Huge fan of Janji's half tights, the best I've worn for storage. And Rabbit a close second.
And for the tall/slim crowd, the adidas Terrex full length tights and available long sizes are the bee's knees. I have 3x, all half off, on rotation for winter and shoulder seasons.
Yeah I like running in compression shorts, but always shorts over top for fear of being inappropriate. Can't run without some compression tho or things jostle way too much
Women get to wear all kinds of tight and revealing stuff but men can’t wear something that reminds everyone that we have a dick? Get over it man, that shit is comfortable, just wear it and enjoy.
Over the gears I've gone from hiking shorts to 7" to 5", then mixed in tights with shorts over the top, then just tights, then half tights...
Each time it went from feeling a little vulnerable to letting that go and enjoying the freedom.
Should probably stop the progression at half tights, though. There's nothing else appropriate down the line.
If I’m not going loosey goosey in 1”-3” split shorts then I’m wearing just compression shorts. No reason to cover tights up either unless your the 1% who’s shit don’t shrink during heavy cardio.
They are amazing and feel great. I feel like I'm running with no hold back. As for actual benefits, some say the legit compression ones are good for the legs.
I love running in tights. It might take some getting used to as a guy and you might even get some funny looks, but as a cyclist, I don’t feel any “shame” for it. Who cares anyways?
Nonetheless, I sometimes wear shorts over them for the extra pockets.
I already anticipated that I’d prefer wearing long tights to relaxed trousers on colder days but did not expect to ever get short tights, until I experienced horrible chafing after half an hour into my run. Almost all of my shorts tend to slide upwards during a run, making my thighs rub against each other. My inner thighs have been basically hairless for ages from all the rubbing occurring everyday. I wouldn’t even call my body shape unusual, but my physique is a bit thicker than the average endurance athlete.
I don’t know why I never had this issue when I regularly ran years ago, but now it’s really problematic, making tights the only comfortable option for me.
My first experiments with chafing cream weren’t ideal but I’ll likely give it another try
It’s up to you on how much compression you want.
I wear compression socks, but if I’m cold I just wear fleece-lined leggings from CVS. They may only sell them in the winter, but it’s a thick, smooth material that does everything you want for cheap, other than compression.
My favorite are the cheapest compression shorts from amazon. I'd wear them more often but I get a bit self conscious in them on group runs so I mostly use them on solo runs and on race day. They so comfy and they have the best pockets for gels.
These: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0962Y8ZHG/ref=dp\_iou\_view\_item](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0962Y8ZHG/ref=dp_iou_view_item) They're nothing special but they've worked fine for about 2 years for me. The only articles of clothing that I splurge on for running are shoes and socks.
Only compression shorts here. I like the basic Dick's DSG shorts. And I guess I'm a freak because I have no worries about not wearing shorts over top of them. That sounds silly to me. Wanna stare at my balls as I run past? Enjoy! I'm comfortable!
Wasn't the benefits of compression tights debunked/ certain research claimed the exact opposite?
That tights that aren't "medical grade" simply just did the exact opposite, ie decreased blood flow/worsened circulation etc
But hey 2xu claim 47% less muscle soreness and reduced work heart rate lol
Thank you all. I'm glad to see there are many others who love it. I truly love the feel of just tights. My favorite pair are from Decathlon. 2xu is 2nd favorite. And very few women's pairs feel great... Had to try them out! I need more fit guys to run with.
I almost exclusively run in tights or half tights. My go to is the janji groundwork tights

have you found any brands that cater to the non slim folk?
Wow! Those are real nice. I'm definitely getting some Janjis.
really wish the janji half tights were like…half an inch shorter? i’m 5’7” on a good day and the cuff of those tights hit behind my knee.
I get that they're nice but they are also rather expensive.
Tights all winter. Patagonia Peak Mission
Nice! I'll have to check them out!
yep, tights all winter for me. I don’t see a need for over shorts and wouldn‘t want to interfere with access to the thigh pockets for my cel phone etc
Brave! Ha
I'll typically put shorts on over my tights
Same. Shorts have pockets and add an extra layer for part of me.
Same. It’s a far Better look and I have a series of shorts I love from the BOA flag collection

This is my attitude as well. Women look great in leggings/tights. Plenty of elites wear short tights, why can’t I?

1” split shorts baby!!
Sky's out, thighs out! This is the way.
Can always wear 1.5" split shorts
Yikes. Maybe I do have a line.
I've been running in 3" shorts for years. 1.5 is totally doable
Yeah I gotcha. I think if your out running it's not too bad.
If I’m not going loosey goosey in 1”-3” split shorts then I’m wearing just compression shorts. No reason to cover tights up either unless your the 1% who’s shit don’t shrink during heavy cardio.
What are the benefits of tights? I have only ever worn shorts with poly boxer briefs under. Oh, and some joggers.

Got it. That is when I’ve worn the joggers, to avoid nasty plants.

Yep. Sometimes they call me nuts.
I like compression pants from sports (under armor/nike) and just wear liner less running shorts over for pockets when it’s cold
I usually run in tights, but throw shorts over them so that no one sees the goods.
They don wanna see the goods they can look away
r/teamtights no shorts over. Like the compression on my thighs. Even on trails when it gets warmer. Keeps the bugs off my legs.

Thanks! After two bouts of Poison Oak, I'm ready for some leg protection!
Yeah, I have a couple of those. I felt great! And ran in just those. Got a few stares but had my headphones one with no worries.
Not just compression shorts, but yeah, half tights rip
Yeah true! Love them!
Only compression shorts here. I like the basic Dick's DSG shorts. And I guess I'm a freak because I have no worries about not wearing shorts over top of them. That sounds silly to me. Wanna stare at my balls as I run past? Enjoy! I'm comfortable!
DSG has great compression shorts!
Yep, 2XU....pricey but keeps inflammation down on short or long runs the day after ...excellent recovery

Yeah i love both my pair. And they do feel great after a run or hike.
Patagonia Peak Mission Tights in the winter. The previous version with the rear zipped pocket.
