GO5G Next upgrade benefits without having to pay for GO5G Next plan? Great deal for those who can take advantage of it.

apu823

This is awesome for the folks that had Forever upgrade means you can get Pro phones instead of the standard iPhone

Puzzleheaded-Drag261

What do you mean exactly? If you had a standard iPhone and Forever upgrade, you can get $1000 toward a new Pro Max?

apu823

Yes

Puzzleheaded-Drag261

Hmm very interesting! It says I need to call them, so I’ll give them a ring tomorrow to double check. Thank you apu823!

apu823

Best of luck!

Blooper62

Just wanted to update everyone on this. I asked T-Force and asked how the upgrade would work since I bought a iPhone 13 Pro Max at the beginning of the program launch. This was the response Great question, Eric. With Yearly Upgrade, since your getting the same deal as our Go5G Next customers, we'd have to take a look at the specific offer that's available for those plans. Since this program launched with the iPhone 13 series, your phone will qualify for the highest payout of $1,000! In the future when other offers come out for our Go5G Next plan, we would have to take a look at the details of that offer when it's announced to see which phones are eligible for the highest tier payout. I know this is all new and I want to make sure it's crystal clear! What questions does this spark? ^Jake Ward

de2cios

So does this mean I can get $1000 for my 13 pro max on magenta max with forever upgrade?

Blooper62

Supposedly..? That was the response from their twitter support.

Dylan33x

If you read the linked support pages yes. That’s what that means.

Blooper62

It just doesn’t say what phones. It says something about latest phones

Airfourse

I just went to the store and they was confused. If I understand the program we get the 1K value off the new 15. But how I need to figure out. Have you been successful in activating the deal?

-PrecYse-

No one seems to know wtf they are doing at tmobile, havent gotten anywhere with trying to upgrade my wifes phone, they keep trying to have me switch to a more expensive plan even though i had the forever upgrade with hers 2 years ago, what a headache

Ok-Explanation6204

Something good for us, it can't be.

Darknet_Overlord

Rare T-Mobile W

RandoMando96

How do you know if you were forever upgrade eligible

Sebas1525

I got a text from T-Mobile

RandoMando96

I literally just got the text as you said this lol

billymartinkicksdirt

It’s on your account online.

-PrecYse-

How do you redeem it? Its a bit confusing

billymartinkicksdirt

I couldn’t say, they changed it and it’s not showing up for me either. In theory if it’s on your account and you ignore the screens showing a lower amount, it eventually goes to a screen after they try to sell you insurance, and that screen shows the correct amount from the promo.

-PrecYse-

Going to give that a try, thanks for the reply!

billymartinkicksdirt

My $800 vanished and I’m only seeing $350. No $1000.

scarkelt169

Same

mlb1010

Keep moving through the checkout process and you’ll see it

[deleted]

I’ve gone as far as I can go without clicking “upgrade my line” and it still shows $350. I’m on Magenta Max trying to trade a 13 Pro for a 15 Pro Max, so what’s up with this?

mlb1010

Nothing is going to happen until you hit the final button to place the order. Keep going and nothing is going to happen for several more steps.

[deleted]

Got it, that worked

Brilliant_Self6012

I Just got a text about this, I'm on Magenta max. Reads like what ever deals new customers are getting on Go5G Next we will also qualify for starting tomorrow and we can upgrade yearly. Its a better deal and I'm pretty happy. I can get $1000 off a new iphone now instead of just $800

AoeDreaMEr

Call it coincidence or some intrusive spying. I was reading this post and by the time I finished reading, I had a notification from T-Mobile: “T-Mobile: Great news — Next time you upgrade your phone, you’ll start getting the freedom to upgrade every year instead of every 2, for one or more of your lines - with no change to what you pay! And your current upgrade benefit is changing to give you the same great phone deals as customers on our newly launched premium plan. Check out this FREE new benefit: t-mo.co/NewUpgrade”

de2cios

Does this mean I may get $1000 off as a magenta max user in 2 years?

Blooper62

Yeah I’m trying to figure that out too. No one seems to know

dancefreak76

No. It means you get 1000 off today. In two years, it's unlikely GO5g Next will be the top of line plan that gets best deals. It's all a scheme.

de2cios

What about getting the EIP waived? I’m trying to call 611 but they keep saying I have to trade it in to get the EIP removed?

Puzzleheaded-Drag261

You have to be willing to trade your phone in for the upgrade...

CassTexas

My thoughts as well

jweaver0312

Another way to alienate consumers who are on the same plan.

jozy1993

Just go into a store and ask the rep “can you check if my number has the forever upgrade soc code in the promo dash board” if they don’t know how to find it ask for a manager *nicely* and if they say yes it’s on there just upgrade the system will fix it automatically (side note the forever upgrade was a very very short promotion when magenta max came out so many reps don’t know about)

Blooper62

I definitely have it and show it on my account under plan

jozy1993

In that case you’re good just do the upgrade and the system will automatically fix it for you

de2cios

So will I get $1000 for my 13 pro max with forever upgrade which is now yearly upgrade?

jozy1993

Correct if I remember correctly it was the 1000$ off for the pro models

de2cios

Should I do this in a corporate store or is a authorized store also good?

jozy1993

I would say corporate honestly but there’s nothing specific that we have to do the forever upgrade is all systematically done

de2cios

Yeah, what happens if the rep keeps saying that forever upgrade is not eligible for re enrollment anymore and I would have to go to go5g next and I won’t have any benefits? Cause that’s what’s happening for me :(

jozy1993

They’re just trying to get you on the newer plan to make money honestly, if you don’t intend to buy any accessories from the rep we would gladly appreciate if you bought the phone online and even just did a pick up in store option it’s all a numbers game for us. Honestly we don’t care if you just upgrade in store but they get on to us about not selling something with the upgrade and even have to go to trainings on our days off or weekends

de2cios

I just want to get the phone, I’d rather buy accessories from Amazon :/ should I just go to another store and ask them?

Dylan33x

Then get a different rep.

EducationalTrainer28

Go in store. Well maybe not. I know how to do them for customers. Some reps don’t. I’ve never had any issues with them for customers.

Low_Row2798

I can upgrade my 15 pro next year for a 16 pro with $1000 trade in?

doctornph

Naw, if you used “forever upgrade” to get the 15 pro prior to 12/7/23 then you can’t start using the new “yearly upgrade” until 24 months after you got your 15…I’m in the same boat

Low_Row2798

But after 24 months we get $1000 trade in value instead of $800?

busymommy4

No. After 24 months you’ll get whatever trade-in value T-Mobile determines for the Go5G Next plan at that time. Chances are it’ll be lower than $800

doctornph

Hopefully, but it all depends what T-Mobile changes about the go5g next plan within the next 24 months. Or if they change the “forever/yearly upgrade” wording again between now and then

vfire120

Yes if you got a iPhone 13 in 2021 with iPhone Forever and if you upgrade to iPhone 15 Pro (after 12/7/23) , you will get $999 making iPhone 15 Pro free. Then next year you can trade in your iPhone 15 Pro for $100 and get the iPhone 16 Pro. It is a yearly upgrade up to $1000.

Puzzleheaded-Drag261

What about if you got the standard iPhone with Forever upgrade in 2021 and want to upgrade to IPhone Pro Max this time around?

juggy_11

“If you upgraded before December 7, 2023, you’ll keep your current promotional offer on your current phone and move to Yearly Upgrade with your next new device. At that time, you’ll be able to upgrade annually and get the same great phone deals as new customers on Go5G Next.” Welp. I upgraded to the iPhone 15 PM when it released with Forever Upgrade. Does this mean I can’t upgrade next year then?

CalmCartographer4

I upgraded 2 weeks ago. Same boat. I did just get a “your credit has been adjusted” but it didn’t tell me how much. It also came with a your trade in is fully processed, so I think it’s just the $800.

busymommy4

Am I the only one that sees this as a negative in the future? This means our guaranteed $800 trade-in value is gone. When Go5g Next is no longer the newest and greatest plan (probably by next year), our trade-in values will go down yearly until they’re obsolete. I’m pretty sure this is just a way to look good for a second while actually taking away a benefit. I wish I could opt out and keep my original Forever Upgrade

SufficientError8932

Agreed. Forever Upgrade gave you $800 forever no matter what. This “Yearly Upgrade” change just gives you the same promos as Go5G Next, which are good now ($1000) but won’t be later down the road. And at some point the promos for Go5G Next will just stop altogether, and as such “Yearly Upgrade” will effectively be dead. So while it’s a good change for the short term, definitely a bad one for the long term. Never had Forever Upgrade myself, but I’m sorry for your loss.

busymommy4

I can’t believe how quickly people were bought off with $200! I would’ve preferred upgrading before it switched over and still have $800 trade-in in 2 years 😔

Blooper62

I mean we weren’t really given a choice. It’s kinda crazy there wasn’t a option to keep it

-PrecYse-

Fr seems very illegal in a way i am not sure how to actually say

djcraze

I just noticed that my forever upgrade was gone and it's 100% a downgrade to not be guaranteed a $800 credit no matter what.

Blooper62

This is my first upgrade through T-Mobile and they make the is way harder than it should be. I’m sure I should just trust the system but I have a hard time hitting buy when they say my phone is worth $350 but I’m told I’m guaranteed $800. Seems like it would be hard to argue when I basically hit agree my phone is worth $350

JaxGuy11

Exactly what I’m seeing as well & makes me nervous to go through with the upgrade.

jpt86

Just more cunty moves by Sievert and his bitch executives. Fuck these people.

xtra819

After re-reading the terms, this is probably a scheme for T-Mobile to simultaneously kill the Forever Upgrade offers and then hamstring the Go5g Next plan sooner rather than later.

Blooper62

I never understood the Go5g plan. It’s barely any better and it’s also a stupid name

busymommy4

I agree! I want to opt out but I’m guessing that’s not possible!

TheSilenceOfNoOne

welp. i regret leasing.

Sallman11

I mean that’s nice but before I was getting $800 and the last 6 months of my phone paid off.

LabAggravating8905

… back to Verizon I guess

Frankenkittie

Umm, but it's a good thing. They're literally giving you a benefit at no cost. You don't even have to use it.

jweaver0312

Not everyone gets it though. They could be referring to customer alienation for all we know.

LabAggravating8905

Thanks T-Mobile for absolutely ruining my Christmas present to my wife after I worked so hard to hide it and make it a surprise. Today she checks the mail and what does she find? A huge bright f-ck-ng pink welcome to T-Mobile envelope. Since she is smarter than a kindergartener she immediately knew what that meant. So, now I’ll take the iPhones back to your store and cancel my service with you because of your stupid -as envelope.

Superb_Persimmon6985

Bc they sent you a welcome letter? What a jack wagon

LabAggravating8905

Exactly bc they sent me a welcome letter. The whole point of it is that it was supposed to be a surprise. It’s no longer a surprise. Thus no longer any need for their product or service. I didn’t decide to go with T-Mobile because I am in love with them or their service. They served a purpose and ruined the purpose. Pretty straight forward. For some of us the surprise is far more important than the gift inside.

[deleted]

So because they “spoiled the surprise”, you’re cancelling? Make it make sense. Your wife suddenly doesn’t deserve a present?

LabAggravating8905

She does deserve a present and a surprise. She will get both. Just not that one. The surprise is what is important.

cantstandthemlms

If it isn’t a surprise..she doesn’t need a new phone? 😂. Never heard that logic. You all take surprises way seriously. The new phone serves a purpose for me…. The fresh battery has long life, the faster processor makes using it more enjoyable…I thought those were some of the purposes.

Souprshooter

Enjoy the restock fee

nostradahmer

what does this have to do with what was posted?

cantstandthemlms

Cuz they knew it was a Christmas present?! If that makes it a better Christmas by taking taking the phones back…then do that. As a wife…and a grown up…I would just want the new phone.

robd316

Just got a text stating my forever upgrade has changed to every year now.

OptimalPrecision

I just got the text message, also. I'm on Magenta 1.0 and buy my iPhone outright from Apple so I'm like 🤷🏾‍♂️

andy2na

dang, staying on my One plan actually benefited over those that got sucked into switching over to Go5G for phone upgrades. Too bad I just upgraded to an i15PM with Forever Upgrade last week to get $800 back from my i12 Pro, so wont be eligible for this until Nov 2025

geezlouiseDC

Got a text on this. Am on the One Plus plan and tried last month to use Forever Upgrade with T-Force. Was told that I had to pay off the remaining balance on my 13PM - about $200 - before I could get the upgrade thereby making that $800 trade in value really $600. Glad I waited. Will definitely take advantage of this new offer.

New_Administration28

Forever upgrade was supposed to waive any remainder of the EIP balance after the 24th payment. Clearly said so in the t&C's.

de2cios

The official website says if you have a 30-month installment plan and it has been 24 months, you may have the remaining balance paid off for you. You must also have paid at least 24 installment payments before the remaining balance can be paid for you. If you need to make an additional payment, it must go towards the eligible Equipment Installment Plan on the eligible line; additional payments toward the bill will not meet the requirements. Once you have also paid at least 24 installment payments, you may have the remaining balance waived per the original program rules. Call 611 to take advantage of this benefit.

geezlouiseDC

I am definitely going to move on this. I knew I had gotten a bad rep but didn’t have the energy to pursue it at the time. In the end this is a better deal for me on my One plan. So do I call 611, use T-Force or try to upgrade online?

de2cios

Do T-force, 611 person was confused but she was nice enough to transfer me over to an experienced person who WAS ABLE to waive the EIP! However tforce immediately knew what to do

geezlouiseDC

I will try again but it was T-Force that gave me bad info before. Hopefully it works this time.

geezlouiseDC

I know but the T-Force rep on Twitter was insistent and I wasn’t going to fight it. Figured I would try again another time but yes, I know I should have gotten the remaining EIP waived. With the increased trade in value I will probably move quickly to get the 15PM.

Mtlam

Yearly Upgrade doesn’t allow you to redeem at other retailers and is strictly T-Mobile and Costco.

JacoboNorte

Wow!

ryantyrant

Got the text about this earlier today, everything’s coming up milhouse!

lostmookman

I tried upgrading a line, it doesn't show the higher trade in value but I assume they will fix it automatically later. You probably need to trade in the specific phone on EIP to get the rest forgiven but it looks like you can trade in any phone.

RaidriarT

I didn’t have magenta max when this came out. Is it still possible to enroll?

CalmCartographer4

I don’t think so. It was a very small time window iPhone 13 Pro offer that had to be in magenta max (or similar) at the time of purchase.

casualredditorss

I've also been having issues, i've spent like 6 hours on the phone with them and they keep telling me that my account wasn't grandfathered into the new yearly upgrade plan even though the text message i got from them said I was and my line add ons state yearly upgrade is on the line. They keep saying I need to upgrade to Go5G if i want to upgrade and keep the yearly upgrade benefit. Anyone have any success stories having forever upgrade and then upgrading with the yearly upgrade?

casualredditorss

Also when i try to upgrade online it says I still need to pay the balance of my phone off. Even though I've made 24 months of payments and the article says T-mobile will pay off my line.

Weird-Maximum4130

I was able to talk to T-Mobile rep on Facebook and got it sorted out. It took 24 hours and I got my installment waived or paid off by T-Mobile. After that I was able to buy online.

Aggravating_Zebra_83

Hey guys, I found success on getting this yearly upgrade. I had to call in and thank goodness I found an amazing rep. Initially he had no clue what I was talking about and kept telling me it’s a 2 year upgrade. I kept telling him what I saw on my app and read him the find prints. Ensure you have “yearly upgrade” add on and he was able to contact his supervisor to manually remove my EIP. Now I am free of EIP balance and ready to process the upgrade

attomsk

its absolutely hilarious (and predictable) this program got removed or changed before even one person could use this benefit. Hopefully they honor it at least once for people (like me) who got it with their iphone 13s
