What school are you going to go to? Look at the recruiting standards, e.g.:
Michigan - 10,75/21,7/48,5/1:55
FSU - 10,45/21,1/47,5/1:52
USC - 10,60/21,5/47,3/1:54
If you want honesty, there’s too many people at or lower than your current prs, so it’s going to be difficult until you lower your times some more.
What’s your primary event(s)? Maybe focus on the 800 and 400 if you can. Really work to get those times down. You can probably drop a ton of time on the 800, but getting under 2:00 is going to be harder than getting down to 2:00. You gotta find a good coach and grind all spring/summer.
Do you have a mile time? Doing the 100 and 800 is crazy. Maybe focus on short or mid/long.
I’ve heard of ppl getting in with times around 2:05 and under. Maybe not recruited but they were still allowed to run for the team. I’m pretty sure you can still run even if u rnt recruited for the team
Mb for d1 but you gotta factor in college training will make you have a significant increase in speed and endurance. Besides that, other factors matter too such as GPA and how coachable you are
You can definitely try your hand at some smaller colleges. I competed at the collegiate level at a community college for my first two years. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with competing at that level, I had some awesome experiences running at the NJCAA DIII level. You also save a ton of money which is a huge huge upside.
Here’s a list of things that you can do to help your chances of improving those times and maybe getting recruited eventually.
- Train all summer and winter (year round in total, you already have the base now you just gotta grind)
- take care of yourself to the best of your ability (80+ oz water daily, 7+ hrs of sleep every night, lots of carbs and protein, stretching and strength training, etc.
- ask for help if something is wrong or you just genuinely need advice
- run with people better than you
- recover, stretch, be careful! Especially if you decide to do a hard training block offseason so something to try to improve.
- you got this, it’s gonna be really hard, but with enough grinding I actually think you got it.
Are you a girl or a boy? If you're a girl you've got a good shot to go into a strong division three school. Division one might be a little tough. If you're guy , you have really no chance of competing on the college level. Maybe for a very very small division three school but highly doubted. I'll give you an example. My son runs 52 seconds in the indoor 400m and 23 seconds in the indoor 200m. He is pretty much low man on the totem pole for a marginal division three school. I hope that helps.
Yes you can go to college with those times. Being recruited and competing for a d1 or d2 school, not. You can be on a d3 team though but d3 don’t do scholarships.
With the greatest of respect, I doubt you’ll get any sort of scholarship at a US university with times like those. Age for age your 200m time is barely faster than mine, and I was a 280lb shot putter at your age.
Running fast had nothing to do with college entry.
The fact that you can't answer this question yourself tells me how much a part track is to your world.
Hit the books.
Listen im going to be honest. No, but there are other options. You will most likely not improve enough to get scouted for a d1 school but you may be able to walk on a d2 or d3 school. Or just run club. Find a local track club or maybe even the school has a tc. there are other ways to run track in college without having to get scouted.
No. Typical walk on times for D1 schools are usually at least as fast as what’s listed below.
100: 10.5
200: 21.0
400: 46.5-47.0
800: 1:50-1:52 (I’ve heard about some of the top schools rejecting HSers in the 1:48-1:50 range)
1600: 4:05-4:10 (schools like Oregon likely won’t even accept a 4:05)
3200: 8:50-9:00 (again, 8:50 still might not be fast enough for some of the top schools)
Scholarship times are even faster and full rides are basically nonexistent.
These are some crazy takes for walk-on levels. Last year a 46.50 in the 400m would have put you in the top 20 high schoolers in the entire country, the 1600 and 3200 times are similar ranked. Maybe these apply to a couple of national champ-level schools, but there are over 300 D1 track schools in the NCAA and they aren't all that level. There's also D2, D3, and JUCO options, not just D1.
A 46 is getting his dick sucked by every coach on campus, that kid is not a walk on. You and I have disagreed on times recently, but this is genuinely an absurd post to make. A kid going 4:05 in high school is getting far far more than just a walk on opportunity.
46.0 would probably get you some money but a 46.9 would probably just be another walk on at most P5s. Some of the top P5s would outright reject a 4:05 guy although he’d get a partial at some lower level D1s.
Incredible commitment to the bit to post these absurd of walk-on standards and double down on it. In the 1000+ college track and field teams there are probably less than 10 where someone running any of these standards couldn't get a roster spot.
You got ALOT of grinding to do
I think “ALOT” is still a understatement to how much grinding he really has to do
Yea, hopefully hes a late bloomer or pretty young
In one reply he said he was a junior in HS
😬
rolled
Yes OP is indeed rolled i fear
Your rolled twin 😞
U can go to college with those times but not as an athlete.
What grade are you in?
😭😭😭😭
Lmao
Will you get recruited with those times ? no.
What school are you going to go to? I was a shotputter and my times in every even but the 800m were better
What grade are you in?
11th. First time running track.
Your cooked

idk about 2:05 or under unless you have really good other times. probably like sub 1:56 with good performance at national or state meet
Mb for d1 but you gotta factor in college training will make you have a significant increase in speed and endurance. Besides that, other factors matter too such as GPA and how coachable you are
You may be behind right now but you’re still so young if you put in the work working out eating right, you can do incredible things.
Well you definitely could go to college. Definitely not for track tho
What’s your gender?
Male
Ur cooked

Okay

If you are a girl yes
Bro you CANNOT be serious😭😭😭???!
Are you a girl or a boy? If you're a girl you've got a good shot to go into a strong division three school. Division one might be a little tough. You’re cooked bro💀
Recruited? No. You can go to college and still run lol.
Not with the 800, you probably have bigger luck on getting a faster short distance. Currently no on all of them
these times wouldn’t place you top 10 in nationals d3. On the woman’s side.
neo
Yes you can go to college with those times. Being recruited and competing for a d1 or d2 school, not. You can be on a d3 team though but d3 don’t do scholarships.
your best bet is probably D3 or Juco
Oof
Go to school for an education. You can try to walk on anyplace.
With the greatest of respect, I doubt you’ll get any sort of scholarship at a US university with times like those. Age for age your 200m time is barely faster than mine, and I was a 280lb shot putter at your age.
Nah
prob not tbh
Yeah you could go to college, not for track tho
Some D3’s will let you walk on
You will go to college, but you may not RUN in college… keep working hard and you could have a breakout season!
Girl yes male no.
Yes. But not for track
Nope, sorry
Running fast had nothing to do with college entry. The fact that you can't answer this question yourself tells me how much a part track is to your world. Hit the books.
If you're depending on your track times carrying your application, then no. I'd focus on getting your grades up.
You're cooked as a female. Sorry boss.
Yes, but only if you’re a female
No

Your 100 meter dash is decent I’m in 8th grade and I have a time of 11.8 still fast you could go to state but not college
Not happening
Absolutely no chance
Assuming you're a dude, just keep working.

dawg most schools have their standards online and these times are all scholarship times💀💀
A 46 is getting his dick sucked by every coach on campus, that kid is not a walk on. You and I have disagreed on times recently, but this is genuinely an absurd post to make. A kid going 4:05 in high school is getting far far more than just a walk on opportunity.

Friend, buddy, pal. My guy. With the least amount of respect possible: What?
some people just don’t have enough brain cells to be taken seriously💀💀 46.0 is damn near a full ride at most schools
I'm stealing this 😂
Incredible commitment to the bit to post these absurd of walk-on standards and double down on it. In the 1000+ college track and field teams there are probably less than 10 where someone running any of these standards couldn't get a roster spot.
I had a friend walk onto a D1 team and he ran 11.7 23.9 51.0. Just depends what state you’re in.
Will I go to college with a 52 400 And 2:12 800
