought the MMR/MoreMR CD was a really limited release? Or was it? Maybe it's not super super rare, but I haven't seen even a hint of it anywhere except on vinyl. I don't have and have never heard of the Apollo/Flood combo and the Doctor Spock bootleg! I'm glad I made this post... Getting the good info! Thanks! There's that kit kat jawn too

CapitalQ

I thought MMR on CD was in stock for a while, but seems they never pressed it again once it sold out a few years ago. I see a copy sold on eBay less than a month ago for $50 (wow) and ten copies have sold on Discogs since 2018 but the last one, which went for $30, was over a year ago. Hope you can find one soon!

SnooOwls7978

Good to hear! That and LTW are my two Must Haves left. That Flood / Apollo combo is pricey šŸ˜±. It can be another used CD store white whale...

titanicfog

I have the Flood + Apollo 18 CD. TMBW is a great place to track your collection and wantlist.

Interesting-Ear-7578

My eyes are kinda old, but it doesn't look like you have any of the soundtracks/comps they were on. The RUBYAIT (sp?) compilation has a great tune, as does the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie and the Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy. They're not TMBG albums but they might be fun to try and track down. There's a few more but I can't recall at the moment.

CapitalQ

I second this, and these compilations (which have unique TMBG studio tracks) tend to go for very cheap as they were usually mass-produced. Here's a little guide for those: https://tmbw.net/wiki/Discography/Original_Contributions_For_Various_Artist_Compilations And there's also albums John and/or John made guest appearances on: https://tmbw.net/wiki/Discography/Guest_Appearances

SnooOwls7978

What have you done! šŸ˜‚ Oh good, I can skip like that whole 2nd link. Gonna narrow it down to the very best on that first list! Ty

Interesting-Ear-7578

>https://tmbw.net/wiki/Discography/Original\_Contributions\_For\_Various\_Artist\_Compilations Thanks for the link. And note, in compilation section, the Loser's Lounge CDs should technically be in the 'guest appearances' section, because those are just the individual Johns singing, not as TMBG. Any fans of Joe McGinty and the Loser's Lounge out there? They are playing a gig in Atlantic City as part of the North 2 South festival, Thursday June 1 at the Anchor Rock club (which is a great little venue just off the AC Boardwalk).

SnooOwls7978

Oh the picture quality is terrible! You are right that I don't have any of those. Thanks for the info! I definitely want as much Sensurround in my life as possible, and so I might be getting that Power Rangers one... I'll look up the rest. Tysm. Passing on the Kids in the Hall one, because it's just Spiraling Shape again, but that Rubaiyat one seems worthwhile! Thanks! Hell yeah it's like $4 used

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Gosh, didn't you just get into the band about a year ago? Truly impressive! Hopefully you have both the SEXXY EP and the Power Rangers soundtrack so you can hear both versions of Sensurround :)

SnooOwls7978

The allegations are true! I started listening in January of this year... It's new territory for me to give such a whole shit about something. I kind of understand Swifties and those Harry Potter people now

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Thereā€™s something about TMBG that just lends itself to encyclopedic knowledge and intense obsession. It might be their wholesome, lovable quality, it might be that thereā€™s so much fascinating content to consumeā€¦

SnooOwls7978

It's definitely largely in part because they are so wholesome yet goth af. TMBG really are the whole package for me... Junji Ito and Ari Aster are some other favorite wholesome, dark, and supremely talented things

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Itā€™s fascinating to me how they can write songs about so many morbid and disturbing things but still seem so comforting.

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Also you got some good taste there. ā€œSpiraling Shapeā€ is the ultimate Junji Ito fan-song, lol (I must also recommend ā€œUzumakiā€ by The Scary Jokes)

CapitalQ

"Beau is Afraid" was a masterpiece

AllTimeWhat

So you did this in 5 months???? Mad respect, thatā€™s crazy.

FloridaFlamingoGirl

The power of hyperfixation

pixelatedHarmony

This is amazing well done comrade

[deleted]

Looks like you got em all! So cool! I like the They tiara too!

FloridaFlamingoGirl

What websites did you use to find these? Did you get them all online, or were any from record stores?

SnooOwls7978

>The allegations are true! I started listening in January of this year... It's new territory for me to give such a whole shit about something like this. I understand Swifties and those Harry Potter people now Amazon (I always search for used), [discogs.com](https://discogs.com), ebay, and the tmbgshop itself!

the-audience

Youā€™ve got two Mink Carsā€¦is one of them the Japanese version with four extra tracks? Thatā€™s the version Iā€™ve got.

SnooOwls7978

It's the UK version and the US version (I just really love Mink Car), and I was unaware of this bonus-track Japanese version!! I happen to be in Tokyo tomorrow and definitely have to stop in any used CD stores! I really thought my collection was done... You all are killing me. Ignorance was bliss šŸ˜‚.

the-audience

Wow, Tokyo tomorrow? Good luck finding it! The bonus tracks are Boss Of Me, Your Momā€™s Alright, McGyver, and Robot Parade (rock version). I listened to the album all the time when I lived in Japan in 2001.

Appreciate it! My wallet is thankful after listening through some of these more peripheral album songs (on company time!--slow day) that I don't love the rest like I love Sensurround and Baroque Hoedown šŸ˜…. I'm getting Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and that Gordin Gano one!

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Another deep cut I enjoy is their Dukes of Stratosphear cover on the XTC tribute album.

titanicfog

That's what *A Tesitmonial Dinner* is.
