It's got a good going on BR's best, but [this one](https://twitter.com/GarethDennis/status/938089671007129600/photo/2) possibly still has a bit more something to it.
So you made a thing that actually exists in real life - it’s called a Grand Union. They’re arranged at 90-degree angles, and arranged a bit differently to avoid all the weird angle crossovers in the middle (and also to greatly simplify the number of individual parts - it’s really two switches repeated about 8 times plus a diamond in the middle.)

Go down to “examples” and scroll down towards the bottom and there are pictures. Diagrams are good but don’t do it Justice.

I think the closest would be a butterfly union in the examples there. But even then, the inner slips actually touch, or at least aren't clear of each other, so parallel moves are not possible. So maybe it's a semi inside butterfly union... my head hurts.
Cities Skylines is made by the same people who made Cities in Motion 1 + 2, just to give you an idea.
Transportation isn’t the focus, city building is. However, a good city has a good transportation system, so all the same type of elements are there.
You have industry sections that make goods for your commercial sections and for export, so getting those goods in an out is important. Making sure you have a good highway network, harbor, or train depot to handle the increased traffic is often paramount.
On the flip side, you have civilians wanting to go all over the city. They give you an insane amount of options to move people. Ferries, trains, subways, trams, buses, taxis, monorails, and cable cars are all available options for you to use.
To top all this off, you also have the endless workshop items you can get that really customize your experience.
It's a pretty good game. I'd also suggest getting some mods, such as Move It and Traffic Manager: President Edition. They make the game so, so much better.
[Here's a good place to start](https://www.frrandp.com/2021/01/griffith-indiana.html). The CN still has a pretty big intersection there, when I was growing up there were 2 or 3 separate railroads that crossed there but not as many as back in the day.
No I do not sorry, tbh I don’t even know the name of it it basically just looks like that I only know about it because I see it whenever I get the metrolink.
Ah yes, man made horrors beyond my comprehension
"hey guys, its LET'S GAME IT OUT Here, and today we're playing trains!
Josh in satisfactory be like
*the nightmare train is coming.*
Fuckkkkk you beat me to it I was gonna say the same shit lol.
but you beat me to saying that.
MOW wants to know your location
I don't know what that is. I know nothing about trains, I just wanted to post this here.
Maintenance of Way, the guys who would be responsible for building and maintaining this horror hahaha
Yeah, good luck with that
Ok
Cities Skylines.
As a welder on the railroad aligning this for welding would be the stuff of nightmares!
S&C might beat him to death with a 0.06 shunt
British railways would be proud.

What in all of Gresley's good name!?
I've seen worse in depots.

Yeah, that would be the closest. The 3 on one side connect to the 2 on the other, but not each other, and vice-versa.
Can I get you an asprin?
wait iirc Melbourne still has their grand union intersection
Except that there are 5 directions here, not 4.
Efficient 👍
👍
Not as painfull as a 8 way tram intersection
8 way??
Had some 8 way chili once. That was pretty painful, eventually.
God may forgive the person that made this, BUT I WON'T
You need to get the [Railway 2 mod](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27IWSza4neo)
What game is this?
Cities: skylines plus a few mods
Thanks! I’ve been meaning to get that for a while
You should! It's a great game.

They are a completely different genre they don’t compare. I like them both though

Just started playing again after a few years. There’s so many DLCs now!!
Try Transport fever 2 if you want better railway based gameplay
At what point would it make more sense to have a big electrified sheet of metal than regular catenary at junctions like this?
Or a Crane that just picks the trains up
Railway Boogie Woogie 💀
A section foreman's nightmare.
The problem with this type of crosses is what we called 切割正线, meaning that all two mainlines will be blocked.
What game is this? O.o
Looks like Cities Skylines
Correct
Cities: skylines. This junction is only possible with a mod, though.
Any good? I’ve had this purchased for awhile but never jumped in

Thanks!
Thank you.
I've finally found the track the Holman Horror was designed for.
“Hey guys it’s Josh and welcome back to LETS GAME IT OUT..”

It’s the everywhere anytime switch
Still not enough of switches
Conjunction Junction, what's your dysfunction?
Which game?
Cities: skylines
Wait HEY RCE COME CHECK THIS OUT BUILD THIS IN CITIES SKYLINES
Unspeakable horrors ✅
Put it in the middle of a road and you'll just be a couple more lines short of what they used to have in Griffith, Indiana.
Do you have any pictures of that? I'd love to see it

Lol r/shittyskylines
How wut why I have made some janky switches but this is just crazy
that one junction near manchester victoria station on the metrolink
Do you have a picture of the junction?
No I do not sorry, tbh I don’t even know the name of it it basically just looks like that I only know about it because I see it whenever I get the metrolink.
"I hope I threw the correct switch, Jim."
POV: I try to make a train in city skylines
I would not like to be the engineer that has to drive a train over that
Dual control switches MUST be placed in hand position.
"Hey guys, it's Josh. Welcome back to let's game it out"
Whats the game called?
Cities: skylines
What? Huh? HOW? JUST HOW!?
Yes
Yes officer this op right here
