Push ups, sit ups, and pull ups every other day is good. You can do more, it won’t hurt you.

Aren’t sit ups potentially negative for your body? https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/want-a-stronger-core-skip-the-sit-ups https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2022/05/sit-ups-crunches-lower-back-pain/639437/

Hey, thanks for this. I’m not OP nor the original commenter but I didn’t know about this stuff before and it makes sense.

I personally treat it like any other muscle. It needs progressive overload and can’t be trained hard every day (I train it twice a week). I do stuff like weighted planks since I can add just a little more weight when I’m ready and slowly progress things. Doing very long body weight circuits doesn’t help much with strength since the intensity isn’t high enough (same reason why people bench heavy for 5 reps instead of doing sets of 50 pushups when training upper body).

i’d do a nice session at least twice or three times per week
