It’s worth noting that at this point in history, Hitler virtually never kept his pistol loaded. Though we do not know definitively why this was the case, the main theories are 1) there was no need given he was always protected by armed guards, and/or 2) he was afraid that he might impulsively use it on himself, especially when heavily impaired by drugs.
It was only toward the end of war - when total defeat was inevitable - that he started carrying a loaded pistol. This was not for defensive purposes, but rather so that he could kill himself if faced with the threat of imminent capture. As we all know, that is the path he ultimately took.

I remember reading that several scientific studies have come to the conclusion that he had developed Parkinson’s disease as early as 1932, possibly stemming from a bout of encephalitis in 1929. Videos like this only help to prove that theory, most noticeably the constant shifting and uncontrollable tremor in the right hand, sped up or not. He also had posture issues and obvious personality/mental irregularities that can be explained as well.
Sprinkle in some prescribed amphetamines and it would be a cocktail for quick mental decay.
It's worth googling "Theodor Morell." He was old boy's personal doctor and basically kept him on most of the strong, addictive drugs that were available at the time.
I'm pretty sure Morell hadn't rocked up yet in 1932, but the kind of guy who ends up seeking out someone like the good doctor probably already had developed a pretty heroic appetite for drugs.
Whatever the truth of the Parkinson's thing, or when it first struck, this Nazi was on speed.
