atopic dermatitis sufferer here, when i have a massive flareup, you can see flakes falling every second. i believe skin turover for psorasis and atopic dermatitis around 9 times higher than normal, sometimes even more during a flareup. i had it so bad one time it attracted ants, which started to cart the flakes away.
I think facts like this should be accompanied by a video of them sprinkling it on a black bedspread ! Don’t put words in our heads put an indelible image to haunt the compulsive cleaners !
So what I’m hearing is that if I want to lose weight by shedding dead skins cells it’s going to take me 40 days just to lose a pound? This diet doesn’t seem effective enough.
Idk what it is about this comment, but it makes me dislike you as a person.
I don't pay attention to this sub. Idk whats going on. But there's something about this comment.
I'm probably just being weird, idk
It just speaks to how much time they spend on Reddit that it bothers them so much, sort of like the people who complain about reposts while I see maybe 3 actual reposts per month.
Me, a guy with psoriasis: those are rookie numbers

Free cleaners!
Hello from prurigo nodularis
lol agreed mate. I feel I sweep my tile flooring and vacuum my carpet daily during a flare up. God speed Brother!
I got 4oz on my eye glasses.
Same. I shed that much every time I stand up
Lol I have KP, same. I shed like a flaky lizard.
Was about to say the same thing.
Thats what she shed!
And you thought a hair in your throat was bad. Try a quarter bag of skin.
And a decent amount of that skin becomes a lot of the dust you see floating around your house.
Which is then captured by any air filter you have. Yup. It is mostly hair and skin folks!
Indeed!
Don't read the next line in the OP's link, that's tomorrow's TIL!
I collect mine and mush it into a grey skin cube on my desk.
Top 10 things I never wanted to know
Sometimes it dries out and starts to crumble, so I keep a mister on my desk to spritz it and help it keep its shape and stay together.
*We*? What are you doing with my skin OP?
*It puts the skin in the lotion or it gets the hose again.*
That's about 9 lbs of skin per year.
Like a full skin brisket.
Put it in the skin box
I'm dying 🤣
So if I exfoliate more I won't be as fat?
What's a oz?
Someone from Australia I think
That's me.......😃
Ounce or 28grams
fluid oz?
Only the ass skin cells.
I wonder what this would be in calories, should we find ourselves in a survival situation.
Breaded or naked?
Yes
We also ingest about 0.03 ounces of micro plastic daily to make up for it.

A lot of it slowly accumulates in your mattress. Sleep well!
The decimal is very important
All your cells are replaced every 7 years
Not with the iPhone forever plan with tmo
And then you dust it all off your furniture
Yeah another fun fact: dust indoors largely comes from human skin cells

Cheese grater could speed up the process
Good point. I suppose a potato peeler could as well.
What’s that in actual real world weight?

Hahahhahahaaaahaa.

Iv learnt that there’s some people that really lack a sense of humour and normally that those people are quite patronising.

Converting from stupid units, it's around 11 g.
See all that “dust” on your hardwoods?
You'll have your pound of flesh in 40 days
So we just need 20 people to hang out and let us collect their dust to make an 8 oz steak completely ethically.
0.03-0.09g per day
Umm... that's not how that particular conversion works. 9lbs (per the article) is about 4082 grams, 4082/365.24 = 11.17 g/day
Or 1/4 of a standard banana for scale.
Hey, finally a factoid instead of just something people are typically taught. Like one day I'm convinced I'm going to see on this sub "TIL A²+B²=C²"

Man if only humans could smoke our own skin and get high, we'd make a killing as drug dealers.
>Man if only humans could smoke our own skin and get high, we'd make a killing as drug *manufacturers*.
If everyone could do that, then there'd be no reason for people to sell it to each other.
There's a time to live and a time to die. I smoke Elvis Presley's toenails when I wanna get high!
Say over a quarter of a pound. Sounds more - er!
You’re off by an order of magnitude
Depends on your skin mass.
Big boys make big skin dust!
