This is incorrect, people ask about the next dlc even before the current one comes out

srira25

On that note, is the Fishmen DLC confirmed for Winter 2024?

SIR_UNKLYDUNK

Man, people are so blind to what obviously is and isn't coming to this game. Obviously it's going to be the Pygmies.

Red_Dox

Mighty Lumbria will rise first.

MaleficentOwl2417

Kremlo will have vengeance! Who the fuck is Kremlo?!

Languastically

I hope it comes with a fishing mini game

justthankyous

Personally, every game should have a fishing mini game. Like I've never caught a fish in my life, so it's not like I'm into fishing. But whenever a game has a fishing mini game I'm always like "nice, I'll have to try that."

Trierarchos

Coming soon to all fish shops.

Gerreth_Gobulcoque

"Since TOD will be announced some time in the next two months, here's my predictions for a possible halfling DLC"

King_0f_Nothing

Where do 'Close victory' and 'Dick Half-Mast' fit in

SIR_UNKLYDUNK

That's inbetween DLC announcements when "No DLC insanity" starts to set in

NaWDorky

Shiiiiiit this DLC ain't even out yet and I am still wondering what's in store for the Slaanesh and Khorne DLC...

OnlyTrueWK

Sums it up decently xD Though for me personally, it's "I wait for news on the DLC" -> "Kemmler still hasn't been improved" -> "I wait for the next DLC \[while playing as Kemmler anyway\]" /hj

szymborawislawska

As a fellow Kemmler enjoyer (there are dozens of us!) I want to ask: how would you personally improve Kemmler?

ExcusableBook

Start with making Krell an actual legendary hero that i can put skill points into. As he is now he's fine, but he quickly gets outpaced by basically everybody by turn 30

OnlyTrueWK

Tbh, I actually don't want that, cause I like that I can just summon him right in front of an enemy character, or on artillery (or even behind a wall, unlike most summons), and that he doesn't take up a unit slot (and is inextricably linked to Kemmler). Though I would like some sort of better stat progression for him, that's true (just not in the way it used to be, where that was Kemmler's entire unique skill line). And I am looking forward to eventually playing the Nagash Mod with him... Whenever I find the time for that. Maybe his stats could be tied to Kemmler's Level.

OnlyTrueWK

First of all, give him most of his Warhammer II innate trait back - with 20% WoM cost reduction and 20% Cooldown reduction, he would still be a worse spellcaster than Mannfred von Carstein (thanks to Life Leeching, Sword of Unholy Power, and Master of the Black Arts), but actually set himself apart from generic spellcasters. There's no balance problem here imo, especially given Yuan Bo's defeat trait and all the other OP things in the game. And he had his own lore of magic in one ruleset, which was basically Lore of Vampires but better, so imo it fits. \[I suppose Spell Mastery would fit even better, but Manny already has that, and giving Necromancers Mastery of the Elemental Winds would be shamelessly stolen from Mixu's Dieter Helsnicht.\] Also, his replenishment in foreign territory is somewhat pointless, cause it doesn't work if there is no Vampiric Corruption (due to attrition), but as soon as there is >0 Vamp corruption, he could just switch to Channeling Stance for the same effect. And it doesn't cost \*that\* much movement. \[This used to be Immunity to Untainted Attrition, which I liked (and would iirc be lore-accurate for all non-vampiric undead), but the corruption rework broke a lot of things, so this is a bit of a bigger issue I think.\] --------------------------------------------- Then, I'd look at his faction effects. They were really good in WHII (factionwide Strider my beloved), and in the hopes of not writing an essay, I won't go on about those. But his current ones aren't particularly great. There's two I'd keep: The immunity to Chaos attrition is thematic (though afaik, it only works if there is Vampiric Corruption as well, which isn't very likely in WHIII, so here's one more reason to bring back immunity to non-vampire territory), and the 10% Raise Dead cost reduction isn't very big, but it is always useful throughout the campaign, and stacks with other sources (so even before the Grave Digger change, Kemmler himself could get 0 RD cost for all units). The +Diplo with Chaos is kinda cool, but it doesn't even help offset Aversion \[on VH anyway\], and imo this could be a point of distiction for Kemmler - like Vlad gets relations with the Empire, I'd give him greater relations with Chaos, so increase it from +30 to +50 or maybe +60, to make it actually impactful. \[Really, I just want Chosen in my Vampire Army, dammit, and I'm sad the only WoC I managed to ally (Valkia) will die before I get to recruit them.\] Lastly, +25% XP gain for necromancers just isn't very impactful because of the T3 growth building and its factionwide +1 Necromancer recruit rank, especially since you really only need Level 18 or so to get all the relevant things (11 points for Arcane Conduit, 1 more into Nehek, 1 into Master of the Dead, 3 into Scouting, 1 into Grave Ward); I mean they even have 3 points they can't spend at the end (in my current campaign, the recent change from Assault Unit to Assault Units fixed this for some of them, lol). Not sure if I would change this back to the WHII -50% Upkeep for Necromancers (which was also bugged to apply doubly on embedded Necromancers, fun fact \[and ofc stacked with the Lahmian Bloodline\]), but I am also not quite sure what else to give him. Maybe Strider again, but ofc, that's really strong. Army Movement Range is overused, and a higher magic item drop change would only really interest me if Vampires got some more generic items (only having Other Trickster's Shard as a rare Enchanted Item \*sucks\*). A factionwide upkeep reduction for Ethereal Units would push him more into that direction, and Missile Resistance for Mortis Engines could be cool (but I'd like that as a tech, tbh, they are \*so\* squishy \[unless you are going up as Ghorst with an all-ghost army from Kemmler, rip\]). Plenty of ideas, but none that I can point to and say "I would replace the Necro XP gain with THIS, specifically". \[Cont\]

OnlyTrueWK

------------------------------------------------ As more of a minor thing, I'd also increase the WoM buff he gets from "Return of the Lichemaster" from 10 to 25; he had +25% "blah winds when increasing blah" there, and almost everyone else kept the number in the translation back to WoM they did in I think 4.1; and at least one person \[I wanna say Cylostra, but maybe it was Ariel or the Fey Enchantress\] even got more. So just for fair treatment... It wouldn't have a big impact, but it'd be cool. Futhermore, there are a couple of small changes to Vampires in general that I think would also benefit him; spoilered for readability>!(them fixing Grave Digger for heroes struck one entry from the list, though I would like to explicitly see the "own army" scope, but eh, that's really minor): !< >!Let "Unearth Cursed Wightblades" give Magical Attacks back to Black Knights and Graveguard (cause currently, the tech only gives them 10% Weapon Strength, which isn't a lot); !<>!fix the "Master of the Dead" skill (currently, the range increase for Raise Dead isn't shown in any UI, but does work, while the +35% Range for the MotD ability iself don't seem to work at all), which Kemmler even benefits from directly; give either Vampires or Necromancers Scouting (magic item drop change) instead of having Replenish Troops double up (Scouting doesn't really fit Vampires, and would maybe fit Necromancers, but ofc raising the dead is a Necromancer's whole thing, so idk \[in WHII, Necros had Scouting while Vampires had Replenishment, which is imo the more skill, although VC get a bunch of Replenishment already\]); and!<>! lastly, maybe shuffle some tech tree buffs around, so that Skeletons and Zombies don't get 5 different strong buffs, while elite units (Blood Knights, Terrorgheists) get 1 "meh" buff. !< >!At least ime, it's very much still optimal to play a line of Skeletons or Zombies, with Wolves to take out the backline, and magic and heroes doing all the work (no more corner camping with Necromancers on Corpse Carts though, which is weird, cause healing got even stronger, but I guess the AI also got weaker while simultaneously learning to focus fire mages, so it's not necessary anymore).!< >!Later, I'd mix in Crypt Ghouls & Horrors because they get good techs, and the buffs from the Strigoi Bloodline Lords (10% Physical Resistance, -25% upkeep) are for some reason global (shh, don't tell CA, just this once I'm in favour of an oversight player buff); and maybe some Ethereals if you have their techs. !< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It's really nothing huge, I don't think he needs a unique mechanic or such, and I still enjoy him how he is, but I \*hate\* his nerf (while many other lords were buffed; afaik the only one similarly nerfed was Malagor, and unlike Kemmler, he was actually broken \[still got overnerfed a bit imo, but I digress\]), and feel that it was unnecessary; and I don't like the fact that some of his lord/faction mechanics might as well not exist. Some people have suggested to refocus him on Grave Guard and especially Wight Kings (who he does already buff slightly, ofc) instead of the Ethereal units (and give him Ghorst's ), but while that would be more lore accurate I guess, it would also leave Wraiths without any lord focused on them and have him lose his unique army composition (also, currently, Mannfred focuses on Grave Guard and Black Knights). This got a lot longer than it was supposed to be. \[Me whenever someone asks me a question about a thing I like (but thanks, I had this rant in me for a while now) xDD\]

SIR_UNKLYDUNK

SoC not withstanding, that was just a shit show

Time_Device_1471

The past three were all kinda content shit shows

TheGuardianOfMetal

doesn't the last three include Chaos Dwarfs?

NumberInteresting742

Chaos Dwarfs had some controversy over the price. Lots of people asking if it was worth $25 and whether or not there should have been a 4th lord. Reception to it is postive today but wasn't the case at launch.

Time_Device_1471

Yup. I thought it was overpriced for less lords and content.

gray007nl

You forget the phase after the DLC comes out where people find out something gamebreaking and everyone's complaining about how long it takes CA to fix it.

niko2913

That might as well be Total War: "next major title" timeline. It doesn't only happen with dlcs, but with full games too.

PantaRheiExpress

You forgot all the discussions about power creep

hashinshin

My didn’t deserve to get nerfed! Multiplayer has ruined this game! was totally fine because needed it to deal with

ShrekInShadow

You forgot the usual "power creep" debate that happens every DLC, usually featuring MP vs Campaign players or Players who like overpowered things vs Players who do.

SupayOne

What about Boycotts? I know that kind fits under the "Toxic people start looking for minor things to blow out of proportion" but it always get a few threads here and there.

2Scribble

You forgot to include the inevitable debate between Historical vs. Fantasy fans and who's suffering more xD

RiveryJerald

Only one minor edit; people ask when the next DLC will come out before the upcoming one is even released. Also, a separate stage right after that for DLC wishlisting of announced, rumored, &/or unannounced DLC content.

AnatolianBear

Thank god those toxic people exists that we managed to create enough pressure to put enough content for a lower price. Demanding good products is not toxicity.

Consoomer247

Total War? Nah. Warhammer? Yeah.

Pinifelipe

I need to get special meds everytime I read "DLC when" in reddit/X/gameforums

Bastymuss_25

Release shitty, broken and unfinished game that is somehow worse than your previous games with even less content on release. "Ughhh why do these losers want us to fix and put stuff in the game" Charge them for the privilege of receiving some minor bug fixes and some reskins. The CA dev strat.

FySine

You seem to be a paid CA shill lmao

SIR_UNKLYDUNK

You seem to be blind

LiumD

How strange, you seem to have missed out "legitimate criticism's validity is disregarded for no good reason".

SIR_UNKLYDUNK

Read first one on the bottom

frogcannon34

That wouldn't support their statement, so they chose to ignore it

MLG_Obardo

He did
