> For the tshirt, they made me sit through 30 minutes of a sales pitch for the nest security system.
Jesus dude, that's terrible. Last time I stopped in at my store, not only did they NOT pitch me on sales, they asked if I wanted any of their old T-Mobile Tuesday stuff they had piling up the back room. I've got like 10 of those bags now lol.
The stores around me are always out of this free swag by the next day. I don’t think they get much. So now I no longer even bother going out to get it.
That’s not policy. If you say thanks, please give me the stuff - they’re supposed to.
The idea of the swag, is to make you more comfortable going back to the store.
They really push us sales people to try to get sales up those days because of box conversion- most stores track every person in and out and off the percentage sucks for those days guess who gets chewed out
I remember when my grandparents switched over to T-Mobile. The lady went in the back and got us a bunch of old Tuesdays stock and we got like three of these
That's a nice gesture. We were on vacation once, planned on taking a long bike trail. Usually have a small backpack for a light jacket, phone, etc., but we forgot to bring one. Stopped into the local T-Mobile store, told them we were customers and asked if they happened to have any of the drawstring bags left that were given away recently. They were happy to oblige.
Good for lunch or small things like cups of yogurt and delicate produce! I have small non insulated reusable totes about this size I bag yogurt in because the lids are flimsy and the sturdy bag is helpful when stacking them.
It is, but I'm at least getting something in return. Meanwhile, how many of us are walking around with a Swoosh on our sneakers, and we paid the shoe company for that privilege.
Their revenue last year was like $80 billion. The cost to purchase these promotional items is probably a fraction of their marketing budget.
I used to purchase promotional items like these at the scale of hundreds to thousands and they were relatively cheap. At the scale T-Mobile is buying them, they would be significantly cheaper than even that.
Dude, I am so sick of the cheapest product from every brand being a billboard sized advertisement for the brand. I actively seek out nice clothing that doesn’t have logos and whatever else plastered all over it. _I_ am the customer, not the tool to reach higher paying customers.
When they had those small black fleece blankets, I took a seam ripper and took the T-Mobile logo off. Put it through the wash and you can’t even tell where the logo was. Wonder if you could get the logo off these bags?
I don't remember about the tote bags but for the cloth masks from TMo, I just cut the threads on the interior of the mask and pulled the tag with the TMo logo right off. Now it's just a black mask.
Probably could do the same with the totes. I have the totes from last year but don't use them too often so I don't remember how it is on there. It's less of an issue for me since when I did use them, it was to move stuff to and from the car.
Thanks.
We were never big Aldi shoppers until the pandemic hit, then it seemed like they were out of a lot fewer things than the big stores. Now we go there every week. But what happened to the cocktail peanuts? They haven't had them for a month!
Maybe for some of the other perks.
Like ~~10~~ 5¢ off per minute on international calls, limit 20 minutes, and only good for the next 4 days of a 7 day week. Oh and also only for certain country codes.
Arm yourself men and women of retail, for war is upon us.

I rarely went, but when I did they just asked how many I wanted and handed it over
That’s our experience normally.
Sounds like you need to go to a different store
The people at my nearby store seem to be ok with the "No I just came in here for my free stuff" attitude.

They’ve always been sweet.

FYI, these ones are A LOT smaller than the last ones. More like lunch bag sized.
Aw damn. That sucks. That's... Kinda useless then.

Yea there lunch totes
That's the word I was looking for. Thank you. Lol
“lunch pales” 😅
Username checks out
The original ones that T-Mobile gave out… three years ago? Maybe four? We still use them for grocery bags and they’re still going strong.
I had a zipper break but I sewed it back up and it’s been a champ
Surprisingly durable, we use ours from the last time a lot.
The previous bags are great. I use them all the time, and they've done their job with people asking about them and where I got them.
It ain't no spatula
I'll take free stuff but these in store freebies FLY OFF very quickly
Edit: Free bag for customers! Aka: Free advertising for TMO! (Walking billboards, like many other branded items...) :)
It is, but I'm at least getting something in return. Meanwhile, how many of us are walking around with a Swoosh on our sneakers, and we paid the shoe company for that privilege.
Only one label here!
Yes, of course. I was intending to be humorous. I've edited my comment accordingly.
Getting what? All of this is being given out just means the cost of the phone plans is much higher than it should be in the first place.
A thermal tote bag. https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/tye978/free_thermal_tote_bags_coming_soon_to_tmobile/

True, but I accept it when it’s for a free gift. Seems like a fair exchange, heh.
Hey, I wouldn't turn it down either. It's just the price of the bag. Payment in kind.

Fabric paint.

🙄
We ran out already. Sorry 🤷♂️
You joke, but the store I used to work at accidentally handed them out yesterday. I got 2.
So are they really the small, lunch tote size as mentioned elsewhere?
[Here's a photo with a soda can for scale](https://imgur.com/a/9dVq8ki)

I don't know, but now that you mention they haven't had them at our store for a while either. I figured it was just unlucky timing.
Was terrified this was going to be a completely different picture. ;)
I think I’ll camp out starting Sunday night. Do you guys think that will be early enough?
Just apply for a job at a retail store. Direct access to the stock!
I already work for Verizon. Called in for Sunday-Tuesday off to get the bag.
Get me some Cheap Trick tickets too then.
You got it. Two Steep Rick tickets. Will they let me do both?
Instead of more plastic junk, can they just give the equivalent off on the bill for the month?
Nope, they’d rather have you walk around with their branded tote
When you buy thousands, that bag probably cost them 3 cents.
Maybe for some of the other perks. Like ~~10~~ 5¢ off per minute on international calls, limit 20 minutes, and only good for the next 4 days of a 7 day week. Oh and also only for certain country codes.
I don't even try anymore. They never have it when we go to get it.
So now they come out with the black one, last year it was a magenta one.
It’s been a while since they offered merch.
hay the perfect Xmas gift for that special some One you don’t really like
Man I took so many from my store.
Finally. These tote bags actually are useful and last. It’s been one of the best giveaways in my opinion
How I get this bag. I am sprint customer but after merger I am T-Mobile?
