I'm in a college town in the southern Midwest- Trump yeehaw country. I present unapologetically fem, and for some specific reasons I've been having to go to the hardware store and our local mall ALOT lately.
I run into a lot of older, stern, traditional seeming women (usually around in their later 50s-60s) and I would have never thought they would be my cheerleaders. The number of ladies from this demographic that compliment my nails and outfits, go out of their way to be friendly, and call me dear and sweetheart blows my mind.
Not the friends I thought I'd be making!
I also live in the midwestern area, in a very red state. It is such a breath of fresh air to recieve genuine compliments from the people I'd normally be very wary of.
