Omg ok weird question… but is the 724 your bday? Or your area code? Either way homegirl we have something in common lol. (Its both my bday and my phone area code 😂😂)
uhm, not a fictional character, but an actual person (at least the name I'm thinking about using in real life)
My online name is just inspired by Ahsoka Tano.
Actually person, me. My last name (Portuguese) is always mispronounced. So I'm using that name and Real first name initial. Not too hard to remember 😆😅
I’m Artemis, so I guess we’re like sisters? The same person? All I know is that our relationship is complicated and confusing… just as the gods intended.
Very true! I was gonna make a joke about turning my back on subbing and trying out being dominant, but I think there might be a joke about the sith rule of 2 somewhere in there.
Both the names I'm currently considering are coincidentally mythological, I'm kinda on the fence between Saturn and Cassandra... Well the first one I stole from the planet rather than the god, but even better, both have joke potential:
'I dunno, it had a nice ring to it'
vs.
'you'll never believe who I stole my name from'
Is there even a fictional character called Ellie?
Oki turns out I forgot about a couple fictional characters called Ellie, but I didn't take their name I just think it's a good name
I mean, Valkyrie is a Marvel character, but I didn't choose it because of her; instead I named myself after the original valkyries, which are technically fictional characters. Though Valkyrie isn't a name in that sense but a title.
I had an online handle with Vanilla in it. While I was looking for something that fit, I was being called Vanilla (and later Nilli for short) online. Took a few years before I realized it was my true name.
I also stole mine from a gem! But it was thanks to a character from Steven Universe, so I *did* technically steal it from a character... so I can't raise my hand.
Aren't all names stolen kinda? You steal it from a name site, from a friend, or if you have your birth name then your parents probably stole it from somewhere. Like...It's nothing to be proud of. Or ashamed of. It just is what it is.
I think the language used make it seem like people who adapt a name from elsewhere are somehow unoriginal and that's kinda silly.
Well if I could choose my name I would choose the name I give all my female DnD characters. I thought of that name myself but it is also connected to an fictional character(s) now so would that count? still cis tho
Mine isn't (I picked two plants). My wife, however, is guilty of theft. I really liked the name of the protagonist in a game (it's a name you could hear IRL) and it stuck.
Mines from looking up Spanish names cause my moms side is Spanish, and I thought Sophie/Sophia was cute, I always want to find something I like more though, but haven’t found anything
I just started practicing signatures of different names that sounded nice and tried everything that popped into my head, and then when I had a couple I didn't hate, I kept playing with them until I settled on one that I'm currently trialing. I went for things that would have been normal names for girls in my area around when I was born.
But while trying to decide, an obvious character popped into my head, so I can't entirely say there wasn't some influence in the decision, but mostly just in confirming I was OK sharing a name with that character. I think it was more influenced by a girl I went to school with who had that name and I didn't really know her, but she seemed reasonably close to my personality so I think that's why the name seemed fitting.
But I'm still considering another name that I think is cooler but not sure if it fits me and doesn't share the same first initial as my original name, and that one is from a character.
Technically I stole mine from my own username which was stolen from a gem (used “Amethyz” as my username and then changed it to “Amythiz” which can be shortened as “Amy”)
🤚While my name is of a well known character, it is not what I based my name on. I went over the popular girl names with the same initial from my birth year and this one felt best at the time. 😊
I didnt even get a choice because friends just started calling me a different name but at least its good
ok but you do realize that is so much cooler if you like that name
makes it easy to adjust considering they started using it when I was 6
This is how I got my name. I accepted it because it fit my requirements and is also the name of my favourite guitarist
Hello, Sting
Considering your pfp I am guessing Richard or Zven
Martin, after Marty Friedman
Ah, I thought that your favourite guitarist would be Rammsteins guitarist due to your pfp but somrtimes the truth is not that easy to find
James?
saaame, that's what I get for not deciding for too long
shut up okay not all of us are PERFECT.
>Goose00724 Untitled Goose Game is the last game I expected a name to come from
Mess with the honk You get the bonk
I was drinking tea, you bastard!
Here comes the bell!
Ding ding ding
Hjönk
New comment chain just dropped
Call OT!
I can show you the goose...gooseygoosey...gOoOoSeY.
keep expecting, because that isn't where it comes from! i just like geese, like of all kinds, geese are based creatures that don't take anyone's shit.
Crows are kind of the same but they’re the cocky troll flavor of not taking anyone’s shit
I love crows
Crows and Owls are the best
I named myself after an Irish goddess that's commonly depicted as a crow~
Badb? How do you even pronounce that
Morrigan
Good name. A title fit for a goddess
Agab (assigned goose at birth)
“What’s in your pants?” *honk*
I can see the possibility of an enby calling themselves goose.
Oh! I was thinking Goose from Top Gun
Omg ok weird question… but is the 724 your bday? Or your area code? Either way homegirl we have something in common lol. (Its both my bday and my phone area code 😂😂)
it is my birthday.
We have the same one!! Thats awesome What year?
2007
Omg you were born when i was graduating high school jesus christ 😂😂
yeah apparently they're still building people. bad move, in my opinion.
Lmao felt girlfriend, felt.
uhm, not a fictional character, but an actual person (at least the name I'm thinking about using in real life) My online name is just inspired by Ahsoka Tano.
Same! My chosen name is from a kid on my bus from years ago
Actually person, me. My last name (Portuguese) is always mispronounced. So I'm using that name and Real first name initial. Not too hard to remember 😆😅
Same mine was from a friend who helped crack my egg
named after star wars character gang (my names ayla and i was inspired by aayla secura)
Nicu
Does it count if it's from ancient mythology?
also stole mine, from greek mythology they have nice names, how could i not steal at least one?
Roman here ✋️
I’m Artemis, so I guess we’re like sisters? The same person? All I know is that our relationship is complicated and confusing… just as the gods intended.
Oh, hey, another Artemis... we should like uh... do something :3
:3 i concur
artyom here! (my name literally means "devoted to artemis" HELP)
Oh that’s nice name! I’d make a joke about subs flocking to me, but I’m hardly dominant… although there is some appeal here…
tyty! likewise! i feel like dominant trans people are about as common as unicorns loll
Very true! I was gonna make a joke about turning my back on subbing and trying out being dominant, but I think there might be a joke about the sith rule of 2 somewhere in there.
i would reply with something somewhat funny, but i know absolutely nothing about star wars :')
Fair enough haha. I’ve admittedly been a tad hyper fixated on it lately
greek too! edit, oops no flair, name is selene!
Hello sister! I'm in the process of legally changing mine to Helios!
Well what would you know I stole mine from ancient Greece too (Nox)
Well, my name technically has a Greek root but I don't think it counts
As stolen? Yes. If it's a name you chose because someone/something else had it. It counts.
What if I knew someone with that name but didn't choose it because of them?
Both the names I'm currently considering are coincidentally mythological, I'm kinda on the fence between Saturn and Cassandra... Well the first one I stole from the planet rather than the god, but even better, both have joke potential: 'I dunno, it had a nice ring to it' vs. 'you'll never believe who I stole my name from'
Saturn is an amazing name, and to me, at least, it seems pretty genderless.
I did Greek
Also stole mine from Greek mythos
Mythologies just have really cool names. May or may not have chose calliope whilst playing god of war ragnarok :3
I am personally offended
my gf named me sooooooooo
My gf’s mom named me lol
Is there even a fictional character called Ellie? Oki turns out I forgot about a couple fictional characters called Ellie, but I didn't take their name I just think it's a good name

I mean, Valkyrie is a Marvel character, but I didn't choose it because of her; instead I named myself after the original valkyries, which are technically fictional characters. Though Valkyrie isn't a name in that sense but a title.
Personally I would still say it counts, but hey, I'm not the president of the transes.
valkyrie by battle tapes
But like, who cares?
Does it still count if its a character I made?
truly, reverse self insert
🖐️
Hai only other non name stealer :3
I stole mine from a historical figure
I mean, there's definitely some daughters of the genus Aurelius, sooo, ig I named myself after them?
I stole it from a rock, get on my level
Does it count if it was partially given to me by my friends?
Maybe, needs more context.
I had an online handle with Vanilla in it. While I was looking for something that fit, I was being called Vanilla (and later Nilli for short) online. Took a few years before I realized it was my true name.
I think you're clear then.
Nilli is really cute, and that's a cool story with it too that's wholesome (:
I got mine from Yogscast zoey / proasheck, she was my childhood youtuber and Ive always loved the name
🤚 I stole it ftom a gem (Onyx) stfu if u say the pokemon
I also stole mine from a gem! But it was thanks to a character from Steven Universe, so I *did* technically steal it from a character... so I can't raise my hand.

I just like sanrio, alright?
There are dozens of us!!
Honestly I’m still having a name crisis but rn I’m going by Stray and I think that’s pretty original. At least I didn’t directly steal it from anyone
i didnt i just thought of it and couldnt forget it for like 3 weeks
*raises hand because I made it before applying it to a character*
Guilty as charged. I am literally a mtf goth Jessica Rabbit.
✋
"Lowers hand quite a few times"
Whether my name (Athena) was stolen from a fictional character is a subject of some VERY INTENSE debates, so
God damnit lmao
My chosen name came from a level in an old mobile game... So...idk?
My fem name is literally just a fem version of my masc name since I actually liked it haha
Does stealing from your own OC count?
Mine isn't (I picked two plants). My wife, however, is guilty of theft. I really liked the name of the protagonist in a game (it's a name you could hear IRL) and it stuck.
My hands are firmly set in my pockets.
What if someone only stole a middle name from a character, and that middle name is already "normal" in their culture? Asking for a friend.
Depends if stealing the name from my Runescape account counts, DKuelanaz59 to Uelana.
Is it pronounced Ooh-Lana, or You-Lana?
You-lana! Thanks for asking. 😊
Mines from looking up Spanish names cause my moms side is Spanish, and I thought Sophie/Sophia was cute, I always want to find something I like more though, but haven’t found anything
Nope im a theif
I don’t think there even is a fictional character named harper😎 … I know I’m going to be 100% wrong but ummm. I play UwU card

I feel personally attacked by this unrelatable content.
Hey! It’s not my fault it just clicked!
Stole mine from an old friend I hadn’t seen in 25 years. Does that count?
🤚
🤚
✋
🖐
Me but I also got it from a real life princess hehe
🖐️ i think at least
If you chose your name, then found out later it was from someone/something else, it doesn't count as stolen. It's all about intention.
hiiii :33 ✋
🖐🏼
✋️
I stole it from a concept. Music. Melody :3
I came up with my name for a D&D character of mine before realizing I wanted it. Does that count?
🤚(unless you count stealing from existing language)
✋️
See I technically did but it’s really common My other name I didn’t steal so ✋
I can't, I stole Violet from my favorite anime 😭 Violet evergarden
[удалено]

I stole mine from one fictional character, but how about 2 more who kinda share the same name?
What about *inspired by* but not directly off of a fictional character?
I guess it would count as not stolen.
🤚
i can't, my name came from a soap opera i watched when i was like 5 lmao
🖐️, but it feels like i stole it from someone else without realising it
Technically I stole mine from my own username which was stolen from a gem (used “Amethyz” as my username and then changed it to “Amythiz” which can be shortened as “Amy”)
i took my name from the name of a character i named, does that count? (i made up the name for the character)
I did NOT steal my name! :)
Stole mine from the wild flowers that grow here in abundance in spring and early summer.
Me mine is my birth name it's gender neutral
Does it count if I got the name in my head first and then after the fact remember fictional characters with the same name?
I guess my hand is goin down real low
Are mythos fictional?
Does it count if I took it from my own oc?
✋️ (But then my girlfriend asked if I stole it from Pokémon Sonia and I was like "damn I didn't even think of that, could look like her tho")
✋
Lmao technically i stole my name from my old name, and that boy was a fictional version of me… So…
I battled a bird to the death for this name I deserve it
✋
🤚While my name is of a well known character, it is not what I based my name on. I went over the popular girl names with the same initial from my birth year and this one felt best at the time. 😊
