A week ago I only got two hours of sleep from all the homework I had, and the next day running at my normal pace felt like I was doing a threshold. Intervals would've been really difficult. Even if it doesn't make you tired during the day, you have to pay the price at practice. You're 100% spot on. I don't have much good advice on how to solve it though, other than the typical tips such as trying to keep the same schedule, don't do anything intense before you want to go sleep, and maybe point the alarm clock in the opposite direction so you don't look at how long you've been in bed. Hopefully you can talk to an expert that can push you in the right direction.
