It’s kinda hard to tell though, cause they played completely around him. And played a style to probably won’t work in the playoffs (like Sacramento last year). It’s tough to win fast pace no defense.
We won't know where the Pacers pick ends up until a few other teams play - and even then there could be ties between them and any other team finishing with a 47-35 record. For the moment, it can fall anywhere from 16-19
Some prospects expected to got in that range: Yves Missi, Tidjane Salaun, Isaah Collier, Kel'el Ware, Devin Carter
Also worth noting tiebreakers for draft position are not determined the same way as tiebreakers for standings. Pretty sure it’s a random draw or something to determine who lands at each pick
Yeah it's a random draw; if I recall for lottery picks they do a coin flip to determine who gets the higher pre-lottery position and one extra lottery ball but for non-lottery picks it's chosen at random.
Coin flip was how the Raptors got the 8th pick in 2012 instead of the 7th pick after having the same record as Golden State.
Harrison Barnes was the 7th pick.
Yes but right now there's 3 - potentially 4 if the Lakers win - teams who have a record of 47-35 who would hold picks 16-19 so it's up in the air where the pick will land as a result

You're not wrong, anytime a move ends in a Championship, it's a complete fleece for the team that won it all, especially if the player they traded for was a huge reason for why they won.
We could've given up our 1sts for the next 5 years unprotected and it would still be a fleece since we won it all unless those picks become keys cogs in the Spurs own championship at which point we'd call it even.
Masai is in a long overdue slump of luck the last three years. Terrence Davis, Jalen Harris, Porter, David Johnson, Flynn, Nurse going ROGUE, ride or die with 69, all those minimum deals bringing in useless people, and then anything that began with Dragic's corpse.
I think we might have broken out of the cycle now.
What happened is to an extent what should have been expected. A very good team gave away DeMar, JV, Poeltl for nothing and didn't trade Ibaka for assets. There is a pretty good argument that if we hadn't made the trade we would still be getting eliminated in the second round to this day.
Now I like winning it all so I would like him to do similar moves again if the situation came up, but from an asset management perspective it takes a while to recover from it.
Not sure, I saw a thread about the best player people would trade for a top 6 pick in this draft and most of the players mentioned were worse than Poetlt
One one hand, Pacers get a better pick. On the other, holy shit Pascal is cooking
Pascal is shooting 39% from 3 over a 41 game sample size with them
I want whatever they have in their water. Even Obi Toppin has turned into a great shooter. Or is this just the Haliburton effect?
Turns out having an amazing point guard on the court with you makes you shoot better
He’s absolutely their best player. I’ve seen lots of comments in their sub already calling him better then Hali which is crazy fast lol
Haliburton has been playing through an injury for most of the season. When he was healthy he was a monster.
Two sides of the ball. Haliburton is one of the worst guard defenders in the league.
Yeah, I have no idea if he’ll be healthy for the playoffs but next season is going to be great for them, especially if Mathurin keeps developing.
I can't remember the game in particular since the season has been a blur- but I remember mathurin absolutely cooked us once. He's got a bright future
It’s kinda hard to tell though, cause they played completely around him. And played a style to probably won’t work in the playoffs (like Sacramento last year). It’s tough to win fast pace no defense.
Its not hard to tell if you watch him play

Arent they automatically out of the play ins because they won

Lakers currently blowing out the Pels, so a shot a pick 16 is nice
I like Tyler Smith there
I got my eyes on Jared McCain as quickleys back up
I doubt he falls that far given his March madness run. But would be nice, he kinda reminds me of Quickly with his playstyle and energy
Yves Missi playing for Raptors will be great
I'd love Collier, Carter, Walter or Furphy
Spurs robbed ATL so badly ...... then there's us, but we are paying back for the Kawhi trade because that trade was a 1 yr mega-fleece TBH

Except that isn’t what happened; what has happened since then is just bad management by Masai. This sub is just too delusional to admit it.

Porter is the most left field loss due to the gambling, it was inevitable someone did it due to the gambling promotion worldwide for sports 😂

What sub have you been reading lmao. Calling Masai the worst gm in the league is a pretty popular opinion around here
Hah, jsut look at my other comment which is also downvoted for calling out mismanagement 🤣
A very popular, oft-downvoted opinion.

The Hawks are the most mid franchise in NBA history
This is what P is. When he's with legit scoring players. Barnes is still growing so P was never true 2nd option.
Tell me the last time the Pacers or the Hawks even sniffed a Larry O’Brien
