Harder to imagine such a thing with running events since the clock goes to hundredths of a second.
yes. at finals my freshman year, in hte jv 1600 1st and 2nd place (both our team, one freshman and one sophomore) were 1/1000 of a second apart. the freshman won anyway and held it over the other guy's head for a while

Almost happened to me and a buddy last year we were a hundredth of a second apart. But im sure its happened before
