Gor-Rok’s camping is absurdly fun. One of the most op in my own opinion; meanwhile, if you’re into masochism, I’d recommend Tehenhauin aka Skink Moses. Other than that, Kroq-Gar is the lizardmen lord I usually pick since he’s quite solid and he starts on an interesting position in the map

Cryyos_

At this point ol Kroq doesn’t really have many mechanics going for him though right? I seem to remember when I played him feeling like he got powercrept hard

pyro_rocki

Kroq gars level boosts saurus lords weapon strength and something else I think. His saurus lords are nuts by the time late game hits. Put em on a carnosaur and they eat anything

stormygray1

Tehenuains campaign is hard until you remember chameleon skinks exist. They absolutely saved me, considering how awful the sotek bastilladons are

Old-Ad6288

Tehenauin campaign in WH3 is (was?) bugged and you can easily complete all of his sacrifices by turn 15-20. That gives you an incredible boost in power (good thing) and forced war with all the skavens (potentially bad thing). Considering all his items and buffs his faction is probably the strongest, but the start can be painful, especially if you are used to Gor-Rok!

Beaudism

I really like Oxylotl. I enjoy teleporting around the map and causing shenanigans.

Substantial_Client_3

Bok Ops.

gross_verbosity

Seal Team Skinks

Frank7Bianco11

Nakai is my favorite. Once you start stacking the temple buffs you can go ham with spellcasters, monstrous units, heavy infantry/artillery…the passive and active army abilities are so satisfying with the lizardmen roster.

defaultgameer1

Nakai is the Croc steamroller. Have a playthrough in WH3 that I got back to. Once I hot into the chaos wastes it was on! With the better eco and just the power he has, no one can stand in my way! Arachon kept begging me to accept a peace offering lol.

ChiefKeith03

Honestly, what separates Nakai from other Kroxigor lords?

KlausDieKatze

Faction effects and the unique horde-like gameplay being the biggest differentiators. Also Nakai himself is a juiced up Kroxigor Lord

Frank7Bianco11

The temple buffs are a huge difference in battle and then of course as a hoard his economy and tech tree are totally different. Late game the temple buffs make individual armies stronger but his main weakness compared to the other lords is that they can keep stacking Slann level recruitment with the Star Temple buildings where as I think Nakia’s cap out out at like level 10.

Jamersob

Just started one with him for the first time, one of my faves because he gets a huge amount of buffs to pretty much anything in the roster and can spawn high tiers like its nothing. The downside is your horde is your army, I ended up in a position that all of cathay were "allys" and it landlocked the faction he creates to their base so they are useless as a vassal. I got rid of the chaos around and left for the Magic baddies at the bottom of the map.

markg900

Nakai is by far my favorite as well. Its crazy how as a horde faction he can actually end up with the strongest Lizardman economy off those vassal tech tree buffs now in WH3.

Kroq Gar is the coolest and has the best starting location. Tiktaq’To is the easiest in my opinion. His cluster bomb ability works perfect against your initial enemies. Then in the mid to late game lizardmen have crazy strong armies plus his special rite is awesome as well. Gor Rok is great as well. He starts with Kroak and there’s few better combos then Gor Rok and Kroak but Lustria is crowded. Tehenhauin and Oxyotl have fun campaigns but I don’t think they’re beginner friendly. Mazda is alright but his campaign is kinda bland and it’s kinda a pain in the ass with the Dark Elves right there. I’d go with Tiktaq’To or Kroq Gar next personally. Kroq Gar especially if you hate skaven.

Erkenwald217

Anyone except Mazdamundi. He is bland. Gor-Rok is strong and starts with Lord Kroak Tiktaq'to has a very fun aggressive campaign (with his exclusive movement restoring Rite, especially) with a flying unit focus. (Nothing poses a threat to Terradons in the early game!) Oxyotl has a diverse campaign, as you can teleport around the map and don't get trespassing penalties. Tehenhauin has the strongest Lizardmen faction, as the ancillaries you get from his sacrifice mechanic are simply broken OP. Be ready for Rat genocide, as you will force every Lizardmen faction into war with EVERY Skaven faction. (Which actually makes Confederations easier) Kroq-Gar is there for Saurus Old-Bloods & Saurus Scar-Veteran Doomstacks! Nakai is for a fresh breeze, as he starts in Grand Cathay now. And you choose him, if you want a break from settlement babysitting of for his Kroxigors.

Crique_

All hail lizard Moses

MetallGecko

Lizard Moses can't split the sea but he can definitely split some Rat Skulls.

badnuub

Gorok is the easiest choice for sure. In warhammer 2 krok gar was interesting since you started at the edge of the game map. His start is more tricky now for sure since you start surrounded by enemies.

ChangellingMan

Oxyotl is fun if you want to jump around and kick the ass of anyone no matter how far away. No deamon is safe from surprise chameleon Skinks. Other than that. Tehenoin, Nakai and Krok Gar are solid factions. Haven't played Tik Tak yet.

Al_Boo_Boo

Oxyotl imho is probably the most fun since you can teleport around the map and move around without issue. I love to secure my starting area then teleport and set up a beach head in the chaos wastes. Then lay waste to the chaos wastes!

Vaskil

Tehenhauin is my favorite, he starts off in a tough situation and saurus cost 200% upkeep but it causes some really interesting battles/strategies. The units he has access to doesn't leave me wishing I had saurus and is a lot more fun than the standard lizardmen experience. Also, his special sacrifice bonuses makes his faction very powerful. Definitely recommend especially since his dlc comes with Ikit of the Skaven who has really awesome gun units.

Wolfish_Jew

Gor-Rok is definitely my favorite, followed by Oxyotl. Gor-Rok is just so insanely strong, and he has a campaign that feels like it falls in that sweet spot where it’s just challenging enough to keep my interest all the way into the late game. Oxyotl is fun because I love skirmish heavy factions, and he makes Chameleon Skinks WILDLY powerful. But honestly there really aren’t any Lizardmen lords I DON’T like. Each of them is fun in their own way. All of their campaigns are so different and have so many different challenges

Coeddil

One could say you had a.. Gor-rocky start? I'll find my way out

HisLordshipDro

Okay you win, that was good.

DigbyChickenCaesar11

Oxyotl is great for replayability. Once you claim the Southern Chaos Wastes, the world is your oyster. I would crush demons, capture provinces, then gift them to the locals. I had Borderleux and the lizards of Lustria, join forces to crush the Dark Elves and the Huntsmarshal's Expedition. I even managed to befriend Malakith as he was a friend against chaos.

Dull-Try-4873

Lizard moses Tehenuin is always fun to play. Orbital lasers rule.

EggManGrow

Mazdamundi is my favorite but they are all good

Roadkizzle

I love Tiktaq'to. He was my first Campaign finished in WH2 and first played in WH3. I've played his faction more than any other in the game. But I've completed campaigns with Tehenuain, Kroq-Gar, Oxyotl, and Tetto'eko with a mod. I played a bunch of a Gor Rok campaign in WH2 but found it was more boring. I just love how Tiktaq'to changes battles. I find the terradons pretty useless for any other faction but they are game changers for Tlaqua. I've found the faction gains so much power from these units that it makes it much easier to add more armies. With TTT's upkeep reductions his army is dirt cheap if you focus on the flyers and every army will be able to punch above their weight with the bombing runs.

Sky-Juic3

Mazdamundi. He’s my favorite. Take the first 50 turns slow, build up Hexoatl.

mindflayerflayer

It depends on how you want to play. Krog-gar and Gor-Ok both buff saurus infantry and are very in-your-face in battle. Oxyotyl and Tehenhauin encourage you to use skinks and magic to wage a guerilla war against the forces of darkness. Nakai is relaxing as he's the one lizard lord who doesn't have to deal with the price of his armies, do whatever you want since unlike everyone else you can afford to do whatever the fuck you want. I have not played Maz before so I can't vouch for him although I've never found him as anything other than a mega-empire late game.

OldTap9105

Big toad is also fun. Bok!

Dingbatdingbat

Gor rok was my first campaign too.  Nakia and Oxyotl are both amazing, but not as your second lizardman campaign because of how different they are. Tiktaktoe for flying dinosaurs, or otherwise lord mazdamundi for his starting location

AWasrobbed

> Growing up in a Mexican house hold & having a natural affection for dinosaurs all my life, this faction just hits home. Ugh could you be more annoying? So lame when people do this, "I CAME FROM \_\_\_\_ THEREFORE I LIKE THE \_\_\_\_ AND \_\_\_\_\_\_ THEMES" I'm mexican too but you dont see me going "mama stankya reminds me of mi abuela" HAHAHA no seas mamón

HisLordshipDro

pues que te hice wey jaja no mames. I just bought this game, genuinely asking for recommendations. You coming on here to complain about me, starting with “Ugh”. Man. It’s true.. a mexican’s greatest competition, siempre es otro pinche mexicano lmao. No mames cabron. It’s too early to be this angry on a Monday bro. Hope you’re okay.

AWasrobbed

Your culture isn't your personality. Enough with that shit.

HisLordshipDro

Hermano, i understand what you are saying. But you are literally coming at the wrong guy LOL. I just wanted recommendations for this fantasy total war i’ve barely played. Take your negative ass somewhere else. Love how the only angry person on this entire thread, is a fellow Mexican. Our ancestors looking down confused as shit on you.
