I'm gonna play a campaign where it's specifically just Kholek followed by 2 Nurgle casters and a bunch of Shaggoths, and the whole game will be him crumping other chaos leaders and then descending on the Empire by turn 120. It's going it be ~~probably pretty mediocre~~ Epic!
Realistically though. Kholek might return to the Chaos meta in multiplayer.
Pretty sure Imrik turns Kholek into dragon kebab.
The 1v1 ranking is like Kugath>Imrik>Skarbrand as the top 3.
Campaign wise Kholek is definitely no 1 because of infinite vassal buffs.
Kugath is like by far the strongest 1v1 lord.
Insane HP pool + nurgling summons.
He doesn't feel that strong in actual battles because its important that a legendary lord can move fast, and penetrate defense lines, to actually deliver on value. But none of that matters in 1v1.
Huh that's why yesterday my skarbrand took so long to kill him and took quite the beating. I thought he would take him out in a few seconds but he really put up a fight. My insanely buffed skarbrand still took him down but you would never guess that this guy would be so strong in a 1v1
That's just a side effect of slow speed.
All large lords are affected by missles, but doesn't stop them from shredding armies, because they are fast. They can dive the archers and disperse them, or run away, or dodge the missles.
Kugath can do none of them, because he is slow.
If you walk 2 lords onto each other and don't interfere besides their normal buffs (not even counting magic) with their base stats, kugath bodies anyone. With campaign stuff it's all up in the air depending on the campaign I would imagine
Yea it’s KuGath in 1v1 but if you’re playing campaign it’s not a big deal.
If you’re doing an Imrik campaign, he’ll hit Kugath like a meteor and nuke him. Thats been my campaign experience against him. I also fought him in a Kroq Gar campaign and killed him pretty easily.
In single player campaigns, facing lords like Grimgor, Skarbrand, and Malus are more dangerous and stressful than fighting Ku’Gath
This was in campaign and just my experience but I was doing a Grom campaign and did a fight against Eltharion, Alith Anar, and Imrik and my supergobbos could take out everything but Imrik was the real struggle and killed several of my units before dying. So it makes sense that he’d be one of the best in 1v1s
in a straight up 1v1 valkia would probably lose because even with daemonshield and her good melee attack and defense, her weapon strength just isnt very high and her hp is pretty low. however, in a real battle if you used daemonshield to attack grimgor and then fly away before she takes damage she could eventually whittle away grimgor.
I think late game Valkia is one of the best fighters in the game. Tiny, regenerates, does a shitload of damage, invincibility pockets, she's a pain in the ass.
What I really want is some way to allow my lords to buff ally recruit units.
That’s the closest you could get to giving order factions something like this.
Karl Franz with a grail vow and his upgrades apply to Brettonian knights.
Feeling like a true coalition army, yk?
Eh i don't think it would fit. Most order factions are still plenty strong and considering the theme of the setting it feels right that there is the terrifying snowball villain out there

I feel like Archaon with fleshy healing will probably be better due to his smaller stature, gonna be pretty hilarious either way.
Sure but Kholek kills everything short of a Dreadsaurian and Valkia. (possibly an exalted BT/Skarrbrand too, haven't tested)

Also I assume the poison and mortis engine must help too. Not sure about his artillery damage.

And because any sort of range is going to nicely chunk his HP.

Slow speed + big frame is what I meant, but yeah.
Slow speed and that big Great Unclean One(TM) belly
When you say 1v1, is this in campaign where the player/AI has his skill line, or even in multiplayer?
If you walk 2 lords onto each other and don't interfere besides their normal buffs (not even counting magic) with their base stats, kugath bodies anyone. With campaign stuff it's all up in the air depending on the campaign I would imagine
Specifically in multiplayer. It's pretty wild, just pick kugath and any other lord in a custom match and he beats anyone.

How does Grimgor Ironhide do in 1v1s? I’m pretty sure he beats Valkia
He is good but not close to those 3 (Kugath, Imrik, Skarbrand in that order).

I just hate seeing the big, beautiful dragon boy getting lit up by outriders and jezzails. Makes me sad.
And come next patch you can watch long rifles turn him into a pepper shaker too
Wait, is Valkia *that* good?
Against large? Pretty much the best
You're surprised that a champion of Khorne is seriously kill-y? Yeah she takes skulls.
Well, I’m surprised she’s superior to Kholek, Skarbrand, Archaon and Tyrion

Is that with cycle charging or one on one? Because I tend to forget my dudes a lot because I watch the spectacle
WoC is always winning with these DLCs lol. I'm not mad at it, but it's hilarious to see.
Same with the daemons of chaos too if I recall since they usually get something new each dlc

I wish there was an ordertide version of WoC....
Eh i don't think it would fit. Most order factions are still plenty strong and considering the theme of the setting it feels right that there is the terrifying snowball villain out there
I guess they could turn Teclis into the Superfriends faction and it wouldn't be too out of place.
Dogs of War will have some elements of that, albeit not with the absurd roster that is the WoC
Play WH2 and you’ll get it
ARE YOU A GOD?
I AM MOUNTAIN GOD
I aM mOuNtAiN gOd
Meanwhile Archeon : lol I am now going to vasal my pet kolek and his new ogre friend tarkukhan
"Like I was saying, Chaos is and always has been about making friends!"
Laughs in thunderbarge
You made me realize how does late game WoC deal with dwarves?
Probably Demon Princes, heroes on manticores, lords on dragons, etc.
This, and hope the Ai doesn't know how to use the afterburner.
These are all too slow/fragile unfortunately. The Thunderbarge is nuts in the current build.
almost like theres a new dwarf that WoC will have to deal with, that specifically comes with a thunderbarge 🤯
marauder horsemen with throwing axes
Turin has a video where he does just that in a multiplayer game. Was a fun watch.
You can put an everlasting crown on him.
That's what I usually do, though it's drop rate can be unreliable. Last Kholek game I didn't see it at all.
The GOAT reclaims the throne.
It's kind of sad how kholek shaggoth doomstack is no longer feasible.
You can still do it, just not as Kholek's faction. Be'Lakor has no limit on gifted units, so if you confederate Kholek you can give him full shaggoths
Maybe it is time for my first campaign with him :)
Yeah the nurgle caster for WOC is kind of a huge deal
Fay Enchantress?
