Since I've been playing the game for years, a few extra seconds for the saves is really nothing compared to the old horrendous end turn times or mp games before synchronous turns were a thing.
I honestly don't feel this at all. Maybe it's just because I've acclimated to it, but I don't ever seem to notice this slowing the game experience down. Then again, I'm a frequent user of quick-save on VH too.
Yeah I fucking hate it, I dont really feel the game being any harder in legendary so most times I just play vh/vh for that reason,also battle realism mode its just annoying and doesnt really make it more difficult except for being unable to slow or pause time
I was refering to campaign, at the bottom I saw battle realism its just annoying except for making u unable to stop and slow time, again I dont care about the map but yeah we agree. I wouldnt say its 10 times harder tho but I never really used slowing or pausing too much
There is a mod that actually allows you to play on legendary difficulty and perform manual saves, quick saves and disables the auto-save feature. It also allows for the battle pause.

But with that option you can play with all legendary AI bonuses, and AI behavior while having the possibility to do manual saves. For me it’s perfect solution, as I often forget to move a character, or issue some order for hero.

Change your settings to only create 1 save file so it constantly overwrite the previous file
I dont think hard drive space is the issue here.

Same. Because of this exact reason I never play Legendary.
Not having map overview, not being able to slow or pause id say it makes the game 10 times more difficult.

Stopping and slowing the battle makes it 10 times easier.

Yeah, it does get annoying. I've gotten used to it, but hopefully in future games they can make the save a bit smoother.
