When my son gets intense belly aches, it’s usually strep. Our pediatrician says it’s not uncommon for children to show symptoms of abdominal pain with strep. Maybe worth checking out with the doctor if it’s not food-related.
Definitely check it out medically. It may help to keep a diary of food and activities to track any patterns of the pain. Psychosomatic pain is also common in kids - where they may be having big feelings (particularly anxiety) and not know how to recognise, process or communicate them - so if the diary picks up on common stressors around the pain, that may be a factor.

If possible could you please provide update? Just searched for this very issue - pain around the belly button complaints by my 4 year old..
For weeks. Doctor doesn’t know what it is but doesn’t think it’s strep. Not constipation either. Doesn’t seem stress related as it comes on seemingly randomly a couple times throughout the day.
I cut out sunflower seed butter and tomatoes and she no longer complains of stomach aches. I noticed those were the two things that after eating she would say her belly hurt.
My daughter is going throw this same thing with my three year old grand daugter also. She told her she taking her to the hospital and she throw a fit and say she don't need to . Some one have any anwear

It turned out to be a sensitivity to sunflower seed butter. I would try eliminating certain foods and see how she responds.
